Conny had finally gotten some time alone, anymore fussing over him because he had come out of hospital two weeks prior and was still treated like an invalid would do him in. He loved his family, knew they cared, but there was only so much one could take so he had gotten away from his mate and kids for five minutes and decided to go to his uncles ice cream parlor and get some free ice cream.
Tamaska walked over and placed Connys thickshake on the table and placed a bowl of cookies and cream banana split (with almost every topping imaginable) across from him as well as his own thickshake. "So, care to tell me whats wrong?" He asked his nephew, taking a bite of his banana splt and looking at the wolf across from him.
Conny shook his head as he finished taking a sip of his thickshake and placing it on the table and picking up his spoon "nothings wrong, I just wanted to get away from my mate and children for a bit thats all." He said as he took a bite from his bowl of ice cream and and sighed softly though happily, savoring the ice cream before carrying on "I just needed a break, thats all, I swear, I can only handle so much doting" he said as he sat back, wondering what to order next.
Tamaska sighed, he knew there was something else wrong with his nephew but he wouldnt say what and so he decided to sit here in silence for a few moments eating. Tamaska only had 15 to 20 minutes for his break since it was rather busy in the shop today so he had to help Andre out.

Foxglove had been wandering the streets for a while, enjoying the bright day that spring brought with it. He hadn't a particular place in mind to go to, liking it better when he just let the wind take him where it would without a second thought. He disliked it when he was cooped up indoors, something he had to do a lot of lately to help around the apartment complex. He didn't mind helping, as it was one of the delights he enjoyed, but doing it for so long with no time to himself was just frusterating.
His feet brought him to a small, charming ice cream parlor across the street from where he was walking. On such a warm day, ice cream did not sound like a bad idea at all, and the demon found himself deliberating if he should head in. He checked his wallet, as he hadn't made sure how much money he had brought with him before heading out. He had been too exasperated to do so, feeling that just a long stroll was enough at the time. Fortunately he had enough, and so found himself searching for a walkway over.
Walking in through the door, he immediately caught sight of Convel, a sight he couldn't forget. It was surprising to him that he should run into the wolf after so long a time, but he didn't question it. As he approached, he was able to read his body language and found that Conny didn't look like he was feeling one-hundred-percent. His mouth tweaked, realizing just how long a time it had been since they had seen each other. He felt that maybe he had abandoned his friend during a time of need, remembering that he had two children and knowing how much of a handful that could be. However, that had been a while ago, and so was unsure of it now.
Seeing that he was speaking to another anthro, Foxglove decided to sit down a little ways from where the two of them were seated, so that when Convel was ready to, he could speak to him. He didn't want to interrupt something, especially if it was important, and felt his friend needed the time. That was okay, though, he could wait. He was just worried over Convel's mental condition...

Tamaska finished his thickshake and his banana split and decided it be best he got back to work, especially when there was another customer who just walked in to add to the lot that was standing at the counter. "I will talk to you later alright sweetheart?" He said as he got up and walkedaround and kissed his nephews head, picking up his dishes he walked back to the Counter and placed them in the sink for the dishwasher and then grabed a menu and took it over to the anthro who just came in.
"Welcome" he said happily to the demon "would you like a glass of water while you look over the menu?" He asked, placing the menu on the table.
Conny let his uncle go, he was happy just being by himself even if he did want company, he didnt mind not having it especially when there was nothing wrong with him. He was getting sick and tired of people thinking there was when there wasnt, couldnt he just have a break from family life and not be questioned about it? Conny sighed and carried on eating, eyeing the menu at times to see what he would order next.

Foxglove fidgeted in his seat a little, his legs stiff from walking around all day but uncomfortable when he attempted to sit down. However, the demon was feeling quite stubborn, so ignored the tightening muscles and straightened up. It wasn't anything new, after all, as he liked to take walks like this when he got the chance.
He was a little surprised when Tamaska appeared in front of him, at the time thinking he was still over with Convel. He didn't let it show, though, and took the menu with a smile. "Yes please, water would be nice. It's pretty hot outside today," he answered, opening the menu up to glance it over.
He took a quick glance over at Conny off to his side, and for the first time today caught sight of his face. He seemed a little happier after the hug he was given, and didn't seem as depressed as Fox once thought. It was probably the posture he had been in, but the wolf still looked like something was bugging him.
Throwing caution to the wind, Foxglove decided to strike up conversation. It wasn't like he'd be interrupting anything now, right? To get Conny's slight attention, the demon poked at Conny's leg wit hhis spaded tail and asked, "Hey, do you come here often? Can you suggest anything to me?" He smiled, pointing to the menu for directionality. "It's good to see you again."

Hunter walked into the ice cream parlor, he too had wanted ice cream, instead of spending his money why not get free ice cream from his uncles store? Hunter walked over to a spear booth over in the corner and sat down, waiting for his uncle to come and serve him.
Conny didnt notice his son walk in, he looked up to see what was poking him and smiled at his old friend "Foxglove, hey, come sit with me" he gestured to the seat across from him. "And dont worry about paying, its on the house" he said as he nodded t his uncle, the waiter standing by Foxglove "he co-owns this store, he and a lamia by the name of André own the store so it is free."
He said as he looked up at his uncle "you dont mind do you uncle Tamaska? He is a friend of mine, his names Foxglove, Foxglove, that is my uncle Tamaska, my fathers brother" He asked, knowing he wouldnt but thought he would check just to make sure.
"It's a pleasure to meet you and of course I dont, order whatever you want, I will be back in a few minutes, I will just go serve someone else" he said as he walked over to Hunter to see what he wanted. He never said his name thinking that they both wanted to be left alone so he decided he would give them both that at least until further notice.
"Well then, its all set, you can pig out on free ice cream with me" he said happily as he took a sip of his thickshake.

It was a releif to Foxglove when Convel seemed to perk up before him. The demon could be a bit of a worry-wart when it came to friends and family, but he didn't like to let it on unless he knew it was needed. He hopped on over to sit where Conny indicated, tail waving almost like a happy dog's would but settling it down quicker than it could be noticed.
His ears twitched to the sound of another body enter the parlor, catching sight of Hunter. Now that was someone he hadn't seen in a while, and it took him a minute to recognize him; after all, he hadn't seen the kid since he was but a toddler. He was tempted to point him out, but thought it better when he saw the hybrid sit at another table. He made a concensus to talk to him today, but figured now might not be the best time.
At the mention of free ice cream, Foxglove looked first at Convel, then at Tamaska, then back to Convel before shaking his head. "Oh no, no, I couldn't do that! I can pay; I've got enough," he tried, not feeling comfortable about it. He never liked the thought of being a mooch, and always avoided it if possible. After all, he didn't want to get anyone in trouble, or anyone to lose business, especially if it was a nice place.
However, knowing Convel, it was possible the wolf would disregard what he had said as he had done before, but he still felt a little awkward. Though this was just probably a part of Convel's charm, he considered a moment. He scratched the back of his head, snickering slightly. "Conny, you're too nice for your own good," he said, sticking his tongue out playfully.

Conny laughed "well then I guess I will accept the punishment when I get it since it will probably do me in" he said as he took another spoonful of ice cream and ate it. "And of course it would be ok for you to get free ice cream, if you were a once off stranger who im meeting for the first time then no, I wouldnt offer you free ice cream but you are a friend so why not accept it?
My uncle has placed alot into this place, he owns half of it, whatever he doesnt make up at the end of the day he will add to it out of his own pocket. My uncle, like me, is basically made of money, so it wouldnt bother him if he gave away free food everyonce in a while, he just does it for family more so.
So since your my friend, you basically get anything free in this store" he said as he pushed the menu over to him and finishd the last of his ice cream "now pick what you want to eat." He said to his friend, letting him see that this place basically had every flavor of ice cream, all toppings one could think of, all sorts of ice cream 'meals', doughnuts, creamed buns, it had soda and bascally anything else sweet one could think of.
It was an ice cream parlor mostly but it sold other sweet things also like cheese cake and the like, they had more business this way thanks to Tamaska suggesting it to Andre and Andre accepting. "This place started out as an ice cream store but then grew to sell small sweet things like cheesecake, cream buns, doughnuts, slices, other cakes, pancakes, piklets etc, but it isnt to big so you can tell it is still mostly an ice cream parlor.
But yeah, as I said, pick whatever you want, I am thinking of getting Banana pancakes now, be nice with ice cream, whipped cream, syrup and maybe chocolate hail on them." He said to his friend, pleased that Andre was such a great cook, his food was the greatest, of course not as much as Kuris but still it was his second favorite place to eat/ tied with a cafe down town he liked so much.
Tamaska took his great nephews order and went to fill it, deciding to get Connys and his friends afterwards, the store was busy still but 98% of the people that were at the counter had had gotten their food and left or were sitting down so it wasnt to bad now.

Foxglove still wasn't entirely comfortable receiving the free ice cream, but he figured he should just wave off the feeling and accept it. It was something shared between freinds, after all, and Foxglove came to the conclusion that he needed to do something for Convel to repay the kindness. After all, it wasn't so much out of need that it was that he wanted to do it for him. But what... not that was a different question.
He nodded in response to Conny's explanation, not feeling so bad once he put it that way. "Okay, since you put it that way," he teased, taking the menu from the wolf's hands and looking it over. There were so many things on it that sounded just divine, but it was difficult to choose. A large selection did that to a person, but it was also a great way to get people to come back so they could try the other flavors. "Wow... how do you choose from a list so long?" he laughed.
After a short pause, he decided to skim through a section at a time and picking a single thing he liked from each. Orange sherbet ice cream always seemed to taste the coldest, so that would be great on as hot a day as it was. As for toppings... crumbled oreo cookie, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup sounded great. Not completely original, but it sounded the best to him right now, and he closed the menu with a smile of achievement on his face. "I have conquered the list," he said as he placed it back down on the table's surface.
Tilting his head, he asked, "They have pancakes? Yum! Didn't look in that section because I needed some ice cream to cool myself off, but that does sound good," he said, tapping a finger on his chin as he thought. "Eh, I'll probably get something else later like that," he said after a spell of silence.
"So, how have you been since I saw you last? It's been way too long," he asked, leaning on the table with an elbow, chin proped on a fist. "We should get together more often like this. It's nice to see you!"

"I get through the list by ordering one of everything while im here, or at least one of everything up till I cant eat anymore and ys Andre makes everything in this shop, hes a great cook" he said chuckling "and yes, it would be good to do this more often" he said happily. "As for me, I dont even know where to begin, I have been in hospital twice, both times nearly killed, Huner ran away from home, it was because of him I was nearly killed....the list goes on."
Conny said as he took another sip of his thickshake, wondering how to explain thi all t his friend in as much detail as possible but a shortened version of the story.

"Ahh, that's a good idea!" Fox exclaimed, taking the menu back up and looking through it again. He hadn't looked through the whole thing, in case he'd come up with other items he wanted to try, but it was too tempting to ignore. "Well, if so many people stop in here, like now, the cook would have to be good," he giggled, scanning through the list. "And he can make so many good things... Wow..," he mused, finding so many tasty-sounding treats.
But his head perked at Conny's explanation of what had happened to him, shocked. "Who would ever want to hurt you!? You're so kind and friendly and loving... how could that have happened!?" he burst out, trying to keep his voice quiet so that he wouldn't draw attention to the two of them. "Aww jeez, I'm sorry I wasn't there to help you out with everything. Mmmh, some friend I am..," he grumbled, aimed solely at himself. He had no idea something so bad had been happening to his good friend, it made him feel badly there was nothing he could do. It made him feel helpless, but... "At least you are okay. I don't think I could've lived with myself if something happened to you." He gave Convel an apologetic look, seeming to say he was sorry about the outburst. "If there's anything I can do, don't hesitate to ask, okay?"

"He's one of the best" he said lookin up at the lamia behind the counter, serving the last customer for the time being and having a well deserved rest. "he also has made this place so comfortable to be here, so homely so it is also nice to walk in off the street and sit down, he will also give away a free drink or two if you are in need of it."
Conny said as he looked up from his thickshake and reached over and touched the demons hand affectionatly "and dont worry about it, its alright" he said smiling softly at the demon. "You have kids and lets see they dont run you rugged, it was bad but still its over with now, all it is now is doting on me and I cant stand that.
I am one of those people who doesnt mind it to a small extent but if its continuious then it gets annoying and I just have to get away from it all, not that I dont appreciate it, its just to much when its every other five minutes or whatever." He said with a soft sigh, noticing his uncle was comming over, leaving Andre to cook/make whatever it was that he had to cook/make and decided to come and get out order.
"So what can I getcha?" He said smiling at his nephew and his friend.
"I will take the banana pancakes, I will have six of them, and I will have chocolate ice cream, syrup, whipped cream and can you please just bring over some chocolate hail and hundreds and thousands mixed together in a small container? I want a decent amount so my own personal container might be best." He said as he looked to his friend "what would you like?" He asked, wondering if he should tell his friend the full story, bits and peices of it doesnt exactly give a full explination.
Tamaska wrote down what his nephew wanted, making sre to add a large carmel thickshake to the order, knowing his nephew loved strawberry ad carmel thickshakes the best. "I will also bring you over a glass of orange juice as well Conny, along with your medication, your father gave me strict orders to make sure you have it" he said, soon after he was interupted. " Conny sighed "Did you have to bring that up? I know you were meant to drop my medication off to me after work but come on, do I have to have it now? Cant I have it when I leave?" He asked, knowing the answer was no but still...
"Sorry sweetheart, your family wantyou to get better thats all, this perscription your father picked up for you will help with that. We dont want you to get sick" he said as he put the dirty dishes on the tray he had.
Conny sighed "alright, bring it over" he said looking at his uncle and looked back at his friend "see what I mean? I cant even get away from it here, of all places." He said as he slouched in his seat and toyed with his servett that he never used, wishing his father never picked up his perscritpion and left him to do it instead, he knew it was by doctors orders but he didnt need the medication anymore...

Fox followed Conny's eyes to the lamia behind the counter, for the first time seeing him. He agreed, this place was very comfortable and homey, a feeling of security and warmth surrounding the air about the parlor. He nodded, a smile spreading slowly on his features as he relaxed into his seat. It was a lot cooler in here as well, a very welcome change from the scorching heat of the afternoon sun. "Quite the big heart he's got, doesn't he?" he said, turning back to Conny with a smile. No wonder Convel turned out so sweet; he had grown up with caring people to help shape him into what he is today.
The magenta demon perked up as he felt the wolf's hand touch his own, feeling what Convel meant instead of just hearing it. He could feel the slight aggrivation of the matter through his hand, and because of this he forced himself to untense. Forgiveness for harming a friend didn't come easy to Foxglove, but... if Convel felt this way, he shouldn't hold it against anyone. He was still slightly concerned on the matter, but who wouldn't be? Just knowing his friend was alive and well, being by his side, was enough. It was all that mattered right now.
He grinned serenely to the wolf across the table, nodding in understanding. "Alright, I'll let it drop. If you're okay with it, then I shouldn't aggrivate the matter. I'm just glad your safe. But if anything else should happen, don't be afraid to let me know, okay? I'll help in any way I can," he replied with a wink, letting him know that no matter what happened, he was there for him.
Lifting his head up to Tamaska, he nearly dropped the menu onto the table as his fingers twitched slightly, unaware he was coming. It was just a passing surprise, and not one that displayed any uncomfortable nature, just startled to see him suddenly there. He let Conny order first, amused with the answer he gave, befor lifting up the menu again to refresh his own memory. "I'd like the orange sherbet ice cream, with... oreo cookie crumbs, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup, please," he answered after a brief pause to find his spot in the text, setting down the menu and folding his hands over it.
Talk of the medication didn't strike him as surprising but for the fact that Conny's uncle was on top of it instead of Conny himself. It seemed rather odd to him, if only because it would never happen to him with his family. Such strong family ties like this made him feel a little uncomfortable about his own past, yet at the same time was nice to see. At least the world wasn't all bad.
As the two finished their conversation, Fox couldn't help but snicker slightly, afraid that his thoughts might be showing on his face. It wasn't a particularily happy laugh, but at least it lightened the stress. "It's okay, Conny. Maybe we could go somewhere after we rest here a bit and get away, hmm? Get your mind off of everything for a few hours," he offered, hoping to lighten the mood.

"Alright then, I will go start getting this made" he said as he turned and walked back to Andre.
"Yeah, he does" he said as he looked over at the lamia "when I was growing up I just loved comming here, it was great when I got to lick the bowl from the cakes he made. Uncle Tamaska spoilt us when we were little but I guess it was part of family life back then, living in the Estate as sons of co-head of house sort of gave us a few extra perks.
Then again, in small ways, everyone got perks off my father, Muraki or Kuri just that obviously we got more but I guess it is to be expected" he said as he finished off the last moutful of his shake. "Though, unlike Marius, my brother, I never became arrogant, he now thinks that since he has money, lives in another old edwardian house and has maids etc he is now some lord or something.
Our father, as you know, gave us a fair bit of money when we were old enough to be responsable with it, he just ended up a b*****d with it, though I think hes possessed or something since hes a necromancer." Conny sighed and placed his cup on the table "but anyway, we wont go there"he said changing the subject.
"And thank you, I will make sure my mate calls you in future if anything happens" he said smiling at the demon "I would love that" he said to the demon "im just wondering if I should take you to my favorite health spa, my treat. I couldnt really think of anything better when it comes to relaxing, it would be perfect for us" he said, wondering if they could take them just so suddenly instead of making a booking if they did go.

"Thank you!" Foxglove said as Tamaska turned to leave before turning his attention back on Convel.
The demon grinned, trying to imagine what it would have been like to grow up with Convel's family. It was difficult, as Fox never grew around things very extravagant himself. In fact, he lived in pretty much the complete opposite predicament, knowing that every penny spent would be a risk, yet seemed to be just as happy. It was interesting to see such similarities in completely different lifestyles, and it made him feel more of a connection than before seeing these parallel lines.
"So, he's always been a rather good cook, huh?" Foxglove mused, glad the lamia was able to find his life's calling. He knew it was difficult to be able to work up to where you wanted to be and be comfortable doing it. Businessmen worked up to the money they wanted to earn but were never entirely happy, whereas people that worked toward their dreams were happy with it, yet never seemed to have the funds to keep it going for long. It was nice to see something like this happen once in a while, perhaps inspiring others to follow their dreams. Sure would be nice if it happened more often.., Fox sighed.
The demon tilted his head at the way Convel portrayed his brother, making him feel slightly uncomfortable. Fox himself had a rather healthy relationship with his brothers, even though their interests were rather wide-ranged, but Conny didn't seem to have it so good. "Hopefully there'll be someone out there who can shake him from that problem, eh?" Fox said, hopeful himself. "Friends can change people for the better. Maybe that can stand true for Marius," he continued, a wave of his hand in mild emphasis on the matter. He'd seen it happen before, even in people he didn't feel needed improvement. He knew once he met Convel, he had become happier over the fact he had made a long-term friend and not just an acquaintance, and this had shown slightly in his demeanor as well.
Though he knew he shouldn't set such high expectations, knowing that things didn't often turn out the way that was best. Happy endings weren't something he heard about too often, no matter how much he wanted to believe it. However, wishing for it to happen was nothing bad, he just had to be ready in case things like this never happened.
However, at the sound of the word 'necromancer,' Fox became intrigued. that was an interesting turn of events; maybe it wasn't all hopeless after all? He sure hoped that was the case, for Convel's sake. It was disappointing seeing brothers who never got along, and Fox hoped that this would change for the wolf. "Well, if that's the case, maybe it can be remedied. Couldn't hurt to hope that's the case," he mumbled, quieting when Conny opted to change the subject.
He beamed brightly as Convel agreed to let him help if anything happened, feeling like he was getting back into the swing of things more thoroughly now. If anything else happened again, he wanted to be there to prevent anything worse from happening, and to set things right. "Thank you!" he chimed, delighted. He didn't want to sit by helplessly if anything of the sort happened again, and now he didn't have to.
"Helth spa, you say?" Fox asked, interest piqued. He had never been to one before, never really having the money to pay for a trip and never having the patience or discipline to save up. He always seemed to need to spend the saved money on essentials such as food and board, and it made him slightly unesy once more that Convel should be paying for all this. He knew it wasn't a big deal to the wolf, but he would be unable to pay him back... at least traditionally. Oh well, don't worry about it, he tried to tell himself, but he just wasn't used to such treatment. "Sounds like fun!" he managed to blurt out after a increment of silence, trying to push his worry to the back of his mind.

Conny smiled and nodded "yes, he is but he has been like that ever since he was little, he is basically a genius in his own right, he opened this parlor at the age of 9 and has been working in it ever since. He passed uni by the age of 15 and he built this place by himself from the ground up by the age of seven, he drew the plans and everything for it before the age of seven and as they say, the rest is history.
He takes after his parents, from what I have heard they were rather smart themselves" he said as he settled back in the booth seat he was on "he took cooking lessons at 16, a year after school. He graduated top of his advance class by the age of 17 or 18 and thus we now get what we have, you wouldnt think he would be this smart just by looking at him.
He is only 24 years old but you would think he was older given the maturity that he is but I guess some just are born with brains, makes me wish I had them, saves me trying to figure our computers." He said with a soft chuckle, technology never being his thing unless it was cellphones or MP3 players/diskmans and TV's/DVD plaers.
" He can be anything he wants to be, having passed several degrees etc but he would rather be owner of an ice cream parlor, getting a normal income etc and being a people person. It is sweet really just that sometimes I wonder if he could really do more you know? He has all this potential, degrees in law and health and medican and the like yet he would just like being owner of this parlor.
I guess whatever makes you happy" he said looking at Andre, he was cute, be good if he could find a mate but his first love and only love is with the shop so Conny knew he wouldnt be getting mated off any time soon. "Anywa, as for Marius, I agree with you, he should come right, I will just talk to mother when I see him, im sure he will know what to do, Marius is a necromancer because of her so im sure she will be able to help him."
Conny said as he looked back at his friend "and you are most welcome, I just should give you my new cellphone number as well, I have had mine changed since we last meet." He said with a soft content sigh "and you are elcome on the health spa thing, I think this will be fun, I am a regular at the spa so I basically get V.I.P treatment since im always there, I go at least once a week" he said thinking back to his last visit.
The last time Conny went wasnt since before the accident, he had to go again, he was sure his friends would be missing him there, he just hoped they wernt to worried. He didnt want them to worry so he made sure noone told them about the accident, he knew Nova went to the same spa from time to time to get his nails done but that was a secret, he didnt want anyone to know he got his nails done so Conny knew he was safe from the spa workers finding out.
