The snow was finally melting.
Two deep blue eyes glanced around at the scenery. Tufts of brown grass were emerging from the white slush that still coated most of the ground. There was a green stalk every once in a blue moon but for the most part everything was brown and white. The trees overhead were still bare and the gentle breeze rattled through the bony limbs of them. The Pigumi lay curled in a minute ball, paws outstretched before her. Her small body radiated feline grace. The sun was shining brightly overhead but rain clouds to the west would soon smother it. A small yawn was released from her small jaws and quickly stiffled by a paw. She blinked sleepily, so very tempted to take a nap. The sun had been kind enough to dry out her fur and she felt great, albeit a bit tired. She unfurled her figure form the ball and stretched out, rolling onto her back and sticking all four of her legs out into the air. Her tail feathers twitched idly behind as she did so. To anyone, it probably would've been considered cute. But if you had the nerve to say it to her face you'd probably get some pretty nasty claw marks. Despite her small size she older then some of the Seijins of the area. One would do well not to mistake her for a baby. She merely had a condition that stunted her growth. The Pigumi rolled back onto her stomach, now aware her fur was again damp and spattered with mud and flecks of grass.
Aoi wrinkled her small lips in disgust but couldn't help but feel she was glad she'd taken a nice stretch. She sat up and shook herself off. It didn't help much but it made her feel better. Not feeling inclined to groom she perked up her ears to listen top the sounds around her. The birds had yet to return from wherever they had flown off to so it was pretty silent. She curled her tail around her and examined her paws. She hadn't seen a sign of life all day. She didn't know whether this way a good thing or a bad thing. Sure she liked the silence but it was kinda boring without someone to at least annoy her. Cocking an eyebrow she rose to her feet. She began to walk forewards, hardly noticing the icy remanents of snow under her dainty paws. Despite being only the side of an adult housecat she walked with an air of dignity. It wouldn't have been in your favor to underestimate her. With her tail swaying lightly and only the sounds of her footsteps to keep her company she moved onwards. She kept her ears perked and her eyes half-open. She looked bored.

Slush, slush, slush.
Giggles filled the air to accompany the sound of slushy ice being crunched. The watery substance on the ground made it a perfect time to play and get dirty. Even though the slush supply was limited, the yellow Shikoku had found enough to make a nice puddle to splash around in. It was still cold as it had just melted moments before but she didn't mind, she could barely feel the cold. Pikachu stopped for a moment staring at her reflection in the dirty water. She watched as her big smile slowly dissolved away and a lonely one came to replace it.
She sighed as she made her way out of the puddle and took a moment to shake off as much water as she could, extending her wings in the process. There was still a thin layer of mud caked on her under belly and legs but she just shrugged at it knowing that walking in the snow would clean it right off. The red dots on her cheeks began to spark as the smile began to return to her face. Nothing made her happier than a pleasant walk.
Pikachu began trotting along an invisable path around trees and through untouched layers of snow. It was nice to be out when spring was peeking around the corner but for the moment, it was a bit lonely. She ignored the feeling and continued to prance about, adding a little tune as she did. The cold air felt good against her coat and gave off a heavenly scent.
Plop.
Automatically, Pikachu's nose crumpled up as she looked at the substance on her nose. Was this.....snow? She shook it off, giving it a dirty glare, before looking above her to see where it had come from. Only a second had she looked at the branch before a whole pile of half-melted snow crashed into her unsuspecting face.
"Bwah!" she cried and frantically began shaking her head. Without even realizing it, her feet began to move as she ran in a random direction.

Brown eyes peered out from the shadow of a tree. Glancing around they noticed the slight bits of dried grass peeking out from the under patched of snow. Places where there was no snow was mud and more grass. The eyes blinked as they continued to analyize their surroundings. The eyes stoped moving though when they saw two different sets of movement that caught its attention.
One was a bright yellow 'thing' jumping up and down. The second was a bright babyblue little 'thing' just fidgetting or squirming. The eyes were nto sure what exact movements they were since they were far off. Steppign out of the shadow the eyes belonged to a small Shussan. Though it was different then most its tail was fluffer and larger, and it was apparent it wasnt any regular Shussan. Blinking again in thought the Shussan decided to approach the babyblue 'thing'. Since it appeared to be the same size at itself.

A sharp cry penetrated the silence. It sounded like a gasp of shock coming from a supposed female source. By the sound of it, it could've belonged to another Shikokuyen. Aoi layed her ears on her head in agitation. Why had she been complaining earlier about the silence? She stopped and went a bit rigid, hearing the muffled thumps of seemingly frantic footsteps. She tilt her head to the left, the direction which she determined the noise was coming from. Her vision was blocked by a line of dead bushes. Taking it upon herself to investigate this disturbance, the Pigumi trot around the bush to discover a large yellow blur moving about. She took a step forewards with a quizzical look on her face. What was it doing? It was only by chance Aoi stepped out of the way of Pikachu before she would've been trampled. With her fur now all ruffled in annoyance she whipped around to the yellow Shikokuyen and snapped, "Oi, watch where you're going!" Her voice was as impish as her appearence and despite trying to sound intimidating it didn't work too well.
She stood at full height with a comical scowl controlling her face. Her tail was raised and twitching in agitation. From the corner of her eye she noticed something brown coming towards her. It couldn't have been grass, grass didn't move. Turning her head swiftly she caught sight of the eevee. His apeparence was different, just like the yellow things. Although the differences were minute she could still pick them out. "What?" she asked huffily, sitting down and having a look that proclaimed she was holier-then-thou.

The Shussan paused surpised a bit by her other brust. It tilted his head to the side wondering why this creature which apparently looked just like him, only with minor differences was yelling at him. His attention then turned to the yellow one pouncing around. He moved awya and closer to the babyblue one to avoid being stepped on. Then he looked back at her, her outbrust in his mind as he thought for a moment.
Though he understood her he could not speak. When he tried to a serious of small yelps or cries came out. Though they wouldn't be understood by others she would be able to understand.
"Nothing. Just wondering why there was movement over here." His attention turned back to the yellow one and he shrugged his small shoulders figuring the yellow one was not too normal.

Eyes shut tightly, Pikachu continued to run in a paniced manner. A few voices that were not there a few moments ago spoke to her and frighted her more since she had no faces to match them up with. Fear grew in her as the snow started to melt from her eyes and she could see where she was going. After a few more feet of running, she opened her eyes with a smile but by that time, it was a few seconds too late.
Thump.
Pikachu wobbled as she stepped back from the tree she had just run into. It hurt quite a bit and she could feel tears forming but chose to shake them away. A paw came up to rub her head as her tail twitched and sparked.
"Ehehehe...." she said to herself but at this moment, she remembered the voices she had heard. In a quick motion, she turned around to find two small creatures seemingly in a conversation. Confusion brushed over her. The part of the forest that she was at was abandoned, how far did she run? Pikachu stared blankly for a few moments before raising her paw to point.
"Err....who are you?"

Aoi turned her back to the Eevee, deeming him boring and useless. She watched as Pikachu proceeded to run right into a tree. "Great, we're dealing with a weirdo," she said out loud, partially only talking to herself and partially talking to Eevee. She brought her right back paw up to her right ear and began to scratch absent-mindedly while still observing Pikachu. This would either lead to two things occurring. Aoi would get pissed off at how annoying the female was or Aoi would deem her an idiot. Yeah, the Pigumi didn't like to think kindly of people very often. They had to earn her respect first.
She tilt her head to the left slightly as Pikachu spoke, blinking a bit. Then she rose and with her left paw pointed to herself. "I....am....Aoi." She spoke very slowly and loudly as if speaking to someone who wasn't all there, if you catch the drift. Before Eevee could speak, she added something. "Who...are...you?" she pointed to Pikachu and waited for a response.

The Shussan blinked and looked over at Aoi. He tilted hsi side to the side. Watching her he added, "we?" Then his focused returned to the the yellow thing. What an odd creature. He tilted his head to the other side still watching it. Was it stupid? It just bashed itself into a tree. Maybe it was better if he didn't speak to it. After all he might just caught whatever it has.
Again his attention turned to Aoi as she spoke to it when it asked who they were. He couldn't hold back his chuckle as Aoi spoke to it as if it was very 'slow' and wouldn't understand her. Before he could speak Aoi spoke again. He glared at her slightly. Then spoke up, "and I am Eevee." He gave another look at Aoi that said 'you could of at least let me speak.'

Pikachu's ears twitched as she watched silently. They were both small creatures yet the blue one seemed to give off an older vibe. To her, this was strange. Maybe it was just her mind tricking her. The pair of ears rose up and a unusually happy smile appeared on her face. She hadn't even counted on meetin anyone today but perhaps she would make some friends!
"Hi! It's nice to meet'cha! I'm Pikachu!" The wings on her back wiggled a bit as she stood up and shook some of the dirt off of her coat. Her paws skipped their way towards the others before she spoke again. "Why are you talkin'....like...that?" At the last minute Pikachu had decided to speak like the blue fuzzball. Maybe it was handicapped in some sort of way? At that moment Pikachu felt a bit sorry for the creature but held her smile nevertheless.
Her yellow head turned to the little brown fuzzball. Seeing him chuckle, she frowned. It wasn't nice to laugh at the blue creature just because she wasn't like them. She gave him a glare before letting her smile reappear.

Aoi hardly noticed the brown creature behind her but decided to respond to him with a haughty glance that said, "You're not even worth being introduced." Turning to face the yellow creature she couldn't hide her scorn. Obviously this Pikachu thought she was the handicapped one. The thought made her fur bristle and her eyes narrow. She could see the faint pity in the thing's eyes. The nerve! Looks like the joke was on her now. "Oi, don't look at me like that." She snapped, leaning forewards a bit as if to spring at Pikachu but at the last moment deciding against. "I can speak fine, I was just wondering if you were slow or not." She snorted, eying Pikachu and not returning her smile. "Well, she's partially there, at least." While saying this she turned to look at Eevee and accidently fixed him with a venimous glare. Aoi still had her doubts about her. She wouldn't put up with a weirdo for very long.

The unfriendly looks clearly didn't reach the yellow ball of joy as she continued to skip along to be right in front of the pair. Her smile didn't seem to have anything behind it and anybody could see that she was a bit....carefree. Pikachu's eyebrows shot up as the little blue one spoke and gave an appologetic look. So she was perfectly fine after all.
"Oh no, I'm not slow at all. Well, not with thinking," she nodded smuggly but then took a second to think. "Though I might appear that way in a contest, I don't do well under pressure...heheh..."
Pikachu's tail twitched as she remembered a detail to who she was talking to. Though her body was young, it seemed that her spirit was older. Her eyes widened with pure curiousity as she leaned to the side to get a good view of the Eevee too.
"Sayyyy, how old are you guys? You're the same age right? You look like friends," she said.

Eevee tilted his head in surpise when the yellow thing, called Pikachu glared at him. Then he looked more surpised when the other oen spoke so nasty to him and then even fiinished it off with a glare. He frowned. He didn't need to be glared at by the two of them. He was about to leave when he heard the Pikachu speak.
"Friends!? You must be mad!" He spun around and nearly glared at the Pikachu with seemingly dark eyes. "I wouldn't be friends with this nasty thing if I was the last Shussan on earth." Then he glanced at the blue one, called Aoi with disgust. She made his fur stand on end with disgust. He didn't even want to touch her. She was just so rde and disgusting. He didn't need one hyper active yellow thing and an ice queen around him. He began to turn to leave them behind. He rather return to some dark shady area.

It was obvious the yellow thing wouldn't be deterred but Aoi's dirty looks. This unsettled her only somewhat. She gave an agitated snort and shifted her weight from her left front paw to her right. Did this adolescent really need to prance around like a twit? Apparently, she did. She was demonstrating her legs' abilities rather well.
"Oh I'll bet," The little blue puffball muttered under her breath just loud enough so Pikachu was perfectly capable of hearing. Her voice was thick with sarcasm. Pikachu's next question mildly amused her. While she felt like telling Pikachu the truth a large part of her wanted to snap at her for being so nosey. So she decided to compromise and do both.
"Not that it's any of your business," She started, rolling her eyes and idly scratching her chin with her right paw. "But what would you say if I said I was older then you?" A delicate smirk tugged at her lips revealing her minute fangs. The reactions to her saying such a thing were always priceless. However, the moment the word friend slipped from the Pikachu's mouth her smirk vanished to be replaced by a look of horror and disgust.
FRIENDS? With the brown idiot behind her? The corners of her mouth twitched and her eyes were big as dinner plates. She wasn't acting, either. The notion! It made her want to throw up, grate her ears against a tree, chop her tail off even! Aoi had no friends. She was above them. Far, far above them. Or so she liked to think. It wasn't until the Eevee spoke did things turn ugly. Nasty thing? WHAT? Aoi whipped around so fast you only saw a blurr of blue. No longer calm she was bearing her sharp teeth at the little brown beast who had dared to speak.
Her face was contorted no longer in a calm smugness but in a hatred so deep...The insolence! She had seen much more then the little fool and yet he dared to treat her so! "I'd rather have my legs ripped off then get to know that idiot! " She snarled. Her temper was now nearing its peak. She'd teach the little brat what it meant to know your place. With the agility of a cat she bounded forewards, leapt, and aimed to land right on Eevee's back in a full-forced tackle.

Eevee would of laughed at the blue one reaction if it weren't for the fact that he too was fisgusted at the thought. It as he eas her outbrust that him turn around in mid step. He actually sat down to see her act like the mad girl she was. He rolled his eyes at her outbrust. "I feel the same-" He stoped though when he saw her move. His immediate reaction was to attack btu instead with some quickly thinking he just sped out of the way.
He ended up beside the Pikachu with a smile. He watched her hit the melting snow with a splosh sound. Then smirked thinking to himself how he loved the move agility. "I am over here. You sad excuse for a girl." He laughed then shakign his head. She let her emotions contorl her movements making her rather easy to read. He shifted his weight a bit waiting to see if she would try again. He figured she would after his last statement.
