Kitsune yawned as he shifted his position and rested under the shade of a large tree. Today seemed to be a lazy day, and he almost never took time off from any kind of training. He was constantly working himself, but as it got warmer, he found his energy level was decreasing rapidly. When he woke up that morning, he decided that it was a good day to just let loose, when really all he wanted to do was lay around. There was barely a breeze, so the air felt sticky as it went up his nose. It was the perfect enviornment for scoping out the area, which to his suprise was empty in the signs of life.
He watched as the grass on the plain in front of him barely moved under the hot sun. It seemed like it was on fire as well, and he sighed at its lifelessness. He nudged at his sword that lay comfortably beside him, and he rolled onto his back against the tree. Even strong stallions were allowed to be lazy, so he decided that he would do just that.

Ahote trotted along happily. There wasn't much around today, but he was rarely in a bad mood. He continued to cross the field, and began jumping every now and then, nipping at a fly as it crossed in front of him, or just seeing how high he could get.
He was approaching a small line of trees, and at the foot of one tree, he saw something bright orange. He had never seen something that colour in the field, or the woods before, so he decided he'd go and check it out. Still skipping around, he made his way over to the tree.

Kisune felt his ears perk and he rolled back over to see something coming towards him. It was.. small, so his sudden urge to grab his sword and pounce on his legs was subsided. Didn't seem to be posing a thread, so he just stayed rested on the shaded ground. Instead, he watched as a bouncy horse came trotting towards him.
It looked.. like a pony? A youngin, no doubt, and Kitsune watched as it came nearer and nearer. It had some interesting colors, so he just eyed the fellow cautiously.
"Hello there.." he said, in a lazy tone. He really wasn't good with children, so he just stared at the fluffy-maned animal.

"Heeeyy!! I know what you are! You're one of those So-kee-lee things, aren't you?! I know one of you guys! His name is Shikoba, but he's not very friendly, and I don't think he likes me. And he has wings, too, but you don't. Why not?"
True he spoke somewhat like a child with too much going through his mind, but Ahote was actually full grown. He grinned widely as he looked at the stallion in front of him.
"That sure is a strange colour you've got there. What's your name? I'm Ahote!"

Kitsune raised a brow, and let his mouth drop for a second. "Hello there, Ahote, it is nice to meet you. I am Kitsune." He let his head pollitely fall into a small bow. "And yes, I am a Soquili, though, aren't you as well?"
He tilted his head at the thing, strange, was he a different race? Kitsune had seen many kinds of Soquili, though what was this?
"Hehe yes, I am bright orange, not very hide-able." He laughed at the comment, and smiled at Ahote. "How are you handling this heat? I am just too tired today to put up with it." He chuckled and raised his body, which when standing up, looked many sizes taller then Ahote.

Ahote giggled.
"Of course I'm not a Soquili! I'm an Usida!"
He looked again at the stallion's bright colour.
"No, I guess you couldn't hide very well. I'm really easy to hide! Especially in a dark corner or something! Esxept my mane kind of sticks out. But other than that, I'm a really good hider."
He nodded his head vigorously. He was such a happy little pony.
"I'm not that hot, really. Maybe you're so hot because you look like the sun, and its trying to join you?"
He paused a moment and thought about that. It didn't really make all that much sense now that he thought about it, but oh well.

Usdia? Now, that word rolled off his tongue funny. Guess you learn something new everyday!
"Well then, you are the first I have run into, are there a lot of you around? This is a new thing to me." He nodded, interested on the subject.
"I am sure you could blend in very well, a great trait to be blessed with. Good for hide and seek too!" He winked at him playfully. "Though I don't mind being bright orange, it definitely can be a pain." He shuffled his feat and wiggled his tail at the feeling of a fly.
At Ahote's next comment, he could only laugh as well. "Well, its ok if it doesn't make sense, it was still funny Ahote. The sun and I, maybe its competition?" He continued to laugh with him.

"Actually, I haven't seen any others like me. Not yet. But I'm pretty sure there are others out there."
He nodded his head, and his eyes widened at the mention of hide and seek.
"Ooh!! Do you want to play?! I bet I'll beat you!"
He reared back excitedly, his front hoofs pawing at the air. He really was a cute little creature. His stumpy legs and scruffy hair made him look very childish.

Kistune slyly smiled at Ahote, and decided 'well, this is my day off anyways.. why not!'
"Sure, let's play! Do you want to hide first?" He pondered where the heck he would go anyways, seeing that they were only by a few trees. Well, might as well make of the situation!
"At least we are not by a huge forest, so we won't get lost from each other! Thoiugh, I am sure if that ever happened, you could find me easily." He also stomped his feet playfully, and felt youthful with the small lad. Sometimes it was nice to just let loose, and Ahote was helping him in doing so.

"Ooh, yeah, I'll go hide."
Ahote turned around, and remembered that he was in a field, with not many hiding places. But he shrugged it off, and bounded across the field. He yelled back at Kitsune over his shoulder.
"No peeking! Count to 20, ok?!"
He made his way to a small patch of high grass and wildflowers and jumped on top of it. He spun around a couple of times, and finally settled on a spot. He dropped to his knees, then rolled to his side a little, so that most of the grass was above him. With the petals of the wildflowers, even his white mane blended in. He giggled as he waited for Kitsune to come and find him.

Kitsune watched as Ahote pounced away from him. He turned towards the tree and waited till about fifteen seconds had gone past. Turning his body around, he noticed that the plain in front of him was lifeless again, and that Ahote managed to find a nifty hiding spot.
Collecting himself into a trot, he dove into the plains, and tryed to use his keen eyes and good smell to find the lad. As five minutes passed, it seemed hopeless! He couldn't find any trace at all!
Once ten minutes had passed, he noticed a white fluff scattered by some flowers.
"A HA!" He yelled, as he ran over to the spot. "I found ya, Ahote!" He chuckled with glee! What a good spot he was in.

Ahote jumped out of his hiding spot and giggled.
"Ha! It took you a loooong time to find me! I told ya I was good at hiding!"
He smiled as he shook his head, getting rid of some of the flower petals and stray blades of grass that had stuck to him.
"But you're pretty good! I didn't think you would find me at all! Its your turn to hide now! I'll go back to the tree and count to 20!"
And with that, he trotted back to the tree and faced the trunk, and started counting out loud.
"1....2...3..."

Kitsune moved his body into a gallop, and he frantically flew from spot to spot back and forth. It was obvious that his body was too big for any of the small burrows, and he was in a deep sweat when he couldn't find a place. He figured a good ten seconds had gone by, but with that he noticed a large tree that had fallen onto the ground. If he hid behind it in some underbrush, maybe that would work out! It was dark enough too, so he could be covered easily.
Pouncing into the brush, he whined at some of the sharp branches around him.
It seemed as though it was the perfect spot for him, and he figured that at that moment Ahote must have been searching around already. He had found a place right in time! He remained as silent as he could, especially until he would spot Ahote's little body.

"18...19...20!!!"
As Ahote finished counting, he spun around, and scanned the area for any sign of the bright orange stallion. He would have to stick out like a sore thumb in this grassy area. But....he couldn't see him. Hmmm...maybe Kitsune was better at hide and seek than Ahote had thought.
"Ready or not, here I come!!!"
And he trotted away from the "counting tree" and started to roam the field. At first, he didn't see many places that Kitsune could have hidden, but then he noticed another small line of trees off to his left, and he headed that way. He searched among the roots of the large trees, and all around them, but he still couldn't find Kitsune. But he wouldn't give up that easily.
"I don't give up, so don't come out yet! I'll find you!!"

Kitsune saw Ahote run back and forth, and he was stunned that he wasn't found yet. Though, there seemed to be a problem arising. A twig kept itching his nose, and it was probably the worse case of a sneeze that was on its way!
'OH NO!' He kept thinking to himself, when.. "A..a..CHU!" He noticed the bush around him wiggle, and he bit his lip to try and hide another sneeze. How awful this predicament was.
Now he would surely find him, Kitsune kept thinking.
Either way, he could not believe he blew the hideout..literally!!
