Ranis was content to stick his tiny fist into his mouth as Keirro browsed though gardening supplies. His animalistic eyes watched the movement of all the strangers that surrounded him.
"Oh, what a cute little baby!" said a woman to Keirro. The strange woman reached to touch the little infant and coo at him. Ranis growled and grabbed the woman's fingers to shove into his mouth.
"I really wouldn't touch him, He tends to gnaw." said Keirro as she thumbed through seed packets.
"Don't be silly! He's just precious! Aren't you little one?" cooed the woman.
Ranis growled loudly as his toothless mouth gnawed as hard as it could on the woman's hand.
"Seriously, don't touch the baby." growled Keirro. Ranis was now highly concentrated on trying to eat the woman's hand. Finally, he settled for comping on the woman's diamond ring.
"My ring! He bent it!" cried the woman.
"I warned you." said Keirro. Ranis purred contently as the woman walked away in protest. Keirro smiled at the infant.
"Good job." she whispered as she went back to shuffling through seed ackets.

[Ah, hmmm.. Let's say Home Depot.]
Ocean walking through the Garden section with little Eve by her side. She seemed to be so infatuated with lilies and since there weren't any at her apartment complex, she decided to plant a few and leave them on her balcony.
Evelyn looked around with curious eyes until those eyes spotted something shiny, and slimy. An agitated woman had walked by nursing her hand that had a slobbery diamond ring on her finger.
'Huh.. I wonder how that happened.'
She looked in the direction from where the woman came and noticed a baby in a cart. She tugged on Ocean's pant leg, "Mommy. Look at the baby!"
Ocean turned her head away from the violets that she had been occupied with and smiled, "Oh.. He's adorable.."

Ranis peered over the edge of his cart and flicked his ears as he watched Eve point him out. His green, animal-like eyes never allowed Eve or her guardian out of his sight. There was something about Eve that made Ranis take interest in her, even though he had ignored so many others.
He looked up at Keirro, only to see that she was absorbed in the seeds of the Alpine Strawberry. He looked back at Ocean and Eve. As long as they didn't try to touch him, he would be content with their presence. He did not know that his interest in Eve was the result of his nature as an Illusionary to be drawn to others like him. Keirro had never discussed it with him, but he would be too young to understand why he was different from other children to begin with.

Evelyn stared at him and pondered, 'There's something about him...'
"Mommy, can I go say hi to the baby?"
Ocean turned from the violets, "Give mommy a few more minutes to finish things up here and we'll both go over, ok?"
Evelyn nodded and continued staring at the baby and noticed that it was staring right back. She waved timidly and clung to her mommy. He seemed a bit, intimidating. Perhaps it was his eyes...

Why was this girl staring at him? Ranis had a feeling that staring back wouldn't be an option, so he started to whine at Keirro.
"Ranis, sush." she replied. Ranis simply whined louder.
"I'm ignoring you, Ranis. Your whining can only take you so far with me." Keirro growled. Ranis snorted and then turned his attention back at the girl. He crawled to the edge of his stroller and watched her with his intent eyes. He studied her every move, not to size her up, but to see if this stranger would try to possibly eat him.

Evelyn blinked curiously as the child whined to it's mother, 'Huh.. How odd... Do I scare him...?'
Evelyn noticed that he was staring back and gave him a smile and a wave.

Ah! What was that child doing with her hand? Was it a threat? An invitation? Perhaps, it was a distraction so that she could pounce on him! Ranis thought himself to much too clever for such a trick, but how to respond?
Ranis quickly ducked under his blanket that he had on his person. No one would dare follow him under the security blanket that served as Ranis's imaginary cave, log, puddle or anything else involving hiding.

Evelyn blinked and slowly put her arm down. During this time Ocean had finished purchasing her lilies and grabbed Evelyn's hand.
"Come on honey, lets go see the baby."
Evelyn and Ocean slowly approached the child and it's mother, Ocean smiled and tapped the mother shoulder.
"Hello ma'm, I'm sorry but my daughter here couldn't help but notice how adorable your baby was and she just wants to say hi to him if that's alright."

Keirro turned to the strange woman and her even stranger daughter. She figured that there would be no reasoning with them so she shrugged her shoulders and turned back to some violets.
"He gnaws, but he doesn't have any teeth. Just make sure you wash your hands afterwards. "she simply said.
Ranis whined in protest at Keirro. Why was she going to allow these people near him? He wanted Keirro to hold him, not these guys. HE looked at the other child with apprehension and was ready to defend himself from this shifty handed stranger, if necessary.

Ocean smiled and gently stroked the back of Ranis' head, "What's his name?"
Evelyn stared into his piercing green eyes and noticed his tail hanging limply out of the seat.
'How strange, he has a tail... Although...' she turned to look at her back and fluttered her wings a bit, 'I shouldn't say anything myself.' sweatdrop
She smiled and said in a polite manner, "Hello."

Noooooo! Ranis couldn't believe that this strange woman was touching him! He had to retaliate! Ranis reached for Ocean's hand and tried to grab her fingers to put in his mouth. While reaching for Ocean's fingers, Ranis noticed that Evelyn also looked as strange as he did. The other child had wings, which Ranis thought to be rather pretty.
He responded to the winged child's greeting with one of his own.
"Ahhhrroo."Ranis gurgled as he inspected the child further. He was still suspect of her motives but he now started to reason that the other child probably wasn't hungry.
"Huh, that's the closest to talking he's ever done. Usually he doesn't take well with strangers." said Keirro as she turned her attention to observe Evelyn.

Evelyn giggled and fluttered her wings a bit more. She couldn't use them for flight yet, they were too weak to carry her weight. So they were there to just look pretty.
