<[[ So, it's only 79 days (!) until Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Are you buying the book? Are you going to the release where you live? Will you be dressing up as your favourite character/house? Basically, are you doing something 'special' for HPDH?
I'm going to the release at Dymocks, which just happens to be across the road from my house, with a group of friends, and we're all planning on dressing up. The night before, we'll be staying up all night at my place, watching the HP movies, playing the games and reading the books, possibly while eating Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans and Chocolate Frogs and drinking pumpkin juice. ^.^ Basically, we're all super-excited.
Discuss: What are you doing for the release? Are you even a HP fan? And why/why not? If you are, what was your favourite book, and why? And are you looking forward to the final book in the series? ]]>

Discuss:
- i'm buying the book at whatever store near me has it the cheapest. i would go to a release, but i have a full-time job at a hospital this summer and won't have time to go to any special release party. - yes, i'm an avid HP fan. - I didn't get into it right away, but once I stole borrowed the books from the kids i babysat, I was hooked. - my favourite book was book 5, because of how much i hated umbridge. - i am not looking forward to the last book because i'm afraid someone cool like ron, hermione, or snape will be killed off!

<[[ Woe @ not being able to attend a release. *Sends cookies as compensation* We don't really have a big release thing here, but my friends and I are dressing up anyway, and we're thinking of telling the local paper and making a feature out of it...I mean, it's book 7, it has to be bigger than the others, right? ]]>

I don't know if I could really be considered a fan anymore.
I love the first three books but since then, my interest has been falling steadily. The fourth one was pretty good but the fifth one was a cop-out and the sixth one was ridiculous. Of course, I'll still read it.
The B&N where I am is hosting a release party but I'll be in the middle of moving and being on vacation but it's always madness anyway...AND at midnight.

I'm gonna be draco again at the release party again. Howell (nearby town) gets most of downtown decorated and all that for each of the last 4 releases, and my draco costume has been remarked on quite a bit.

I dressed up as Hermione for Halloween 3 years ago, but nobody knew who I was dressed up as (partly because my costume wasn't that great). But I have a magic wand that my friends got me for a birthday 2 years ago. mrgreen

Orange Blossom Of course! I bet this will be the biggest book yet! I can't wait! I'm so excited! Well, it's not the longest, but it may well be the biggest still! Only 78 days...! Before HBP came out, I spent a week carrying around a knitting needle, telling people it was my magic wand and referring to classes as "Potions" (Chemistry), "Transfiguration" (Physics) and so on.

I could never get into Harry Potter. I've read the books but I can't seem to get into it. I do love the twins, though. A lot of my friends are completely obsessed. Much like the knitting needle (although I'd suggest a crochet hook would be better because they make them in brown and they're less dangerous) thing but also wearing scarves and whatnot. The scarves, I admit, are pretty damn rad.

I've seen that pair of needles put together a scarf, moving so fast you could hardly see them at all!

I should go to the party, and I probably will, on behalf of my poor mum, who will be taking the BAR exam. ^^;
