They've finally worked chao into the Sonic comic, and they've done it so well! The Lake of Rings is the Knothole Chao Garden, and Omochao is robotic due to exposure to Jules Hedgehog!
I'm quite satisfied! Now if only they'd work Cream and Cheese in...

....Didn't even think about that. o_O
Seriously; I just thought it was an omochao that got attached to Jules. Definitely clever of the writer, though.

One might wonder why over the last 173 comics, and the two seasons of the tv shows, we never noticed any chaos around the pool.

Well, the whole concept of the chao came around about six years after SatAM, too, Aaron. : p
Though, what I'm wondering more is....when the heck was that story taking place? I mean, both seem to deal with the whole Egg Fleet, but is this going on after *Spoiler #1* Antoine and Bunnie's wedding and *Spoiler #2* Espio's death (?!!...well, assuming it's for real....), or before? Or is it just a throwaway story that is just there for the heck of it?

Sea-Salt Ice Cream Well, the whole concept of the chao came around about six years after SatAM, too, Aaron. : p Hence "retcon". smile Quote: Though, what I'm wondering more is....when the heck was that story taking place? Given the length of time that stories seem to lie around Archie's office before being pulled off the slush pile, I wouldn't like to guess. I've no doubt that Ian could probably tell us, though - I'll ask him the next time he's around.

I agree! I bet they're going to get Silver in there next and Cream, Cheese, and Chocola have been around for...2 years now?!

Yes, that was a spoiler, but I'd hope most of you've read it. If not I'm sorry. sweatdrop
EDIT by Nuala: Just making that spoiler a little harder to read accidentally. smile

I'm still kinda hoping that he's restored somehow. Not sure if Sega would let an official character bite the dust for good...not sure, now.*spoiler*

The writing is getting better in Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog?
I stopped reading after the screwed up huge on the Chaos Emeralds origins.
Also, I forget the reason why Cream & Cheese won't be appearing anytime soon.

They hired a fan writer last year, and he's now the lead writer after Ken "The ego that ate Maronmeck!" Penders finally left (reasons officially unknown, but I doubt that his habits of treating the fans like crap and lying online about Archie policy did him much good).
The fact that he grew up on these characters and genuinely cares about how they're portrayed and the quality of the stories shows - even if I personally am starting to find his level of SatAM fanboyism (at least, in issues 173 and 174) a little unnerving, and worry about the long term.
Reasons on request if anyone's interested.
I think that Cream and Cheese're a rights issue. I'll try to clarify with Ian the next time I see him online.

Well, they appear in the Sonic X comic....No telling if or when they'll appear in the main series, though. There really hasn't been all that much in terms of game adaptations in the comics lately...Whether that's good or bad depends on one's opinion. And even then, the tie-ins have been short throwaway stories, mostly serving as ads for the game. That, and maybe a few stories with references to them (Heroes and Shadow come to mind).
