Finally! After being cheated out of a trip to Coachella, and having to hear about all the greatness of the european tour, and the scare of the show being cancelled, I saw Tool! Here in my own town, and it was glorious! Maynard, just as much as a secksi badass as I had imagined he would be in person, complete with cowboy hat and mohawk. The visuals were amazing. I was almost regretting not taking any "visual aids," but I told myself I wanted to see my first show completely sober. Well, I chugged a concoction of lager, rum, and pinnaple juice, but that was all. Hardly enough to impare my experience. I saw the ex there, nearly was shoved into him, and while retreating from being eight feet away from Maynard, they began to play push-it, I thought it was horribly appropriate. That was the song I ended up blasting over and over again when I was getting over the various emotions that come with ending a relationship. I screamed the lyrics up to the front as if he could hear me. Tool opened with stinkfist; something has to change, undeniable dilema, boredomes not a burden any one should bare...contstant, over, stimulation numbs me...but I would not want you any other way. The whole experience was just amazing, and I have this strange feeling, and maybe it's just a silly fantasy, but I do have this feeling I will meet Maynard. Eventually.
arrow What was your first Tool show like?

I just went to my first one June 7th!
All I could say was HO s**t.
They opened with Jambi, then Stinkfist, 46 &2, some intermissionness.. and.. my favorite. Schism. I freaked. Not only was I tripped out from all the insane visuals, but the laser light show was ******** amazing. I-- just wow. Everything was wow. Maynard came out with a bright orange oodie, then stripped it off, and BAM his mohawk was sexy.
Though, I was HIGH up and in the very back I had a perfect view of everything damned thing. Every last laser, visual effect, and what theband was doing. And it wasn't so high up that you couldnt see. My friend and I agreed we probably had the best damned seats in the entire place. We had the magical view of the whole pit when tey held ot their lighters. heart And the people there were nice and awesome, too!
I LOVED it.

I love Tool and all, but when I saw the concert, which was my first I was blown away. They played a lot of the songs I liked so it was great, the only bad thing is that the music was sooo loud it started to sound bad and you could BARELY understand the words unless you knew the song by heart. And then just a week ago I saw Incubus and I'd have to say Incubus had a lot better stage presence and the music sounded really good.

I saw them once many a moon ago during the Lateralus tour, but the 10.000 Days tour is simply the closest I can say to having a true spiritual moment, almost religious in a sense. The effects, the songs, the whole damn experience to see thousands of people silently entranced, then suddenly burst out in song together, all without being goaded to.

I came redface
Was the 10,000 days tour, they played the whole of Lost Keys (Blame Hofmann) and Roseta Stoned, I had been drinking absynth and smoked lots of weed, and during the "overwhelmed as one would be..." bit I grabbed loads of people I didn't know and tried to get them to crowd surf me. We where in the seating area.

BDO out 2006. The visuals and then theres the audio. They are true performers in my eyes.
The audio itself is so much more than the cd's offer i felt. Experience that i won't forget. Hanging out for the 2008 tour, as they are apparently coming to Australia again.

I've seen them twice now, and loved each time.
The first one, during Lateralus was really the first time I'd ever really listened to them, so yeeeah, it nearly blew my brains out. That was... '02, I think?
Saw them again this summer, and it was delightful.
I wouldn't want to get totally trashed for Tool. I mean, you're already kicking 60 bucks for a ticket. I think that the clarity that sobriety provides is necescary to truly appreciate them... but that's just my take.

seen them twice. first time at street scene SD..crowed sucked too many drunk frat boys...but loved the visuals that they had. simply amazing stuff. second time i saw them was at SDSU .was amazing and just unforgetable. definetly and experience i will have with me for the rest of my life. i felt bad about danny though. it was like..a couple of weeks after he had surgery on one of his arms..i think ..and he had too take a little break. but all in all, he did an amazing job.

Saw them live at Big Day Out in NZ.
eek
Despite the fact I nearly died (I was crushed against a metal barrier for over 40mins trying to get into the mosh pit, to the point where I passed out and my bf dragged me out) they were amazing!!!

My first show was ******** amazing. The lasers in the air, the guitars, Maynard's voice and kickass dancing, not to mention the crowdsurfing.
