I finally gave into making myself a Woodsball specific marker. How does this set-up sound to you all? Tippmann 98 Custom w/ A.C.T - RT w/ Super RT Mod -Cyclone Feed System -Double Trigger -Freak Barrel System -Mini Max-Flo 68/4500 It seems pretty simple and clean to me. Just gotta buy me a 98 Custom and start upgrading it. biggrin The Revision:

I love 98's but honestly I would look at a X7, their really simple and strong. A friend of mine owns one and can't put it down it's a real performer. I was impressed when I shot 2-3shots not much kick. Their pretty fun.
In my 98 for woodsball I slapped a flatline on it. Why the freak?

Flatline's are good barrels, but the backspin slows the balls down a lot. When I shot one, I could follow the balls path to my target. Maybe he just wants a performance barrel that doesn't slow down the ball speed.
And DraXxus, you can put a cyclone feed on a 98C? eek

The X7 is nice. We had afew guys at my fields last local scenairo sporting them. I'm buying all the stuff for the gun off my store credits I earn off reffing and for markers you gotta pay half cash if you want to buy a maker. I'm sure I could get away with buying a 98 without paying half cash unlike like a X7 sense I've boughten tanks that cost more then the 98 with the store credits. Though I'll most likely throw on of those snazy loaders the X7 has on the Cyclone feed for the 98.
The Flatline is nice though its not really my style. I choose the Freak sense I've already got a full Freak system I use on my Cocker, just gotta buy a new back and tip if I feel like it.
And Bomber, you can put a Cyclone feed on the 98. Tippmann made a version for the 98. I'm thinking so many 98 owners wanted it on their 98s so Tippmann made one for the 98 as well.

So it begins. Got to play with it today and have to say I'm amazed at Tippmanns A.C.T system and how well it performs when I was using the Response Trigger on it. Not a chopped ball all day and I was only using the gravity feed hopper they sent with it. Got my Cylcone system and Freak stuff ordered so I should have it entirely finished next weekend hopefully.

Fields use them because they are very reliable. My local field here still uses their pro carbine's. They barely break and rentals take a hell of allot of abuse.

The 98 Custom has proven to be one of reliable markers out there and can take one hell of a beating as well. My local field rents them out but I do got afew diffrent features on mine that the field's don't and will have more features to add soon for mine. Just becuase a marker isn't expensive doesn't mean its not good. It may not got all the fancy features and performance of a $1000 marker but it'll get the job done in the end. I showed that to players last Saturday when I was playing. I may of not had a $1000 marker but I was taking people out who did. twisted Shows that its not all in the marker and that its actually gotta do with the person behind the marker.

Yeah dude, if you're just getting into Paintball, Tippmann is the way to go. 98C was my first gun. Never broke on me once.
You know, I had more trouble figuring out the internals on the 98C then on any of my Timmy's....

The RT can be pretty much tuned for it to go Full-Auto or you can get it to shoot in bursts. The RT has a vavle that applys more or less air to the RT's pnuematic to change the amount of BPS you want. I've only tweaked with mine abit and have gotten it to go pretty much Full-Auto, at stock it seemed just to take burst shots. The only trick to it is that the RT has a sweetspot for the RT to kick in. I can pull the trigger back normally and get one shot but if I want to go Auto I just slighty pull back on the trigger and it starts shooting Auto. So you got the control to shoot one ball or just sling some paint at someone. Thats what I observed from toying with mine but I'm not 100%. Also check with your local park if they will allow the RT just incase.

Alittle revision on my 98 Custom I'm putting togeather. A image I put togeather in Paintshop Pro that simulates it all togeather. Here is the list: 98 Custom w/ RT, Cyclone Feed System w/ X7 Hopper Shells, TechT Fang Trigger(I know its not on image I put togeather), Freak Barrel System, Spec Ops Dogleg Stock. Trying to keep the setup simple and clean with nothing extra.
