some say the fourth is stll alive and faked his death to become the leader of the atatski organization. is that true?

this is one of those things that really is up for debate and changes with the person. Personally, I don't see how he could be alive. He performed the sealing Jutsu on the fox demon and the price for using that is the summoners life. I doubt that the death god would let him get away with that. It's actually, as I said - just up for debate. But, I believe he's really dead and died when Naruto was sealed with the fox demon.
But I suppose we won't know until the leader of the Akatsuki is revealed. ^_^

I think he's long dead and buried, and will only appear in flashbacks. I don't understand people's obsession with dead people not being dead, but still living under another name and appearance neutral
