Hmm... I ran into this thread on my favorite forum of all time. So 3nodding for those of you who haven't yet discovered any of this information, I am glad to reveal to you, the newest RPG game coming out in late Spring of 2008! The Last Remnant!
Might as well make a topic about this too. It hasn't been officially announced yet, but a leaked issue of the latest Game Informer has all the deets:
The Last Remnant
Spring 2008 - Next Generation Consoles - 1 Player RPG
One thousand years ago humanity came into contact with Remnants. These magical fragments of a bygone era were once used to promote peace across the world. Soon, as the rift grew between those who ruled and those who obeyed, the remnants ceased being instruments of balance, and instead became paths to immeasurable power. Where once there had been peace, only bloodshed remained.
- Released simultaneously in U.S. and Japan
-Two prominent characters each created to appeal to a specific territory. Rush Sykes will appeal to JP gamers, and "The Conqueror" for Western Audiences. Game won't force you to choose which character you play.
- Remnants vary in size and can take the form of machines, beasts, and weapons.
- 4 races revealed: Mitra (humans), Yama (Large fish-like beings), Qsiti (small humanoid lizards), Sovanni (four armed cat like creatures)
- Battle System will not be passive and will include QTEs in certain instances. Fights still take place in a turn based frame work.
- This is the first UE3 game SE will be releasing. Graphics look great so no worries there. Apparently the game will be multiplatform, but the fact that it's using UE3 means it'll probably only be on 360/PS3, and not Wii.
This is really cool...finally, an S-E RPG that's not FF or DQ and (apparently) made for a western audience.

Well- it's not FF7 but it sounds great! Now if only I could afford a PS3 or a 360...

I was hoping for it to be ff7 based myself. but with it being the "last remnant", it sounds like it could be worth playing... But nothing like it could ever beat a great game like ff7. all hail sephiroth. and vincent.

I really hate that made for he western audience guy. He's not pretty ;_; I need mah pretty boys!
I really need a PS3 AND and Xbox device....since Beautiful Katamari isn't gonna be for the Playstation...... crying

From the name at first I thought it was the sequel to Dirge of Cerberus and the last entry in the compilation. Though I saw the trailer for The Last Remnant, and it looks pretty bad-a**.
