Dahh, I think this is the part where you look at me strangely. YES, I've become addicted to J-Drama. I can't help it, all of the series I've watched up to this point have been done so professionally, and are just awesome, to put it simply, to NOT like them. I started with Hana Yori Dango (the drama live action) and just FELL IN LOVE. Not only with Tsukasa & Tsukshi squee!worthy pairing <33, but with the fact that they were real people to fangirl over. Like Matsumoto Jun. :dies: heart God, to fangirl over...someone shoot me. Series I've seen so far: -Hana Yori Dango I (only watched 1 ep of season II so far) -1 Litre of Tears -Nobuta wo Produce -Nana Planning to watch:-Kimi Wa Petto -Kurosagi -Gokusen -Water Boys -Goong (K-Drama) -Dragon Zakura -Honey & Clover live-action Anyway, point of discussion:
-watch any J-Drama? -let's talk about the ones you've watched -any recommendations -general obsession -any favorite actors? ;D MATSUMOTO JUN <333

ME LIKE J-DRAMAS.
But I only seen a few.. -shot- I just started watching some recently. I really love 1 Litre of Tears. I cried so many times. @.@ But it's still such a beautiful story.
I really want to watch more dramas but I decided to watch more when school is over.. since 1 Litre of Tears made me stay up all night watching it. I got exhausted at school because of it. xD

There's been an Asian drama craze in our country for about four years now. We started off with the Hana Yori Dango (called Meteor Garden here... I wonder why) and everyone's all crazy about them now.
I know more Korean than Japanese, though. We've had Gokusen, but you might want to try Hana-Kimi (Hanazakari no Kimitachi-E). It's a manga that's played by Taiwanese... still pretty good. I heard NANA was also something worth watching. Another is Ikebukuro West Gate Park - this is more of a crime drama, though. The manga's real gory.
Now, if you asked me about Korean drama, I can name a few good ones. Goong, also named Princess Hours, is one. Another is the Endless Love series (it has four stories for each of the four weather seasons, I think). And maybe you could get into Lovers in Paris.

I haven't seen that many either, don't worry. xD AND YES. I can't count the number of times I cried during 1 Litre. The whole story was just so touching. I can't even pick a favorite because I really did love everyone in that family. crying Though, Asou-kun was awesome. I love how he stood up for her even when she didn't believe in herself. I think it was the part where her sister discovered her illness that I cried the most. DD: I tried to time the amount of episodes I'd watch per day. 1 Litre would leave me exhausted after I would watch it because I would continually tear up after every episode. So it took me two weeks to finish it. >> Tenshi no Hana-chan I know more Korean than Japanese, though. We've had Gokusen, but you might want to try Hana-Kimi (Hanazakari no Kimitachi-E). I've only watched a Korean movie up to this point and that was "My Sassy Girl" which I loved. xD I haven't heard of the other two, but I'll put it on my "to watch during the summer and during college" list. b; As for Hana-Kimi, I own the first eight manga volumes. It would have to depend if the live-action is better because I sort of lost interest in the manga. @__@ NANA is good, but not as much so as the anime/manga, in my opinion. The scenes are not as dramatic as I would hope them to be. Thank you for the recs. heart

Ooh. I LOVED My Sassy Girl! We watched it during our class Christmas party during sophomore year because our adviser had a CD... he kept telling us about how even he cried during that scene wherein the guy was telling the girl's date about the ten rules to dating her. I almost cried during that scene too.
Hana-Kimi was good, but I only have one complaint about it - Mizuki doesn't look "cute" as a guy. She was like Amanda Bynes in She's The Man - short hair with a round face? Yeah, like that. We were expecting something different. But it was good nonetheless.

That movie was both hilarious and saddening at the same time. I loved how butch the girl acted. Every time she would say "you wanna die?" I would crack up. Ah, that poor guy. xD
That scene had me in tears too. I also almost cried during the part where she tells the guy (his name escapes me at the moment) to go to the mountain in front of her because she wanted him to see something. And then, when she knows he can't hear her she tells him she likes him or something to that effect.
crying heart
As for Mizuki, are we talking about the live-action version? I've just gone and looked up the drama on YouTube and only a music video came up, but from what I see it seems like a GUY is playing her part....as a guy. Yeah, not cute at all. sweatdrop But I could be wrong. >>

I love dramas. For some reason, I seem to prefer them over the dramas shown here in the US. Laguna Beach and the OC just didn't appeal to me. Then again, those are reality shows... Oh wait, nevermind, they're packed with more drama than soap operas and high school COMBINED.
As for dramas, I've watched a bit... I actually prefer Korean and Japanese dramas over Taiwanese because I find the acting to be better. Though, if I'm in the mood for humor, Japanese dramas all the way.
Dramas I've seen (most of/completed) -A Millionaire's First Love (A Korean A Walk to Remember-esque movie) *-Devil Beside You -Dragon Zakura *-Gokusen (Both seasons) <3 *-Hana Yori Dango (as well as Meteor Garden, though I can't say it was as good) -Haruka 17 *-He was Cool (The movie seemed to move too fast. There are some parts where you're just thinking "Already?" and "WTF?" But other than that, it's pretty entertaining.) -"Iryu ~Team Medical Dragon~" (Only a few episodes) *-Lovely Complex (A personal favorite. Koike Teppei ( heart ) is in it.) *-Marmalade Boy *-MARS *-Nana *-Nodame Cantabile (Another Personal Favorite) -Shopping Hero (I've seen a bit, here and there.) -And a couple more... but I can't seem to remember their titles.
Planning to watch: -Densha Otoko -Honey and Clover -Itazura na Kiss -Kamikaze Girls -Kimi wa Petto -Love in Magic -Nobuta wo Produce (I saw a few episodes and I never had the chance to finish it.) -Otakus in Love -Sad Sonata -Stand Up (Sort of like a Japanese version of American Pie) -Waterboys (The second season has Koike Teppei in it, so that's a WIN.) -Winter Sonata -I actually downloaded "My Sassy Girl" and it's in my iPod... but I'm too lazy to watch it. redface
I totally suggest watching Nodame Cantabile - the live action drama (since there is an animated version too). Both are entertaining. If you like classical music with a bit of dramallama and rofl , then that's the show for you.
Lovely Complex is a good movie too, packed with loads of humor and cuteness. There's also a special surprise for you if you're a WaT fan. (Spoiler: Wentz is in there. Care to play "Where's Waldo Wentz?")
* --> I recommend.

The voice is pretty much a girl's (but of course you wouldn't know that because it was a music video), only made to be a bit deeper. She does not look cute. It's a pity. But I bet if she were a girl, she'd be totally cute.

i m o g e n NANA is good, but not as much so as the anime/manga, in my opinion. The scenes are not as dramatic as I would hope them to be. I agree with that statement. I acutally watched the movie first and then the anime series. I found myself preferring the anime over the live action version. But the music makes me happy~
I want to watch NANA 2..for fun.. and just to see Mika Nakashima perform again. x3 It's a bit upsetting for me that Aoi Miyazaki didn't reprise her role as Hachiko though.

xDD Koike Teppei is the REASON for my wanting to watch Water Boys. & (Gokusen) Squeeeeee@WaT. <33 Hm, I've heard good things about Dragon Zakura from a friend, though I'm having trouble figuring out if it's a K-Drama or J-Drama. @_@ And yayy, Nobuta wo Produce! I was pretty slow with the series too (the episodes are friggin lonnnnnnnnng) but eventually I got through. It's definitely worth the watch. heart HONEY&CLOVER<33. I'm a fanatic of that anime/manga but I've never really looked into the live-action. I've actually heard it's a bit difficult to understand but I might look into it. Solely to see who plays Morita. heart xD My Sassy Girl ftw. DD: <33

;D I was actually ready to watch My Sassy Girl yesterday, but then I ended up watching I'm Married to Hell or something. Nakama Yukie is in it so I'm happy. :] And Dragon Zakura is a J-Drama. I believe Koike is in it too. <3
;DD Another Koike/WaT fan? Woo!! Did you see that video of his abs? YES! HE has a ABS! If there was ever a Naruto: Live Action, he could totally be Sai... >.> And there's also this video where Eiji and Koike go to a hot spring...
And guess what you see?
Can anybody say "badonkadonk"? heart
I favorited it. 4laugh
