No - this isn't about any other Guilds (though you can make it about them, if you refrain from mentioning anyone by name).
I wanted to know if you thought my current signature was offensive. And I also wanted to get opinions on a proposed signature (that I totally stole from a bumper sticker on Cafe Press):
"You can't be both Pro-Life and Anti-Zombie"
I don't want to use it if people actually find it offensive. I, of course, mean it in a joking way. But since I'm not Pro-Life, I really can't judge if it is offensive or not.
And you know me, I hate to offend anyone I like. *wink*

Oh, I wouldn't be offended by it. Technicly zombies are already dead. Unless its the vodo zombie, then thats just some guy in an extremly deep trance. So, basicly, yes, you can be pro-life and anti-zombie.

Tiger of the Fire Oh, I wouldn't be offended by it. Technicly zombies are already dead. Unless its the vodo zombie, then thats just some guy in an extremly deep trance. So, basicly, yes, you can be pro-life and anti-zombie. No, zombies are undead. And since they move, of their own will, they have some sort of life to them. I suppose they don't have any cellular growth to them, one of the required signs of life.

Basic definition of undead >.> –adjective 1. no longer alive but animated by a supernatural force, as a vampire or zombie. –noun 2. (used with a plural verb) undead beings collectively. Another definition in my websters desk top version is that is is neither dead, nor alive in the literal sence. Biologicly speaking though, a zombie is dead. Not only do they not have cellular growth, but their body continues to decompose; cell degeneration. They ave the minimalist of brain activity, but even that shuts down after a few weeks to a few days, depending on how far gone the grey matter is. They are incapable of reproducing, since those glands that create sperm and cemen are no longer functioning, and since their herat does not beat, male zombies are incapable of obtaining an erection...unless they died with one XP. Most zombies seem to move of their own will, but that in and of itself is depatable. If movie canon is to be followed, they are following the primal urge to kill and feed. (resident evil movie canon I mean, if game canon is to be followed, they arnt moving of any will, and simply attack anything alive immidietly infront of them) If we follow the traist of Ghouls, DooM, the necromancer zombie, and voodoo zombies, then they have absolutly no will of their own at all, except in one notable instence, which I'll detail in the explination There are actualy six types of zombies I know of. Vodo, Viral, Radiation, Magical, DooM, and Ghoul. Voodoo Zombies are actualy living human being with their minds having been whiped through an ultimate high and halucinigenic dreams, and remain in this dream like state untill the will of thier master is broken. Basicly, these zombies are really nothing more then sleep walkers open to extreme suggestion. Viral and Radiation zombies have all of the same characteristics with only one notable diffrence: radiation zombies can learn...as suggested in Day of the Dead (with Bub the zombie) and Land of the Dead (basicly every zombie in there...OMG! John Legozama made such a sexy zombie whee ). But, even though learning suggest a higher brain activity then the viral types, their bodies still continue to decompose. Magical zombies are diffrent in how they are created and how they act. Basicly, a necromancer casts a spell or beseaches his/her god, and does nothing more the reanimate a corpse. These zombies are heavly diffrent then the previous ones, as, depending on the level of the spell, they can be taught to fight, or preform menial labor. Some do not eat flesh, they dont eat at all. In DnD, there are several refrences to a zombie colony that does act of its own will, having escaped the controle of their master after he was slain by a great adventurer, but out of some curse still retain their unlife (A zombie horde composed of magic will almost all ways fall, some times decomposing into nothing instently after thier master is slain). But biologicaly they arnt alive. They reproduce by transfering some of their magical essince to the dead body of another humanoid. DooM zombies are similer to magical zombies. They can fight or preform menial labor. Their creation is diffrent though, as they have had their souls ripped from their body by demonic forces. Its not known whether or not they eat living flesh. Its also safe to a assume that these tyes will show no brain activity what so ever, as a few of them have been known to shamble about with thehlf of their head above the lower jaw missing. Ghouls are exactly the same as magical zombies, except for their creation. When a vampire drinks the blood of a non-virgin, or the blood of some one of the same gender, a ghoul is created. Mindless, walking dead servants to their vampiric master. All zombies though, with the exception of vodo zombies, carrey the same biological traits. No metabolism, incapable of biologicly reproducing, at the very least the bare minimum of brain activity (or non aty all, their bodies mearly an extention of their master's will), continued cell degeneration (unless a spell is used or they are kept toghether through demonic means), and no heart beat. I suppose at the very least, the minimum brain activity could be used to consider them slightly alive. But is that really enough?

Oh they exist, just not in the walking dead, flesh eating, "BRAINS!" way. It was a documentry they did on the Discovery Channel, and somethign they covered in national geographic a ew years back. The voodoo zombie actualy does exist. They arnt completly mindless though, they have some will.

I find it very offensive. Zombies are people too. Rotten, semi-living unliving people. You shouldn't joke around about their condition, it's not like someone decides to be born as a zombie. It's a very tragic issue.
Oh, sure, people go around and make assumptions, "Oh, zombies are gross! Oh, zombies are smelly! Oh, Zombies will steal my car stero for crack money!" And this is just unfair. You can't just go around judging people by the color, or existence of their skin!

The diffrence is that sence zombies are clinicly dead (except for the whole walking thing), the govenrment cant stop me from going on a zombie spree with a combine harvester. ninja

Also: Here's an idea: anyone who opposes the death penalty should be forced to pay the entire cost of keeping inmates in prison for life! Dumbshit... rolleyes

So... let me get this straight... It's not that we want to save their lives, it's just that, as lifers, we want to burden society and women and force them to be poor?
So, should we have let the homeless down in New Orleans go? Shouldn't the people who helped them be forced to pay for all the things they need, since otherwise they;'d just be dead and not need anything anyway?
Lol at worst logic ever.

I always hate to offend people, because I'd like to think that having been pro-life and pro-choice at different points in my life, I have a lot of perspective on it, and know how to treat the subject with a modicom of sensitivity.
However, these people with their blatantly offensive sigs piss me off. Is there nothing better to broadcast than hatred for people who sincerely feel terrible about the whole situation of abortion, and aren't able to be okay with the idea of being allowed to kill a human being just because it doesn't have the magical "viability". Or the ever-subjective favorite: Personhood!
You've never offended me, Waters. I think you offended -certain- people by coming over to our guild, but you've never been one of those militants, so I think it's in your nature to be unbiased and even-handed. Which I love. heart
So, yeah.. No, your sig idea does not offend me.

La Veuve Zin Here's an idea: anyone who opposes the death penalty should be forced to pay the entire cost of keeping inmates in prison for life! Actually, I sort of agree with that. I think that the taxes of everyone who opposes the death penalty should (and does) go to pay for prisons and such. It is cheaper to keep an inmate alive in prison for the rest of their lives than to keep them on death row (through multiple appeals) and then kill them. Is that image a real signature?
