Tommy stumbled out of the gates, trying to keep balance on his sore but fully formed wings. Everything hurt...or itched...or ached...or just plain annoyed the s**t out of him. From the new fur, to the sensative wing membrane...to the infuriating fact that his eyes have changed...dimmed...lost ability to see color properly. And, worst of all, he was hungry again...that one small packet of blood not nearly filling him up for the exhausting change he underwent.
The fully-formed batman didn't know where he was going...the echolocation almost constantly being sent out from his nose, although he had to get used to the new images being sent in. His ears had changed, and so had his perception of the sound. But none of that mattered right now. He was exhausted and hungry...and the village was up ahead, waiting.

Lauren knew what was comming, and knew it was comming soon. She held the note that Sabin wrote and unconsciously pawed at the injection point in her arm. She needed someone, anyone to be there for her and needed it quick. Who could she go to? She didn't want to bug Miller with it right now, she couldn't go to Nita. Perhaps Awen? Or Jordan? She quickly ruled Jordan out as she didn't want pro-lab anti-lab drama right now.
She really didn't know where she was going when she ran into a bat. Who was that? Lauren remembered Tommy and knew from the smell it must be him.
His smell... it was easier to find things from smell, to differentiate person from person just by smell wasn't it? As soon as Lauren realised it she KNEW trouble was soon.
Hesitantly she ran over, already feeling a little sore. It was going to happen and happenstance chose the person it would happen in front of. "Tommy..." She yelled over towards the bat person as she ran.

Tommy continued to just stumble toward the village, oblivious to almost everything as his only concern was either food or security at the moment. That is, until his echolocation picked up something that seemed vaguely familiar...if a bit more defined. And just then he heard his name called. Tommy...Tommy...someone needs me. That sound...who was it...? What...Lauren...the shape and sound...Lauren.
The bat-man's head perked up as he tried in vain to use his eyes search out Lauren's form. Although his eyes were almost as good as they used to be...with the color drained from his sight, it made it increasingly difficult to pick her out. Instead, he just followed the sound. "Lauren?" he called out tentatively. "Lauren...are you alright?" he asked, a low chittering followed in his nervousness.

Lauren stumbled over towards Tommy and just as she was about to answer, lost the contents of her stomach. It looked very much like a cat loosing a hairball. "Sorry..." She said feeling more and more in pain. Before she knew it she was on the ground at Tommy's feet. "Please... stay." She pleaded to Tommy as she looked up. She knew it was about to happen any second.

Every slight sound assaulted Tommy's enlarged ears...everything was too loud or the wrong tone...he winced as the sound of retching irritated it further. He squinted in her direction, following moreso the smell and sound of her than by his sight.
Though soon he was close enough to see properly...and didn't even have to bother asking what was wrong. Having just gone through a process exactly the same, he knew immediately what was happening. Instantly, the fog lifted from his mind as he saw someone in need of help. Instantly, he was by her side, trying to put an comforting wing about her shoulders. "Shhh...shh..." he whispered, his own voice sounding odd, "I won't leave...it'll be alright..."

Lauren was shaking and very hot to the touch, an unatural and nearly lethal heat for a human being. "Sorry..." She said trying to keep her voice down. Her fur was looked incredibly damp from sweat as she appeared to be changing in front of him, her body was thickening and her skin was getting a tiny bit more saggy. Lauren tried to hold back a frightening panic yelp but didn't succeed. Still the effort made it more muffled than the bone chilling loud bark she wanted to emit. "You... you've changed." She said attempting a form of conversation in between huffing and breathing deeply in panic and fear.

Tommy winced and lifted his wing slightly, the delicate and newly formed membrane extremely sensative to the intense heat Lauren was giving off. His first instinct was to hop away, get as far away from the changing animal with sharp teeth as possible. This was almost overwealming at first, too. His mind was in such a jumble, he didn't know just what to do.
At Lauren's words though, he paused for a moment, the chittering eminating from him halting. "I...y..yeah...yeah, I have..." he said slowly, "A...about an hour ago." That's all she needs...someone to talk to. This last change had almost killed Tommy...no one there to support him...that had been a terrible idea. Almost completely broke him mentally.
"But...don't be sorry...I'm here...I'm not leaving," he said, chittering out the last bit. He once more put his wing about her shoulders, doing his best to give her some comfort.

Lauren let out a forced laugh, "Well geuss they... they got their ROUNDSSS.." She yelled out arching her back in pain as she felt her torso lengthen and all her bones shift and stretch, the bones themselves changing into a slightly more flexible state. "done..." She said huffing and panting at the pain. Her legs were even shortening while her neck lengthened. Several things caused her to gasp and writhe but Lauren forced her mind to stay awake, even though her mind believed blacking out was the best for this amount of pain Lauren willed her mind to NOT black out. She had enough blacking out, both for pranks and in the reality that came with the chaotic nature this genetic expermentation leant itself to.

The snapping sounds, the yelling, and the sounds of pain in general were about to make Tommy flip out and scramble for the nearest high spot. All he could do was grit his jaw and shut his eyes as her changes continued. He didn't want to know what was happening to her, but what his eyes didn't see, his ears told him everything. Being stretched out like taffy in some places while compressed in others...it was almost too much to bear after dealing with his own change.
"...yeh..." he said as he released a pent up breath, "regular as clockwork."

Lauren's orange eyes widened as her form continued to change. This seemed like the worse one yet. Her feet lengthened, her torso finished growing, her neck finished growing. After many agonizing minutes her body seemed to have stopped a second, giveing her time to roll over and burry her face in Tommy's wing. The dark felt good, comforting in a way. But just then her muzzle started popping out a little more and she fell away and literally rolled into a ball, twisted in on herself in a way she could of never accomplished with her former torso. She reached her paws to cover the acheing muzzle. All the time she emmited more animalistic sounds of pain then human sounds, whimpers, barks, yelps, a weird gutteral warbelling cry and gasps of pain.

Tommy's mind reached out to Lauren, feeling her pain as he felt his own not so long ago. As she buried her face in Tommy's wing, he immediately went to try and hold her in both. She seemed so scared and hurt...It was all he could do at the moment...although 'human' contact was a moot point now...he could at least try.
"It's almost over...it's almost over," he said soothingly, trying to calm the trembling ball of fluff with his wing.

Lauren wimpered as she felt a huge headache comming on. Instinctively she wiggled herself out of Tommy's wings as her horns grew, her newly formed muzzle gasping in pain when it happened. Then her tail grew at the same time, forming more fully. All her musles still seemed to be filling in the gaps where her bones shrank and grew, forming around the newly grown vertibrae and newly formed muzzle. Externally nothing more than muscle twitches were happening but internally the body warped itself in an almost magical way to accomidate to the forceful dna changes happening.
"Almost..." She echoed. "Almost over..." Her brain was moving faster as she felt more twitchy yet more reliant on her friend. He was here to protect her, one of the friends. He had her trust enough to share a burrow with her and all of her friends. It seemed a flashing image in her head she held for comfort. A burrow full of her friends. Mentally she knew it couldn't happen but it still helped.
Her skin burned all over as her fur finally grew where the muscle now rested. It was nothing compared to the pain she had felt before though so Lauren was finally able to force herself out of the pretzel she found herself in. She leaned against Tommy trembeling and aching.

He winced as he saw the horns grow out even further, wondering just what possessed her to choose those. Her changes did seem to be stabalizing though...just some muscle twitches left...probably nerves reconnecting themselves or somesuch...Tommy shuddered slightly as he saw some new fur grow in, remembering just how that felt...his own fur feeling completely alien on him.
But...she looked so pitable now though...so in need of someone to be with her. It almost made him completely forget about his current pains and agonies and just want to reach out to her. As she leaned against him, Tommy did his best to stay moderately upright, using one wing to stabalize himself while the other held Lauren. "It's alright...I...I think you're finished," he said quietly, the chittering slowing as he tried to get a handle on his own voice.

Lauren ached all over as her fur finished growing in. She grew an odd large ruff around her neck, and it was HOT here to her. The island felt horrible. She needed someplace damp and cool.
She had noticed her pants shredded themselves off during the change as her body formed to grow out of them. In all the pain, she never noticed them in the way. Slightly embarrassed she reached faintly out for a few scraps but her paw just dropped them. Her arms were too weak right now, she was too weak all over.
food... sleep... food and sleeep was all she could think of right now. She couldn't get up yet though, her newly formed musles were too weak just yet. "I am done. This is... my last one." She looked him up and down finding words hard to form admist a sea of instinct, "Food?" She asked him. "Need food... and hot. It's hot, very very hot no good." She found it hard to talk normally but didn't question her words.

Tommy hadn't realized that he, himself was lacking in the pants department until Lauren tried to pick up her own pair. The wings now made it almost impossible for him...he'd have to figure something out though. As much as the bat in him didn't give two shits, the human in him still had a sense of modesty...which hit him like a train just now. Thankfully though, Lauren either didn't seem to notice or care...but she did seem...oddly distant.
He would have cared a bit more though, if the adrenaline hadn't started leaving his system...fogging up his mind once again. Tommy just nodded a few times. "Yeh...they got uh..." he shook his head, letting out a chittering sound once more, "They got food in the chow hall...'n A/C..."
