"Gahhhh, Runeh, remind me again why we have to do this?" Mikael grumbled in irratation, shifting the wiggling child in his arms and trying to get a better grip. Why he was the one carrying her was beyond him-he didn't even really know how to hold her right. At this point she was turned sideways, her gold hair trailing in the air as she squealed and squirmed.

"Because Victor just knows how much you loooooove watching her, of course," Runeh said with a pleasant sneer to his twin, keeping a good foot away from the awkward pair of Mikael and the restless Riley. Hehe, oh, it was always funny to watch Mikael's child-handling skills.

Mikael scowled, grunting as he got kicked by Riley's tiny shoes in his stomach, "Ahhh, shut up! He told you to help to! Which I don't see you doing!"

"DOWN!" cried Riley very pointedly, trying to slide her small frame through the grasp of her brother's large arms. Pshhhh! Like she wanted to be carried! She wanted to run! All by herself! Yeah!

Her youngest sibling finally gave up, letting her drop to the ground, "There!" At least he had gotten her within a few feet of the swings or whatever. Victor's decision to let the twins watch her was a questionable one-especially if Mikael was just willing to drop her like that.

Luckily Riley was a resiliant little girl. She sqwuaked slightly as she hit the grass, rolling slightly before finally coming to a stop. She then rolled over onto her hands, wobbling to her feet. Getting up was always the hardest part. Once she was on her feet she was a quick little thing, off like a rocket. She raced away with a laugh towards the play-equipment, silver eyes bright.

Zack had hardly been able to take Osha out to play since Devakanya had been born...appeared from her cabbage...whatever it was called. As it were, Zack was hardly able to care for himself and the young boy, nevermind a third child. A third child who was little more than an infant. Zack couldn't take care of a young child; who in their right mind decided this was a good idea?

...except, somehow -with Bran's help, really- Zack had managed to care for the girl properly. Now that Zack was sure a trip outdoors wouldn't break her, he decided to treat Osha to a trip to the playground. He set the children free once they got there, taking customary Zack position under a nearby tree with headphones blaring. Devi didn't really talk much and Osha knew how to get his attention. He wasn't worried.

When the little sparrow girl came darting over, Devi was busy playing in the sand, her brother somewhere near the swingseat. (Bright colors, and all that jazz.) Devakanya looked up shyly at the sound of someone approaching, watching the girl approach with wide pink eyes...what was she doing?

Riley ran right past the sand box, since that wasn't very interesting to start off with, and hurried over to the swings. When she reached and empty one she flung herself on it, trying to get up even though it was too high for her. The result was that the flat part of the swing seat met her belly and she wiggled uncomfortably, trying to get up. But, being unable to do so, she swayed back and forth with the swing, which had moved due to her momentem. And slid off onto her tail not long after, scattering dust from the dirt all over the place. She coughed and then stared up at the swing, a look of pure determination on her face. Yep, she was going to get up there, there was no doubt!

Runeh snorted, grinning from ear to ear. "How long til she gives up, do you think?" He asked his twin.

"Hmph. Never. She'd tear out her hair first," Mikael said with a shrug.

Completely ignored, the young unicorn girl could only stare after the other toddler. The sand was forgotten for the time being, Devakanya too interested in watching the other girl struggle with the swings. Completely puzzled, she stood, dusting her legs off before wandering over to the play equitment. She stopped a few feet away from Riley, a few metal poles between them. She clung onto the cold steel, tilting her head as she continued to watch in silence.

Osha, on the other hand, came over as soon as he heard the other child fall. He walked next to her, brushing red bangs out of his face as he tried to assess the situation. "Hey. You okay?" he asked quietly, pointing the swing. "Help?" he wondered, offering his hand to girl on the ground.

Ignoring others wasn't exactly what you would call it. Riley was simply...wrapped up in whatever she was doing. She got like that, so stubborn and hardheaded that she couldn't be swayed from the task at hand. And for a long moment she simply stared at the swings sharply, as if it were a blinking contest and if she won it would yield and let her up.

She did, however, finally take notice of someone as Osha came over to talk to her. She turned her head and blinked with skeptical silver eyes. What? Help? "Naaaaahhh~!" She said in a drawn out, but pointed tone. She bounced to her feet, her cheeks puffed slightly with an intake of breath that was an attempted appearace at strength or determination. "I do it!" She knew she could. She wouldn't give up until she did!

So she made another rush at the swing. This time she got a little more onto it, but...it was a bit too far. She hung over the edge, hanging upside down, her hair reaching towards the dirt due to gravity.

Osha blinked as the toddler loudly refused his offer, quickly withdrawing his hand. She was a very determined young girl...she kind of reminded him of Gavin. Loud. Tough. Bird-like. He nodded slowly when she proclaimed she'd do this on her own. Well, if she didn't want his help... He shrugged, stepping back to give Riley room as she made another charge. "Whoa." She got awfully far on that try. He nodded approvingly, tipping his head sideways as she hung upside down. "Stuck?" Maybe she needed help now.

Osha glanced over at his sister and frowned a little. Why was she hiding behind the pole? She should be playing with them! He motioned for Devakanya to join them. "Come play." He looked at the little bird-girl, realizing he didn't know her name. Elisa would be ashamed if she knew he was forgetting his manners! "Osha," he said, pointing to himself. "That's Devakanya." He pointed at his sister. She didn't talk. "You?"

Hehe! It felt really funny, being upsidedown. But due to the sparrow-girl's quick heart rate, the blood rushed to her head at a rapid pace and caused her to become dizzy but a few moments afterwards. She slid forward, tumbling onto the ground. But she recovered quickly, rolling over and standing back up despite small scrapes and dirt stains upon her clothes. Well...guess that meant she wasn't stuck.

She didn't even bother to fix her mussed hair or dust of her clothes. Instead she grinned at the two of them, as thoughs he hadn't fallen off the swing head first at all. "Riley!" she proclaimed proudly with a wide stance.

Osha smiled when the girl finally introduced herself, nodding. Riley. Riley. Riley, girl that could be related to Gavin. Maybe they were related! He'd ask Gavin at their next play date. He'd know, and if he didn't, his scary mommy would. She was a little dark, a little bit scary. She was still Gavin's mommy, though. Suddenly, the young artist remembered his manners -how could he keep forgetting?- for the second time. "Nice to meet you!" he cried happily, glancing at Devakanya to do the same.

The little unicorn girl said nothing. Instead, she watched her brother talk with this new girl, Riley. When Osha glanced over, she cringed. She didn't want to go play, new people were scary! Osha waved her over, and she shook her head rapidly. No!

Osha sighed, looking back at Riley. "Shy," he said with a sage nod. The trouble was, he didn't know how to make her unshy! Hmm. Riley was a determined girl... "Help?" he asked, pointing at the other toddler.

Riley didn't know the meaning of shy. She honestly didn't know such a type of emotional state of being existed. She was open and social...so the idea of someone being scared of another or nervous didn't really...cross her mind all that much. Forgetting momentarily about the swing, she took quick strides over to Devakanya, placing her hands on the pole which the other girl was hiding behind she grinned, her face very close to Devakanya's, perhaps to make sure the other girl heard, "HI!"

Osha hung back as Riley went to make an effort to make his sister play. Honestly, he wasn't sure how well it would work. Devakanya rarely played with him and they lived together! She was even shy with Zack, and he was their dad! He shrugged, watching the young Gavin-clone make an attempt at the impossible. Well. She was stubborn. So Devakanya. It might take a while, either way. He shrugged again, sinking to his knees to draw in the dirt while he waited.

Devakanya wasn't sure what her brother was asking Riley to do, but as soon as the other girl started approaching her, she was sure she wasn't going to like it. Suddenly, she was at the pole, right in her face! Devi jumped back when Riley shouted, eyes as big as dinner plates as she stumbled and fell into the sand. She scrambled backwards, keeping her eyes locked on Riley. What did she want? Devi shook her head, backing away again. Not hi. No way!

Riley did not understand Devakanya's strange behavior. Honestly, it looked like some sort of fit...not that she knew what those were. So she continued to move forward, rather oblivious to the other girl's fear. Because she honestly couldn't understand the posibility of fearing a stranger. "Nooo, no, you can't pway like that!" she said as if it were obvious, reaching out quickly to grab Devakanya's arm in an attempt to guide her to the sandbox or swing set for a proper game, not her version of one which involved scrambling somewhere.
PostPosted: Thu May 24, 2007 4:24 pm

Devakanya didn't want to play! Why didn't Riley understand? The unicorn girl jolted when the other toddler grabbed her arm, pulling away frantically. Where was she taking her? What was going on? No, no! She looked around wildly for Osha. Why wasn't her brother coming to help her? She quickly bounced to her feet and shuffled a few steps back. She shook her head hard, pushing bangs out of her face after. She didn't want to play. Riley was scary and could go play with her brother.

All Riley understood was the shake of her head. And...well, it didn't quite fit the conversation like Devakanya wanted it to. "No! You can't pway like that I swaid." Come on, she was totally right about this one. Whatever game this strange girl was trying to play wasn't going to work. It wasn't very fun. She held out her open, light colored palm to Devakanya expectantly. Her confidence was unwavering. "We have fun," she stated with a warm smile, her silver gaze looking the unicorn child right in the eye.
PostPosted: Thu May 24, 2007 5:19 pm

Devakanya blinked. Yes, she'd heard Riley the first time, but at least she stopped trying to drag her away to do scary things. She stood still, ears flickering as the sparrow girl offered a hand and looked her right in the eye. Devi winced, dropping her gaze to her feet as she drew a little circle in the sand. A hand meant she should go with her. That's with Osha did.

Slowly, very, very slowly, Devakanya put a blue hand in Riley's, ready to make a break for it as soon as things got scary. She'd give Riley a chance. Just one. It was a risk, you know.

Meanwhile, under a shady tree, Zack started to blink himself awake. Hmm. How long had he been dozing, exactly? Shrugging, he started to brush leaves and dust off his legs. Where did his children get off to? He yawned, standing with a grunt as he looked around the park. "Oi! Osha? Devi?" Hmm. All he saw were two other men. "Oi! You guys? Seen a redhead or a unicorn girly around here?"

"Okay!" Riley said with a grin, taking a firm (though not hurtful) hold on Devakanya's hand. That was more like it! "What you want to pway?" she questioned the blue girl, having completely forgotten about her little challenge with the swing set. It's funny how at some moments you couldn't pull her away from what she set her mind on and at other moments she was distracted so easily! Well, obviously Devakanya was more interesting then the swing set.

Runeh and Mikael both turned to look at the other man. Mikael showed complete disinterest, since he was always more interested in women anyway. Runeh, however, wore a sly grin. And on his slightly twisted face it wasn't too pretty. "Sounds like a personal problem to me, eh Mikael?" He nudged his brother, who obviously wasn't following his train of thought in the teasing department. "A unicorn girl? Have you been drinking, maybe?"

"The blue kid? She's over there with that other colorful squirt," Mikael said, giving Runeh a confused frown before pointing to the playground area. Yeaaah, he didn't follow his twin's lead at all.

"Way to spoil the fun, Mikael," Runeh complained with a shrug.
