The dawns light crested the hill with the brilliance of a new day. The chocolate mare slowly stired as the yellow light caressed her features and warmed her to the light of day. The sky was a brilliant pink fading into purples and finally the familure blue.
She smiled softly and shook her short pale mane, the tresses bouncing over her chocolate neck like froth on a wave. Today was a brilliant day.
Kitara stood and streched out her long body, her nimble legs danced softly upon the green grass. She felt alive with the morning and the soft blanket of due the night had left in its wake fell off her back in glittering droplets.
Still, she couldnt help feel alone. Remy was off... with that other mare... and their children where off on their own. She hadn't seen her family in some time, and the fact that her parents didnt know that she had foals suddenly occured to her. Just how long had it been since she had seen them?

She had managed to get away from Nuka for the moment... Away from that damned stallion as well as away from the watchful eyes of her brother and father. She was miserable. They had clipped her proverbial wings, telling her that she had to stay put.
She snorted, trotting to the edge of the woods. They could go bugger themselves. She didn't want anything to do with them. No matter how tired it made her she was determined to but more distance between herself and the terrible stallions.

Kitara was making her way out of the valley, aimlessly wandering when she saw the framilure shape in the distance. She blinked a little and narrowed her eyes enough to make out the spotted form of her daughter. Chuckling softly she nickered to her, calling out her name. "Atsila!" she called.
Her legs quickened their pace as she cantered up to meet with the distance form. It had been a pleasnt surprise to see her daughter, she hadnt seen her often since she had been old enough to go off on her own. Much like Kitara had when she was old enough to leave...she wondered how her own mother must feel.
"Hello honey... how are you doing?" She asked as she finally became close enough to speak and not yell across the distance of the feild.

She froze, eyes going wide as she heard her name carried by the wind. Had they found her? Had they.... No. It wasn't the voice of a stallion that had called her name. It was not an angry sound. It was soft, welcoming... Accepting.
She tilted her head, entire demeanor softening as she caught sight of the chocolate mare. "Mama..." Such a comforting sight for her to see... But would she, in her current condition, bring any comfort to her mother? "Ah hate stallion's, Mama. Ah don't know how y'managed t'put up with Papa for so long. There ain't nothin' good about 'em... Always thinkin' they can bully you into listenin' t'what they say..."

The mare caught short of her daughter and softened her step to a gentle walk. A laugh escaped her as her daughter turned to her and began to rant, some how she had always known control would be an issue, if you told Atsila something she would purposely do the opposit just to see the reaction..and to spite the authoritive figure.
"Stallions require special.. handling. " She said with a smirk on her face. "come now, it cant be that bad. " Her smile began to waver a little as she looked her daughter over, was her belly fatter? Most likely just an over abundace of sweet spring grass...."Just..what stallion has been giving you trouble? "

Control was always an issue when one was trying to reign in something as wild as fire. She was not the sort of mare that wanted to be tamed by anyone. Her parents had both seen to it that she would become such through their genes as well as their teachings when she was young.
"Stallion's r'quire swift kicks an' lots o' distance b'tween you an' them." She snorted softly, tossing her head high in a way that left midnight blue mane fluttering against her neck. "Papa an' Sedi an' Nuka." Nuka might be a name that her mother had heard from her father... A stallion that he may have mentioned not wanting Atsila anywhere near.

The name nuka sent off some alarm bells in Kitara's mind. Mainly due to the fact that she had never met him and he wasnt part of the family. "Its to be expected from your Pa and brother. They are family and are only doing their best to look out for you, sometimes that can mean stepping out of line and comanding you do something you dont want to. Believe me I understand." She snorted softly and chuckled at the memories. "But what of this Nuka? He's not trying to change you into something he wants you to be is he?"
That was the thought she had jumped to, not to the fact that Nuka could in fact be a friend. No she jumped strait to a stallion trying to change her wild little girl into the perfect mare, waiting on him hand and foot. Such things where not unheard of after all. She snorted and shoved the thoughts from her mind, the whole thing had left a bad taste in her mouth.

She took a step closer to her mother, leaning her head against the older mare's shoulder. "They don't want me leavin' th'lake. They're tryin' t'get me t'stay in one place an' not go runnin'." Nevermind that they'd had good reason for doing so... She had threatened to run off and never come back, afterall. "Ah don't think they should have any sort o' say in where Ah go. Ah don't need lookin' out for. Are all stallions like that?"

"They what? Well now thats a different story then. Hon its your life, walk where you will, go where you will. Follow you own path. You're father may get pissed, but he can deal with me as far as I am conserned! I am surprised at them... Keeping your isolated like that, the nerve, and that Nuka fellow too? Darling he's bad news if he's ordering you like that. " she snorted, her white hoove diging into the soil.
"I have half a mind to go give your father a talking to right now, your brother too... Matter of fact I think I will.. Damnable men should know better. Here I thought I raised that boy right.. and Remy too. Bah.." She shook her head angrily.

Her brow furrowed slightly as she listened to her mother go on, realizing just how much like her mother she was. "Momma... Y'can't go yell at Papa." Well, she could, but if she let her mother yell at her father then she'd deserve to get yelled at too. "Ah... Think they jus' tryin' t'look out for me..." She snorted, stomping her own hoof at the ground. "But that don't mean Ah like it an' Ah ain't listenin'. Ah'm here aft'all, aren't Ah?"

Her daughters words did nothing to stear her away from going and hunting down the boys. "You're right, they are trying to look out for you. But keeping you pinned up line a child, Confined. TOLD to stay in one location is an abonination and I will not stand for it Atsila. You are a grown mare, and adult... You can lead your own life. " She sighed softly and shook her head.
"Those damnable stallions.. was beau in on this too? I really thought I had taught those boys better. Looking out for you and protecting you doesnt mean you cant go anywhere or do anything. Bloody hell. "

"No, Mama, Beau wasn't in on it. Ah haven't seen Beau in..." Her brow furrowed slightly. "Since we was all last t'gether an' started wanderin' off 'cause we was older." Had it really been all that long ago?
"Besides... Beau couldn't've been in on it. He wasn't there when they decided it t'gether 'cause Nuka said Ah was pregnant."

"Yes it has been awhile since we have all be together... " She sighed softly, though she was glad to hear that not all her sons where trying to hold her daughter down.
The last bit took a moment to register. "youre....what? You're still a baby child! how what.. why.. oh my.." she blinked and looked at her daughter, her jaw fell slack and she sighed...
Still, she couldnt exactly fault her daughter she had become pregnate with them with out meaning or wanting too, still she had hoped her daughter would have waited awhile before settling down. Having foals changed your life.
"Honey..."

"Ah didn't think..." Didn't know was more like it. "Ah jus'..." She let her head hang low, eyes closing. "Nuka... He says he ain't goin' no where but..." But she didn't want to stay. She couldn't imagine giving up her freedom for something like this no matter how real everything was quickly becoming to her.
It was real. It was happening. She had put on a bit more weight and, if she stood real still, she could feel movement from time to time. She hadn't told Nuka that... She wouldn't. Not when she still couldn't stand being on the same side of the lake as the stallion.
"Ah'm sorry, Momma..."

"Oh hon..." The chocolate mare took a quiet step towards her daughter and pressed her muzzle against hers. A loving gesture as she nuzzled her young daughter affectionatly a soft coo escaping her. "darling... there is nothing to be sorry for... You father and I didnt have you and your brothers in the most ideal situation, But you know what? I wouldnt trade any of you for the world...these things happen whether you plan on it or not. "
She blinked a little as the thought that she was going to be a grandmother finally seemed to dawn on her... and that her mother and father where going to be great grandparents.. and they didnt even know they where grandparents to begind with. "I think... " she added with a chuckle. "That a family gathering is in order... we both have some explaining to do."
