This theory was speculated in Tookie's Total BS Sticky, but i thought it would be fun to speculate furthur into it. (PS, i hope you're okay with this tookie, if not i can remove it) Tookie_Mookie The Spooky Mansion: -Located in Barton Trench, it was recently shown in the Featured Place Spotlight. So far there have been speculations of its involvement ranging from the Alien Plot to the Questing System. -My speculation is that it maybe a link to the Vally "Trench" Region environment shown at Otakon Gaian Panel along with the Enchanted Forest/Hidden Grove (. This leads me to think that perhaps there will be separate Battle Environments each with its own Map linking to it.
Though it may just tie into the next plot update said to take place later this year. When i went to look at the Barton Trench it really did seem similar to the Enchanted Forest/Hidden Grove area. As you can see, in front of the path there is a gate which looks an awful lot like a torii. Now i learnt from a teacher that a torii is a gateway to sacred place or for the gods. Now, considering that artwork of an area of the battle system we see that it's called Enchanted Forest or Hidden Grove, it's not that hard to think that we may cross through the torii into this enchanted, hidden area. Now from this, a theory could be that through this pathway, we can cross into the world/area that the battle system takes place! To furthur the theory, when you go to the right of the Barton Trench there is that link to towns. Now why do we need this extra way to get to towns (through the trainstation in Barton town, the link under 'world' and the link under 'games'). Well, we could believe that the admins just added it there for the heck of it...or it could be that that is the staging area, or town to rest at before going into battle! EDIT: 05/29/07 Some more of my speculations on pg 4 post 2. It may be a bit far-fetched, but what are your thoughts, comments, etc.? Let's put our brains together and investigate this as well: swarf Actually, no one so far has guessed the function of the building on the hill. xp But, no more from me! I shall leave the investigation to you all.

Right track eh ninja Hmmm...we must come up with more theories then, like just who is in that house. @Lady Aji: Hmmm, a monk? I gotta go refresh my mind with the npc's mentioned :3 @Tookie: Yes, ma'am, i'll change it right away xD

*Random thought for the night*
You know, looking at the Barton Tench map area I had this totally irrational thought. "I wonder what it would be like to mountain bike down that." That reminds me, need to fix my back brake. I don't want to end up like that monkey boy in the bike safety video.
I'm less worried about what's in the building then who will be guarding the bridge. I'm not sure I know the average air velocity of an unladen swallow off the top of my head, African or European.

And Aji means the monk NPC Xiao-Fahn that was shown at the Fanime Gaia Panel last year. He looks combat related and would tie in with the torii. But then again how does he ties in with the spooky mansion? That part throws me off. sweatdrop

If so, that would be pretty awesome. idea @Tookie: So i went back to your BS sticky (very helpful btw <3) to take a look at the possible npcs. Since swarf said that i was reading into the torii too much, i don't think Xiao-Fahn will be in it. But with the whole description of it being a creepy mansion, i think the first npc shown (the one with the spider) may be there. Generally, in spooky places there are spiders, and with him having a pet spider, he seems perfect for the place! The admins did show him first, so perhaps they had him in mind for early events leading to the BS.
