Gosh I'm like always refering things to PotO! Like I'll be sitting somewhere and something will fall...and I'll be like "It's Erik.....he's here the Phantom of the Opera!" Gosh there's so many things to list I don't even know where to begin!

Deadly Lullaby a series of unfortunate events - POTO REFERENCE!
Oh my, at the start of the movie when the crazy guy was in the store by the train, HE WAS READING A NEWSPAPER AND IT HAD A PICTURE OF THE PHANTOM ON THE COVER!! My friends and I were watching the movie last night, and I SCREAMED "PHANTOM!!!!!!
at the top of my lungs when I saw it and ran to the screen!!! xd

Phantom of Music Well, this year, the Winter Percussion show we did was called Spring Heeled Jack: A Musical in Three Acts...
...and I recently went to look up information on Jack myself...and found something very intresting.
That, in a way, he most definitely reminds me of the Phantom.

They have one episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force (and it was actually on tonight) that the basic thing is Master Shake getting rhinoplasty and plastic surgery. Well right at the end, you have Frylock and Meatwad talking about the result of all that s**t Shake did to himself and then Frylock mentioned he was going to meet his online girlfriend. He dresses up as a fire-fighter and Meatwad give him the half-mask and tells him to mention how his face got burned real bad in a fire.
The first time I saw it, I was aggrivating all my friends who were online about it and even screamed loud enough to wake my Mom up.

This happened in another guild, in a thread titles "If hentai was real" and I went in to post that if hentai was real, then the Phantom would still be alive! (cuz I said so...)Deadly Lullaby If Hentai was Real, then anything could be real.... AND THE PHANTOM WOULD BE ALIVE! xd ROAR!

Well, my family was watching "National Treasure" a few nights ago, and at that time, alls that was on my mind was phantom. (I was so obsessed, I refused to turn on the lights or come out of my room without a mask on). Now, I saw this as a good opportunity to get Phantom out of my head for one night at least.
At the begining, my hands began twitching because alls I wanted to do was listen to the music.
Now, I got into it, yady yady yadda, and Phantom wa soff my mind. that is, until, the main character Ben picked up a flire for a Gala and I thought: "Oh great! There goes phantom!" Recalling the first scene with Carlotta practicing before the prop thing nearly kills her and she storms out and Moseur Firmin cries:
"Madame! I had hoped to make that announcment public tonight when the viscount was to join us for the gala"
After the gala, and towards the end, there was a big wooden thing hanging from the ceiling. Ben lit it up and said: "It's a chandelier"
So, naturaly, I thought: "OH GOD! Chandelier crash scene!"
And for some strange reason, I kept immagining the bad guy with a white half mask...

In the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen the main villain is called the Phantom. When Sean Connery's character first hear's about him his response is something along the lines of "How operatic".
Maybe it's just me, but I see that as a reference.

And then I freaked out, rolled off the bed and cut my knee on a wire that was sticking out. There is no way I'm ever going to forget that moment. I also saw the Series of Unfortunate Events one, with a similar, though more freak-out-ish reaction.

Well... on the plane, there was a magazine where they were listing "Hottest Bachelors" or something, and Gerard Butler was there. And... O_o They made sure to tell us he was in the Phantom of the Opera, and mom wanted to know why I started hissing at the magazine.
And in the newspaper (SAME FLIGHT! D: ) someone compared Johnny Depp to Lon Chaney. O_o Not sure why, though.
These aren't really references, but still. They stuck out in my mind.
(Please don't acknowledge this post or quote it or anything or say anything to me. I don't want anymore attention. It's upsetting other people, apparently. ._.)

In the game PsychoNauts, you get to go into the mind of an aging actress with severe moodswings. 3nodding I was playing and one of the characters mentioned a Phantom that lives up in the rafters of the stage and terrorizes the productions. 3nodding I squealed when i heard that. whee Part of the level is you trying to get through the rafters while he drops sandbags on you and taunts you. The Phantom ended up being the fat, stupid critic that sits to the side of the stage(which was a definate dissapointment), but it was a great reference nonetheless. heart 3nodding

ok (sorry if this spoiler to anyone who also reads harry potter) in the new harry potter book, harry has to go into a cave and in the cave there was a lake, my reaction: OMG ERIK LIVES HERE!!!!!! and then there was dead people came out of the water or something and it reminded me of POTO in the book, the Watcher or something in the water. and then harry and dumbledore have to go in a boat in the lake, and all i was thinking is that its a gondala and they are going to sing phantom of the opera.

XD But I've seen many Phantom references, most of whom were mentioned on the last thread...sooo...o__o;; I'll repost my Angel one: Season 3: Cordy is getting those false visions that give her boils and s**t. And she goes, "I hope I don't have to go all 'Phantom of the Opera'." I was all, "O___O PHANTOM! YAY CORDY!"
