It was sad...I thought it was a dud because it ended so blah-ish...
Edit: But superwhatever's right. It had to end somewhere at sometime.

Yeah, it had to end. Otherwise, it would go on forever and never stop and we'd all get sick of it at some point. like a really bad fanfic that DOESN'T END!! but don't worry, i totally cried at the end too. I cried a couple times in Yu-Gi-Oh i think. ^^

I was bawling like a colicky newborn at the end, but I also think that was a wonderful way to end it. And I DETEST fanfics that have Yuugi killing himself after. That final duel was supposed to prove whether or not he was able to be on his own. HE WON. I can see him being depressed, yes, but killing himself? As soon as he got to the afterlife Atem would be beating the s**t outta him.

I liked the ending a lot. It showed that Yuugi really had surpassed Yami no Yuugi, showing he really was the king of games and could now get by on his own. It went back to the early roots of the manga, that Yuugi was pathetic on his own and only wanted friends. Well, Yami no Yuugi helped him get friends and popularity and duel king status, but it was mentioned sometimes how Yuugi felt less than his other self because he couldn't get these things himself. (like when he wanted to win back Jounouchi's controlled heart without Yami no Yuugi's help) Finally, Yuugi shows that he had matured, surpassed the one who had originally helped him. Yuugi is finally independent, and Atem is finally where he belongs: dead. Yes, it sounds harsh, but it is true. He should've died a long time ago. As sad as it was, it was also touching and empowering, and I thought it was a good ending that happened at an appropriate time. Wasn't too short like Fruits Basket and Ouran Host Club, but didn't go the never-ending route of Inu Yasha and Pokemon. ^^ Also, I loved Jounouchi's comment about how even after 1000 years, they'll still be friends. It showed that even though Atem was now in the afterlife and things were set straight and Yuugi was independent, friendship will always provail over all of that. And we all know that eventually all of them will be reunited in the afterlife.

I agree with all of the above. While yes, I cried (quite desperately) when Yami left, I knew it had to happen. I mean, where else could it go? If it went any further it would get boring like Pokemon has (sry to any pokemon lovers, but you gotta admit, it's really long). But no, I didn't like it, just b/c of the entire principal of him leaving crying

I haven't seen it yet, but c'mon! ^__^ Like Sirius in Harry Potter, he will live on forever in fanfiction! ^^ The same goes for Yugi's and Yami's relationship!!! XD So go find some fluff! Fanfiction cures all! 3nodding

I've seen the last episode too and I cried the whole day, and the next too because it was SO sad to see Atem go. I think he's so handsome and Kawaii! IT is too bad they let it end like that but people are right, the end had to come where they would part ways. Too bad there's no sequel, ya know where they have to come together again to save the other. For example Yugi going back in time to save Atem or the other way around.

I didn't when Atem did... probably because it had a happy and relieved feel to it, while Sirius and Dumbledore was just plain sad...

I like gx and capsule monster! Just because many consider them enjoyable, that does not mean they are true sequals to YUU*GI*OU: Duel Monsters. Genex is a completely different plot and different characters. It's practically a different show with the same title and the same card game. Capsule Monsters takes place before the end of Duel Monsters, therefore cannot be a sequal. And as for R well... I don't know much about it, but from what I've come to find, it also takes place before Memory Arc, right...?
