Our school is so stupid, really. They expect us to cope with the two subjects with the most coursework (Tech is compulsory) when three deadlines clash!
Ugh. I feel so free!

Jshin I only have homework for the next two years of my life! Then grad school....(5...more....years... crying ) You American? Your schooling system is different to ours, or at least the names are, resulting in me not understanding at all sweatdrop . I never have done, actually.

GigglyGal Jshin I only have homework for the next two years of my life! Then grad school....(5...more....years... crying ) You American? Your schooling system is different to ours, or at least the names are, resulting in me not understanding at all sweatdrop . I never have done, actually. In America there are approximately 12 years of compulsory education, except under certain circumstances. From there, any more is optional. The general next step is College/University. Wherein the standard timeframe is four years, resulting with a baccalaureate degree, in either the "arts or sciences." From which point, one may opt to go into the work force, or to higher education. Above that 4 year block, we have what we call "Graduate school (Grad school)." That can take anywhere from 1 through 7 additional years, with the resultant "Masters," "Professionals," or "Doctorate" degrees. In general, most people consider the Professional and doctorate degrees to be equivalent (which is not necessarily true... but that is not terribly important).

Sounds a lot more complex than ours sweatdrop . But then again, we are the nation of 16-year-old drop-outs that boast about failing all eleven GCSEs and claim a ton of benefits, amounting to more than the average graduate's wages. Doesn't do much for motivating people to continue to further education. So what do we do? We pay people whose families have a history of non-uni-attenders to attend university, and make grade boundaries even lower. I shouldn't complain, seeing as it's to my favour, but currently, we only need 55% in my Maths GCSE to get an A. It's ridiculous!
