Or am going to be. This is a kinda blog/journal/whatever. Fist off. I’m going into the army. I will hopefully be in MI (military intelligence, 96 bravo). For those of you who don’t know, when you go into the army you have to take a test called the ASVAB test. What you score on this test determines what jobs you are allowed to have. To get MI with a bonus you have to score a 50 with a ST line score of 101. I got an 88 with an ST of 118. That’s really good. All that’s left now is to see if the job is open at the moment or not. *crosses fingers*
One effect of me joining will be that I’m going to have to disappear from gaia probably at the beginning of next month while I‘m in basic training. I will give the exact date when I know. I go tomorrow to find out what job I get for sure. Hopefully MI. the basic training is about two months. GC will run things while I’m gone.
I will continue to post here as I know more. I’ll tell you guys all about basic when I get back but if I get the MI job I will not be able to tell you anything about my training after that (its all top secret).
Feel free to make comments or questions.

As is the armys unofficial motto says “hurry up and wait.” my phys to day (the last thing I need to do before I get to pick my job) has been pushed back. I should be going in a couple of days.

lol yeah, i tried to join the service once... i got like a 98 on my asvab i scored so high on the decoding test (if you remember its the timed one) i had not seconds left, but over a minute AND got ALL the questions right. Apparently my brain works as a natural decoder. I guess its all the game systems I've learned, that and C programming... *shutters* So they were going to put me into what ever thats called, the uber division of the MI...
Thank god i failed my uranalisys exam ( rofl rofl ) they actually still call me about every year asking me if "im off the grass and ready to accelerate my life."
I think i'll just use my powers for evil! O_o
Mwahahahahahahahahahahaha

Yeeees, you must work on developing a formula that will make someone go completely insane just by looking at it! Then we will be able to take over the world! twisted

I took the ASVAB test last year, not for the military. It was just something to get out of class. I scored really high on everything except the part about engine parts and s**t. How am I supposed to know what the little screw-ma-bob is called?

Looking over one of those goofy "how to take the ASVAB" books with Fargore, I have come to the conclusion that the ASVAB is a horrible test. Any test where I end up using my knowledge of Russian royal families to answer a question about sex-linked genetic traits is bound to be a bit screwy.
It also suffers from being filled with random low-end questions (at least in Science, where I actually looked through the entire sample test). It's a collection of questions about random facts, not about scientific principles. Now I did quite well anyway, but memorizing random facts comes naturally for me... ninja
Still, it's the kind of test my educational psychology teacher ranted about when she said that people only think multiple choice tests are for chumps is because lazy teachers make bad multiple choice tests.

I hear that! I'm a full supporter of the "Extended Answer" style exam. but then again.. i guess lazy teacher would hate that even more... And not be able to grade accordingly... I hate american education....

Well I would not have done quite as well if GC had not tutored me in math before hand. I’m now waiting on a med approval because I had surgery on my legs like 10 years ago. Since then I have won 7 and 14 place at two cross country races that had 200+ participants each. Carried another cadet across a foot ball field in ROTC. Won several physical medals in ROTC including the over all male physical fitness award for a multi state academy (300+ people) that included a run. And they still want proof that my legs are not damaged because of the surgery. If they would just open there eyes they could see that there is no problem here. But this is the army rolleyes .
And AMP, that’s a really good score. You should still consider joining. wink

Fargore just wants you to all know that he's at his Military Entrance Processing Station, so it may be up to a day between now and when he is next able to post.
Yeah, I know we're all lost without him, but what 'cha gonna do? mrgreen

So... HUZZAH!

Yes I have my job as Military Intelligence. Assuming I pass the background check, which should not be a problem. I leave out on the 26th of next moth. At that time I will be gone for about 3 months. GC will run things while I’m away so the Guild will continue. As soon as I’m out of basic I should be able to get internet while in AIT (maybe after about 2 or 3 weeks). Once that happens I should be consistent from that point on. I will be sure to tell you guys all about basic when I’m back. cool

I'm at a USO (a place in the air port where military people get to hang out, sleep and use the internet) I'm about to go to basic training. it should be fun. I was supposed to be at MEPs for one day and was there for four instead. But I was getting paid that entire time so who cares. I get to start as a PFC (E3) so thats good. I will tell you guys more once I start.

You will all be happy to know that Fargore will be finishing up with Basic on or around September 7. I am pleased to announce that Osama bin Laden, D. B. Cooper, and the guy who let the dogs out have all already contacted us and are preparing to surrender themselves to authorities.
Of course it will be some time since Fargore is back with us, as he can't use the Internet until he's been in his advanced school for a while, but he's making progress in getting there. I'm sure he'd be just thrilled if you'd all pitch in for a laptop so he can get one when he's allowed to. wink
