So here is my little story. Last football season me and this girl I will call M became close friends and hung out toghter every game. We were friends with this other girl too but not anymore. Anyway this other girl decided to spread rumors about us and now me and M are the bitches of the guard and we didnt do anything wrong. I swear! So our first day of pratice was today, flag is easy were twirling to pirates. *yay* but the rifle is like making me angry. The girls whos father made them has been raticing for months and has promised to help all the girls but me and M. Im pissed. Our captian is only taking five girls and he wants the best but if i cant get proper help how am i to tryout. Do i still tryout even though im not getting help. Or should i be like screw you and get help from a coach or sometihng? Help Please.

well, getting help isnt the only way to get good, if you know basicly how its done, you can learn to do the rifles on your own with enough practice. (at least im pritty sure) Its like what happened with me and drum line tryouts. (Didn't know how to hold the snare sticks "Traditional" style.)

Trust me when I say that Rifle is a hard thing to learn on your own. Or at least to learn the right way. You should definately get help from your coach or something because otherwise you'll get into bad habits that will be hard to break and you'll suck at rifle...I say this because that's what I did, it took some hard work to get used to doing it the right way when I finally got help. So definately ask someone, do not try to teach yourself. You might, by some fluke, figure it out, but I doubt that will happen so get help.
