Ausar had been dealing with his elder brother for too long. Since he was a baby Re had been making sure that he was unhappy. Now that he was a child, and slightly more independent, he decided it was time to strike out on his own.
Re had proposed playing hide-and-seek and Ausar had only agreed if only to get away from him. His brother wasn't as clever as he was and so it was easy to escape. Now he had been alone for an hour and finally found his way out of the dark forest and near a pond. Finally, some time away from his twin.

Jazz walked along the isle not with anywhere certain to go. She was just drifting as she did once in a while. Was it to watch over the isle as she was an elder? Was it because she was bored and wanted something to do? More then likely it was the latter.
After a while she came upon the pond and found a fae child sitting all alone. "What's a child doing all along?" She asked with a half smile.

Ausar turned to look at the voice from out of nowhere. He was shocked when they didn't wander onto another pae. Instead he was staring up at a female's long legs and into the face of what looked like a human. His little heart raced.
He didn't want to be rude but he didn't know what to say. Being shy, he hid his face in his hands and mumbled something to himself. This was the same game he played with Re when he tried to talk to him but because the human like woman didn't reply he knew that she hadn't heard him.
"Brother," he tried to explain, not using full sentences like Mouse liked. "Pick on me."

Jazz fell to her knees so she wouldn't be so much taller then the child. "Oh, yeah? I'm sure he didn't mean to...well he might have but maybe it was a joke? I hear brothers do that to each other." Jazz was an only child and a girl so she didn't really know.
"I'm Jazz. What's your name?" Jazz asked in a soft tone that was a bit sing-songy.

Ausar relaxed a little bit at her tone but he still was shy. The woman, Jazz, didn't seem to understand his brother. Re was always spiteful and always putting him down; in fact if Re found Ausar he'd probably pick on him right in front of her. He didn't like that idea.
"Ausar," he said timidly. "Re always mean. He don't like me."
It was tough for him to explain their relationship. Re was the dominant first twin while Ausar was the quiet one. Everyone always liked Re more and they never scolded him for picking on his brother so Ausar refused to talk...much.

Jazz nodded. "Well, even so he's your brother. I'm sure he'll grow out of it. Or is he older? Still nice to meet you Ausar." Jazz said as she sat down. She wasn't sure how to help the little guy. She didn't know his brother or why he was "mean" to him.
"Do you want to play a game?" Jazz asked as she smiled at the child. Maybe that would cheer him up?

((Sorry...My boyfriend came up this weekend and I started work on Monday...but I'm here now! XD ))
"He older,"Ausar said and held up his fingers. "By this many minutes."
Or at least that's what he had been told. Mouse had said that Ausar was the smaller and probably more dimwitted one, so he had to have been born last. It wasn't true though, he understood everything, he just didn't like talking when Re was around.
"Like games!" the fairy pae exclaimed excitedly. "What game?"

Jazz nodded. "Oh, I see. Still even the little-er brother can be big and brave too." She smiled sweetly at him. She wasn't even sure of her sons which was older. Not like she had seen Rain in a while.
Jazz smiled as the boy cheered up. "Well, what games do you know? What would you want to play?"
((Oh, that's okay I understand!))

Ausar squirmed when she mentioned being brave. He didn't want to be the hero, he just wanted his brother to leave him alone, and sticking up wasn't going to change that. Instead it'd probably just make Re even more spiteful.
"Paddy cake!" he exclaimed as he clapped his hands together. "Auntie Fre-fre always play it with Ausar!"

Jazz smiled. "Okay, Paddy-cake it is." She sat to where she was faceing the child. This way she could hit his hands like what was ment to go on in that game. "Paddy-cake, paddy-cake baker's man. Bake me a cake as fast as you can." She sang.

When Jazz started singing Ausar seemed to forget how to play the game. He was hypnotized by the sound of her voice; it was so lovely and Auntie Fre-fre's voice never sounded anything like that before. A blush came to his young face when he realized that he wasn't paying attention and he tried to concentrate harder.
"Paddy...baker's..."he sang in a very shy voice, afraid of adding his own childish melody to her voice.
As the game finished he put his hands in his lap and rocked back and forth like he often did when he was embarrassed. Part of him wanted to spend all day with Jazz, she was fun and sang really well, and he wanted to show her off to his brother. The other part of him knew that Re would try to steal her away from him and Ausar wanted Jazz to be his friend and only his friend.
Then from out in the forest came a voice.
"Found you!" Re cried as he ran out of the forest and tackled his younger brother.
Ausar went tumbling to the water's edge and flailed around as it hit his body. Feeling spiteful, and full of energy as always, Re ran into the water and splashed his younger brother with water. This in turn made his sibling cry loudly and only made Re laugh with triumph.
"Hahaha! Baby doesn't like water!" Re taunted as he threw more water on his crying brother, still unaware of Jazz's presence.

Jazz smiled at the boy as he seemed to like her singing. "I'm glad you like it." She said as his brother came crashing in. She looked at the other boy as he began to splash and taunt Ausar.
Jazz got up and walked over to them. "That's not very nice. You should be nicer to your brother, don't you think." She looked at him with a smile as she didn't want to scare him. She was rather large.

Re wasn't so easily intimidated. He stuck his hands on his hips and stuck his tongue out at her. Who was she to boss him around? She wasn't his mother.
"Whatever," he retorted, "hag!"
Then the splashing continued as his brother squealed and squirmed. Ausar kicked and screamed wildly at the air, thrashing this way and that all to try and avoid the water. What happened next was almost unavoidable.
A stray kick landed in Re's stomach, making him double over in pain. Realizing what had happened Ausar stopped struggling and watched somewhat silently as to what his brother would do. It took a few seconds but Re was on top of him in hardly a second. He tackled him to the ground and began kicking at him.
"How do you like that? Huh, baby?" he taunted madly.
Ausar saw his brother go down in slow motion and immediately wished he could take it back. Between sobs he had tried to say sorry but the words wouldn't come out. It seemed that around his brother he lost all nerve. He shuddered against himself as he watched his brother slowly get back to his feet.
Then came the kicks and the hurt. It didn't even seem to phase Re that there was an adult, an elder no less, standing right behind him. Ausar tried to look at Jazz to see what she would do but couldn't keep his eyes open long enough and wasn't able to stop the tears from flowing.

"No, no I'm not your mother nor a hag." Jazz said as she then watched the horror insue. What a mess and comotion. They were brothers? She wasn't even sure. Jazz had never seen anyone fight like that. And brothers? It was beyond her.
Jazz then did what she could. She tried to float the two up and apart. As that was her power. "Now, calm down. There is no need for that." Man, she did sound like a grandma.

Ausar continued to cry, even when separated from his brother. He hadn't meant to kick him, honestly! It was all just a mistake and now that Jazz was mad at him he was even more upset. He didn't want her not to like him!
He squirmed in the air, trying to curl into a ball like he usually did when upset. It didn't seem to work though. Instead he shut his eyes and covered his ears so he didn't have to listen to his brother or Jazz's anger.
"Let me down!" Re shouted as he fought viciously in the air.
Who the hell was this lady to punish him? Hadn't she seen that Ausar had kicked him? Honestly, what a stupid old lady! Viciously he fought against the air, using up all this energy quickly and tiring out just as fast. Soon his attacks slowed and he crossed his arms in mock anger.
"But he kicked me!" he protested finally.
