By now I'm sure we have all had a chance to explore the new Theater's feature. Despite some small issues, like my fellow viewers pelting the screen with tomatoes and humping down front, I think it went fairly well.
Come, its now time to speculate on the implications this new feature has with regard to the Battle System. For the first time we get to see interactive effects in multi-user 'room' (for want of a better word). I'm totally excited. mrgreen

It was very intersting to see how Gaian's responded to the throwables. The first theater I was in had the screen covered with tomatoes in seconds. It was also a mini laser light show, with the laser's starting fires (people throwing fire at the spots the other peoples lasers were pointed).
It's down right now but I'm to try self igniting the laser aim point.
I'm happy because this is what I was hoping to see all along. Unrelated visual effects being combined to produce new and creative things. It's so much better then a ridged class system with defined looks to every ability. smile Although I'll guess that BS won't be as free from as the Cinema.
Love the clinging fire. heart

The theathers, as so are towns, were only avaible because of the Battle System research and development. As new features such as those come up, the BS gets closer to us. When I read about fire balls, I ran into a movie ready to spend all my money to buy them (gladly they are free), because i think that they are the first actual attack form shown in Gaia. Now you can gather with friends and alternate turns throwing fire balls at each other while trying to dodge them. The items with limited amount of use introduce gaians into the ammo system, as a preparation for the possible ammo-related that may be put in the BaSys.
My general conclusion: Theathers makes us as close as we could be from the BS. But Gaia's always making us surprised, who knows what might come next to put down the fire of the gaians who desperatly want to battle monsters instead of justing kneeing in the grass and talking.

Though Gaia Cinema and Battle do have a couple similar aspects, they are totally different projects. Still, yes we are getting closer to battle every day. biggrin Lots and lots of progress has been made, and there's lots and lots left to do.

Mark_Vernon I'd like to point out that you don't go to a movie theater to be alone. Even in real life you don't go to be alone, or at least you shouldn't. They do have an option to watch it by yourself, but where's the fun in that?
Darn, sometimes it's no fun to have one of the developers posting. Ruins all the speculation fun. xd But please don't let my views stop you, I'd probably be E-lynched if you did. My compliments to the development team anyways, I never realized how advanced web-app development has become.

I'm working on it right now! Ok, I'm posting right now. xd But, trust me, we have a very dedicated team working on Battle every single day. It's a big project, so it takes time. And it'll be worth the wait. Brasten Darn, sometimes it's no fun to have one of the developers posting. Hmmm... perhaps I should stay out of the speculation threads a little bit. Or maybe I'll even start nefarious rumors to keep people guessing. ninja Quote: I never realized how advanced web-app development has become. Oh, my friend, Battle is no mere web-app. Battle is awesomeness melted down, purified, distilled, congealed and packed into a grenade with a solid-adrenaline detonator. It's like a double-barrel shotgun that shoots ninjas out of the left barrel and pirates out of the right one. And it never runs out of ammo ...
