At our school we have a drum god we worship, and then we have a chant.
Anyone else have any percussion rituals?

i know the pit in our school is now caslled the noisy wheels of joy ^^...and its apperently a ritual to poke spueak with mallets...cause he's a big ^^

Wow no ones posted here for a while. Well for me its everyone in battery gather around a yoda thing we have that says something everytime you press the button and listen to yodas advice.

and during winter season we always have a short little jam session before we go on, just a quick beat to get into it ya kno?

We have a pit circle, our tow section leaders get on the 50 at two different places and we cross our arms and join hands.
Then our Tech comes and is like focus.. blah blah blah
then our BD Mr. Steff (We have 3) comes over and messes with the shortest person.
Of course this is only at competition.
And after they leave and before the drum majors run off we say.. Unity and break.

Before every performance, we get a "Motivational speech" (High fives down the line) from Snuffy, or giant Mexican snare player.

we do the percussion wave.
we also haze the freshman. acually, everyone has their own personal freshman. but you dont haze yours.
i proudly was the freshman of three different people at the same time.

i have to wear my Bloo hair clips(from fosters home for imaginary friends) cuz i think they are luckey, cuz, if i wear them, i don't mess up that much, and once i didn't wear them, and i allmost dropped my sticks 3 times, so, i allways wear them now xd blaugh

we (all twelve or so of us) sit around this couch (the removeable seat of a van) and talk. three sit on the 'couch' while the others sit in chairs, on buckets, or on drum thrones.
then we just sit there when we start to play a song when we feel like rebelling against our band teacher when hes being a cranky old man.

TehOnezorz we do the percussion wave. we also haze the freshman. acually, everyone has their own personal freshman. but you dont haze yours. i proudly was the freshman of three different people at the same time. not ta dis on yer line... but thats kinda gay. the freshmen in our like are pretty respected because some of us (me and silas. me mainly) are almost as good as the seniors. id say im the best out of the freshmen, though. only on snare, though. i suck at set.
