Who: Ayako and Nahanni (maybe other siblings)
Where: inside the family library.
What: the two sisters have a chat...
Why: they never truly got to know each other.
Red hair was moved away from brown eyes, as Nahanni scanned the pages of the healers' book. Some of the things were too complex to understand, and so she mostly learned visually with the pictures. The large library wsa surprisingly empty. The shy kit had timed it right when her father took breaks from the room, and had settled herself against a chair. Red-tipped tails curled lightly in her concentration.

Yeah, Remus wasn't around. What Nahanni didn't know was that, she wasn't alone. Curled up in a corner of the library and next to one of the extensive bookshelves was her sister, Ayako. As she closed the book she was reading with a light-coloured paw, she yawned and stood up, giving herself a light stretch. Her golden wings flitted at her side as she walked out of her "hiding place", planning to take a break as well.
But it seemed, it wouldn't go that way. She spotted her shy sister on the couch as she walked over, shaking her dark fringe away from her turquoise eyes. Hopping up on the armrest, Ayako peered down at her sister and the book she was reading. "Hello Nahanni." She greeted.

Nahanni gave a sigh as she closed the book. It...just wasn't absorbing. The material and steps needed were tough. Even so, Nahanni felt more connected with this than the magic expected in the family. She prayed her lessons would go smoothly, and that she could at least please her parents with one technique. An ear twitched, and she turned to see her lightest sister on the armrest. Brows raised in surprise, and Nahanni stuttered a reply. "A..Ayako?" It was so quiet, she had thought no one else was in the library. At least it wasn't Katsumi...

Ayako tilted her head to stare at the book cover. Healing? Hmm, hmm....interesting. That should probably be the next topic to study, she decided, making it a mental note. Somehow, she sensed that Nahanni was a little upset and she frowned. Did the book say something to upset her sister?
"Did I disturb you?"Her two white tipped ears laid back as she stared at Nahanni in concern.

Nahanni didn't speak for a moment, before responding to her slightly younger sister. "No, not at all...." She sighed to herself and moved the book from her lap. That was enough studying for now. Her eyes glanced about the room nervously as awkward silence set in.

Ayako nodded, but still not particularly convinced. Her sister still seemed rather troubled somehow. Resisting an urge to reach for the book, she asked, "Is something troubling you?" She didn't want to sound too nosey however, she was just a little...worried.

An ear flicked, and Nahanni gave her sister the generic smile. But her eyes told differently, and she didn't bother lying. "I...don't know." She moved her gaze to look at the book shelves. There were so many of them, just like her family. "I just feel...off. Somehow..." She couldn't explain it. She felt like a blank page in a novel. Empty.

Off? Ayako blinked. Perhaps her sister meant out of place, lost in this big family. Not that she blamed her, there were 9 siblings! But how? To her, family was the most important thing to one in the world. Everyone seemed to truly bond as a family, regardless of what they were like.(Okay, besides Liliana and Mau Cho)

Treated like family? Then...that was alot of different varieties. Nahanni didn't mean to fret the family. It's just...to her it felt like looking in a soundproof window and watching everyone. She peeked at Ayako, almost ashamed. "But what if who I am...avoids family attention." Was she really avoiding? Or was everyone else just so busy? It stressed her too much to think if she actually did something wrong to be so distant. At least for Enue, he was truly content with his attitude.

Ayako raised an eyebrow. "It's not like you're Katsumi." Come to think of it, she had become used to Nahanni's apparent shyness. Besides, Katsumi seemed to...hate; ugh no, that word was too strong, perhaps...dislike her family. For one reason or another. "I don't think you're avoiding. You're just...quiet." Actually, she herself was rather quiet at times too, now that she came to think of it.

A nervous chuckle came from the red-haired sister, before she peeked at Ayako. "Just...don't let her hear that..." Katsumi was intimidating, at least for Nahanni. Total opposites. An ear perked at Ayako's words and she frowned. "But...it just doesn't work out...." Quietness wasn't so bad, but when it came to being around others, such as her outgoing family, it became stressful. Her body and mind would freeze up, later embarrasing her.

Ayako shrugged her shoulders lightly. She didn't really care if Katsumi heard; what she said was the truth anyway, however, she still respected family and at least, she didn't shout at Katsumi like she really wanted to.
"What doesn't?" She asked. " I mean, I don't really talk much either."

Nahanni raised a brow at Ayako. She already came to realize that she wasn't one to back down lightly, and she admired that. At least she made herself known. "I just....get too nervous. My insides tighten, and there's nothing I can do." Ayako's silence was willing, Nahanni's was a reflex she couldn't conquer.

Ayako tilted her head, giving Nahanni a rather questioning look. She couldn't exactly comprehend how one could be nervous at the sight of family however.
"Perhaps...you're not comfortable with everyone yet? That takes time."

The kit avoided the questioning gaze, already knowing it didn't make sense. Still, it was who she was......that only time had a hope of changing. "I think that's it.....most likely." She shrugged, wishing it wasn't so hard to be around others like her open family. "It's...strange. I accept it, but still wish it wasn't so....."
