So what would be cooler to see this as? an anime or a live action show? I'd love to see one. an anime could mess up the voices and a live action could mess up the acting! But they'd both be soo cool! heart My vote goes for an anime though because I want to see Ren in action still looking like himself heart heart whee

i'm usually pretty satisfied with the acting in jdramas, but the thing is the casting. especially since both ren and sho are supposed to be these super tall guys and many times they aren't able to deliver the tall guys sweatdrop and i dunno if i'd be satisfied with whoever they cast as kyoko 'cause i wouldn't want to miss out on her transformation with the haircut and everything, but if the actress is unwilling, then that'd have to be cut out. and even if she were willing, if she couldn't pull off the plain but sweet before kyoko and also the off the wall, not afraid of anything after kyoko, then that wouldn't be very pleasing.

i'd rather see it as an anime, and i wouldn't mind if they used the same voice actors from the cd drama 'cause they were pretty good. the actor who did sho did a really good job of interpreting the ore-sama atitude. kyoko's actress wasn't bad either, she really went all out for the angry/evil kyoko parts >.< but too bad they don't always use the same voice actors for drama cds and anime. i think fushigi yuugi used the same actors for both, but i know that the other series i know have an anime and drama cd used different actors for the two...

I wanna see a Skip Beat! anime so badly, but I know it most likely won't happen at this point. It's too long of a series for a manga that isn't a fighting or action manga.

*sigh* I wanna see Kyoko's demons in full blown animation. I wanna see them moving as they strangle people and wriggle around and stuff. *sigh*

Live action might be cool too, but the demons would be left out and Kyoko wouldn't be so absurd I don't think.

but they made hana yori dango into an anime series when the manga series is like 34 or 36 or something. and they even had a weird little movie parallel universe thing o.O?

and fruits basket is under 30 vols, but it's pretty long too, but it's still got an anime...what else...i can't think of any more right now...but i'm sure there are more!!...

but is it the author's choice when a series is popular enough to have an anime and there's a pretty big fanbase/demand for the anime yet there isn't one? like hana kimi, that's pretty popular and most fans really want an anime, so is it the author who doesn't want to turn it into an anime or is it the production companies who aren't willing to make it into an anime 'cause they don't think it's worth the investment or they have other "hotter" series to involve themselves with?

I think a live action series would totally rawk meh fuzzeh socks. ^_^

I just love Asian Dramas.... and it should have a really cute opening theme song!

-giggles fangirlishly-

Oh yes. Another J-pop (Or K-pop... Or even Chinese) Pop music song to annoy my family with!

op/ed themes for anime are lovely too >.< maybe it's 'cause i watch more anime than asian dramas, but now that i think back on the ones i watched, many of them did have pretty nice themes....like my lovely sam-soon, i'm sorry i love you (the theme song was so dramatic that it fit perfectly with the sad scenes T^T)...and that's all the ones i can think of now...i know, not much >.>U....

An anime would be awesome, it could get more people to be familiar with the series and then they'd get addicted to the manga, because we all know (in *most* cases, the mangas are better than the anime). Then we'd have more people in here! ^^;;

The thing about a live-action is that in the manga, Kyoko is very, um, crazy, shall we say, and an actress may be unable to pull off the frenzied motion that is Kyoko. Now, I'm all for the live action if they can find an actress to pull off Kyoko, but since that is probably really hard, I vote for the anime.

i'd like to watch a live action
if the cast would be like in hana yori dango, it would be rly great

but who should act like ren? who looks as cool as him?
PostPosted: Thu Apr 26, 2007 6:49 am

hmmm good points about the live action. It'd be hard to pull off all the characters. Kyoko would have to be crazy and Ren has to be super tall and good yet evil. I'd want Mike He (from devil beside you) to be Ren only because I think he's hot lol Dont know if he'd make a good Ren though....As for Kyoko they'd have to come up with a new actrice because all of the Asian Actress's I think of dont match her personality at all. crying

My vote is for the anime. In the anime, you can still keep the characters (as far as they way they act) the same. Live action tends to make a completely different storyline, (which at that point can either make or break a series completely). Now as far as VA's are concerned, I think that the Japanese VA's would be better than the English VA's if you're worried about voice butchering. Plus, the live action doesn't offer the exaggerated expressions. I look forward to the day when they come out with an anime Skip Beat!! blaugh

i love japanese voice actors, but sometimes the casting for voice actors gets really screwed up too. like in the wallflower anime, i didn't find the voice actor for yuki to be cute at all (i mean his voice). and yuki's supposed to be the one so cute that he gets mistaken for a girl sometimes too sad

I agree. I wasn't completly satisfied with the voice actors for Wallflower. Although I find it amusing that Kyohei is the same voice as Shikamaru from Naruto lol xd
