Since her last meeting with Karim Lilith was not feeling like herself. The big purple wolf had did something to her, made her feel things she had never felt before. Sure she had known love before, but all of that was a different kind of love. Love for your children was certainly different then love for a mate. Only he wasn't her mate. Not techinally anyway. Lilith wanted to carry her line down, but not in any way that would make her close to anyone. Especially not a male.

So she needed to get away from the den for a while. Find someway to clear her head. Currently she was on the outskirts of the pack, nosing around to see what she could find.

Every day, as far as Harvey was concerned, was the same. The lone wolf would try his hardest to stray away from any other form of life through hiding behind trees, crouching low to the ground, hiding in the underbrush, wedging himself between bushes. It was an almost endless list, really, of what he would do to have very little contact with others in the event he were to run into a particularly frightening wolf.

It was also very rare for him to come to a small clearing that he'd be willing to pass through without running as fast as he could to the nearest hiding spot. Today, it seemed, was different. He walked confidently along, paying no attention to the fact that he was right out in the open, without a single place to dive for when in doubt. The wolf felt good for once, felt as though there was not a thing in the world that could worry him.

That was, however, when he noticed another wolf not too far off from him. Immediately freezing up, he stared over at the femme with his good eye, the other carelessly gazing ahead. For a moment he wondered if she'd notice him, if he could possibly make a break for it, but it seemed fairly unlikely to him.

It took a few more beats of innner reflection before Lilith's nose slowly flickered in the air. She could smell something, and the stench was hanging around her nasal passages, as it always did with something new. Her eyes dulled slightly and finally rolled over the horizon until they pinpointed on a nearby wolf. No, she had certainly not seen this one before. New wolves were always of an interest to Lilith, as they would be for any alpha. She wanted her pack to grow, increase in size. And new blood was aways the way to do it.

"You don't have to run or hide," She called out, eyeing him carefully. "I have no intention to harm you...however with direction you are headed you'll be entering my lands very shortly.

Harvey, still frozen in place, continued to stare at the female. Having tried too hard to avoid such uncomfortable, worrisome moments as this, he wasn't about to go and approach until he knew it was safe. Even as he was assured that he would not be harmed, the small feeling of uncertainty and anxiety lingered. Crouching a little lower was his only defense for the moment, and he slowly padded a little closer.

It wasn't the smartest move, he knew, even with the friendliest wolves around, but his curiosity seemed to be taking over. He hadn't often stumbled upon a wolf who didn't want to try tossing him around like an old rag doll. "Your lands?" He repeated, his voice a barely above a whisper. His gaze momentarily strayed away from the female and toward the area he was heading for.

Lilith watched him patiently as her tail swung to and fro, eye ever watchful on the wolf who was obviously afraid of her. She, of course, was used to this occurance but amused her that this male would be so cowardly. Unless it was a scheme. And out in the wild anything was a possibility.

"Yes," She said simply as she stepped forward in front of him, raising herself up slightly to appear larger then she already was. "My name is Lilith. These are my packlands. Why do you look so fearful, wolf?"

All Harvey could think about as this wolf stared him down was which way he could run. It wasn't the brightest idea to show this large female that she was frightening him, but he couldn't control it. It was obvious to him that there was a good chance he wouldn't win if she attacked him, and this led to the assumption that she could certainly out run him. Although both of these assumptions weren't exactly concrete facts, he didn't want to find out if he was right or wrong.

As the female stepped forward, he stepped back. "Lilith's packlands." He told himself quietly, as though repeating this would help keep him from ever coming back. That is, if he could get away from her. "Forgive me for being fearful, miss, but I've just been informed by a rather large wolf that I'm in their pack's territory. I'm finding it difficult not to be a little frightened by this." He replied, watching Lilith made herself seem bigger than she already was. In return, he immediately crouched down lower, ears flat against the back of his head.

"Oh hush," she quickly scolded, now padding up completely as she stared at him. Her tail continued to move back and forth, back and forth; a clear indication that the large alpha femme was in deep thought. After a small moment of reflective silence she approached him and looked down on him.

"So you're scared, hmmm? Terrified really, and you know if I truly wanted to I could tear you limb from limb without so much as batting an eye," she said before she stopped and grinned. "However, my intentions were told to you earlier. But, if you are interested I can help you."

Immediately after he was told to hush, he took a step back and lowered himself closer to the ground. At this point, there was barely any empty space between him and the patch of grass he was standing on. Fearful for his life, the wolf stared back up at her, readying himself to plead for his life if he had to.

Her words caused him to swallow down the lump he felt was forming in his throat. "Anyone as strong as you could easily tear the limbs off of my body, but I couldn't see a beautiful wolf, such as you, doing such a thing to a terrified, lonely wolf like myself." Pleading, hiding, and sucking up to others were his main ways of defending himself, and he hoped that the latter would help him. Apparently, his awful ways of defending himself weren't needed, and he took this offer into consideration. "Help? How so?"

She chuckled at his comments. Oh this one would try just about anything. But Lilith saw that as a good thing. She finally sighed and crouched her massive body down, her own maw just near his ear as he lay in the grass like a quivering idiot.

"I'd help you by first telling you that your pleads and compliments mean nothing whatsoever to me," she said, straightening. "Get up wolf. If you want, you can stay here. We're in need of ......your type," she said, spitting the last words out like they were poison on her maw. "I'm going to assume you're used to running and hiding, and more running which means you should know these woods like the back of your paw...if that's the case. Well then, I've the perfect job for you."

"You would have the protection of the pack, and you could still have the liberty to roam the lands are your leisure," she continued.

Why did she laugh? Was she planning something? Did she find him pathetic? Well, he was, but still! Harvey felt himself growing more nervous, filled with more anxiety, by the second. He didn't trust this Lilith, not at all. Yet he fell into this, what he felt to be a trap.

As the female began to speak, he began to regret not running off. Although he was smarter than this, to think this wolf really meant no harm, that she wouldn't try anything, he felt the smallest bit of hope. These were her packlands, and maybe she'd spare him, maybe let him watch pups, stand guard--whatever a weak wolf such as himself could handle. But he could also just be another wolf to be torn apart and tortured.

Furrowing his brow, he slowly rose from the ground after her command. His type? The way she said it made it sound like he was a disgrace to wolves everywhere. In a way, he felt as though this were true, even if she hadn't actually said it. His thoughts were interrupted by her offer. "Yes, yes, I do know many parts of the woods, I am always on the run, miss." He murmured, nodding in agreement, refraining from making some comment about her apparent intelligence. Harvey looked up at her, his good eye staring in disbelief after hearing her last words. "I'll get the protection of the pack and the ability to come and go as I please? What are the costs? What is this job you require for me to do in order to be a part of your pack?"

Lilith looked down at this wolf like one might look down at a small bug. Barely noticable and if the thing was pinpointed then surely undesired unless one wanted one tiny inkling of a snack. All the same Lilith knew, like all good alphas knew, that pawns were just as important as the kings. They may be expendable, but without them, well then you yourself were merely a pawn.

"Oh good, that's what I thought." She said, quiet pleased that he was well versed in the ways and map of the woods. He surely would be useful and she had been looking for a good scout for quite sometime. "The costs, are very very slim. In fact for the most part if you do your job well and I'm sure you will, then you will slip under the radar. No one will bother you and I can assure you if they do...well we have an array of fine warriors you can use for your benefit. The job is quite simply, a scout," she said before she finally sat back on her haunches to explain.

"A scout is very beneficial to the pack, even if they don't get their just desserts," she explained. "You simply need to see. If you see unclaimed lands adjacent to the pack, you inform me. If you see a patch of good game, you inform me. If you see a lost wolf that needs a home, you lead them here.....do you understand? Now...what is your name, wolf?"

((I don't remember him telling her, but if he did void that sentence))

((He didn't. ;D And sorry for taking so long. Finally back in the rp mood. ))

Harvey just continued to stare up at the alpha female. Although he felt the urge to ask several questions about this pack, the pack he would surely become a part of, the pack that ruled these lands, he remained silent. If speaking would disrespect or interrupt the larger wolf, he would only speak when he was addressed. That, or he would not speak at all, if the pack wolves were nearly as intimidating as their leader.

Furrowing his brow, he listened to her explanation of what the job would entail. A scout? He'd be a scout? That's it? "So you're saying all I have to do is be a measly little scout?" He asked quickly and quietly before Lilith finished, not exactly sure if that was the best role that a wolf could get in a pack. Then again, the protection of the pack would be useful, as well as these warrior types that she spoke of. So as far as he was concerned, even becoming part of her pack would be a good thing. It was a hell of a lot better than getting killed.

He perked up at the mention of his role actually helping the pack. For once, he'd most likely feel like he had a real purpose besides aimlessly roaming around, hiding from others. Now, he would scout out new land for the pack, he wouldn't have to fear other wolves as much, or so he hoped. Maybe being in a pack wouldn't be so bed, especially since he would be able to stay and go as he pleased. "If I find any of these things you request, you'll know immediately." He murmured, a weary smile forming across his maw. "Harvey. My name is Harvey."

((ah okay x3 and no worries, I think we're reaching a wrapping point anyway =p ))

"Harvey," she said, letting the name turn over in her maw to see how she liked it. It was simple enough and would be easy to remember, so in judgment she found that she found it quite nice.

"Well Harvey, welcome to your new home. I'm sure you'll find everything to your...liking," she said as a brow raised up. "If you need anything you've only to call..." To demonstrate she threw her head back and let out a long loud howl which was immediately returned by a nearby pack member and then another. She howled that all was well and turned back to the cowering wolf. "And one of us will come immediately."

"Do you have any questions?" she asked finally

((Heh, alright. And once more, sorry for the delay.))

Shifting a little, he allowed his rump to drop to the ground in a very ungraceful manner. There was no point in cowering in front of his new alpha, although he still had the niggling feeling that Lilith was still going to make him quite fearful.

"Thank you, thank you, miss Lilith." Harvey murmured, gratefully bowing his head down. Both of his ears perked up as she howled, and as other howls returned, he gazed up. Usually if he ever howled, other wolves would come find him, yes. But they would also see a weak, scrawny wolf that they could throw around. Having pack members come help him when he needed it? That was just great.

"No, no, I don't believe I have any questions as of yet. I'll be sure to get to you or someone else if I do."

She waved off the thanks with a simple flick of her large and bushy tail. There was no need to thank her. Any good alpha would take as many as they could, for there was strength in numbers. But, she didn't voice this to him. It would serve no purpose and most likely it was something he already knew.

"That is good, I'll take my leave now," she said bowing her own head in a customary fashion as she brushed past him to go into her lands. He would do well she thought.

Or else
