Tohru Honda is 16 year old orphaned girl who gets invited to live in the house of her classmate, the handsome boy Sohma Yuki, and his cousins, 16 year old Kyo and 27 year old Shigure. However, these young men and parts of the rest of their family (both close and distant) hold a curse; if they are hugged by the opposite gender, they transform into animals of the Chinese Zodiac. Everyday is an adventure for sweet Tohru, as she gets to know everyone in the large family better (especially Yuki and Kyo), in both common and bizarre situations. But, the Sohma Family curse is certainly no laughing matter... it also holds horrible cruelity and heartbreak.

this was such a damn cute anime gonk . shigurai is definatly my fave he was just funny. all i have to do now is get the manga to complete the collection ninja .

I have the boxset- I love it it! Theseries, not the box. Actually I love the box too.
I haven't read the manga.

fruits basket is awesome! it's a very good anime, but i like the manga a little bit better just because it has more to the story and more....detail. and the anime doesn't include the rooster or the horse. and the anime doesn't really show how pained the sohma family (especially yuki and kyo) really is, at least not compared to the manga.

Satoshis White Wings fruits basket is awesome! it's a very good anime, but i like the manga a little bit better just because it has more to the story and more....detail. and the anime doesn't include the rooster or the horse. and the anime doesn't really show how pained the sohma family (especially yuki and kyo) really is, at least not compared to the manga. yeah 3nodding

whoa, haven't seen this topic in awhile
out of curiosity i looked up how many volumes this series has, (16) there aren't many to go.
