Rikku had her daddy's credit card.
Sure, she had her own money, but when she told her parents that she was planning to pop the question to Locke, Jack insisted that she did some shopping using his card.
..... He'd get hell from his wife later.
But until then, Rikku was at Traverse Town's mall, looking for a ring...
.... And some nice panties...
.... And maybe a few blouses....
And some jeans...
And maybe she'd look at some wedding dresses....
.... Ehehe.

Terra had awoken early that day, after her date with MacBeth she had gone home and spent a good portion of the evening yapping to her best friend, Rikku on the line. Somewhere during that conversation, Rikku mentioned 'the question'.
Shocked, and awed by this, Terra had practically jumped up and down with excitement. Locke and Rikku made such a cute couple in her mind, she couldn't help but jump at the chance to go help her friend pick out something suiting.
Not to mention, any excuse to go shopping was fine in her books. An adult she may be, but she wasn't that old! Shopping would forever be a love of hers.
She'd met up with Rikku in the mall, with promises of showing her to some of the best stores. With every intention of doing so, she had laughed when she'd found out her friend had 'daddy's' credit card.
"So, where do you want to start?" looking up from a bench, Terra drummed her fingers along the metal arm.

Rikku looked at the card, then at Terra, then at the mall.
"Well, we need to get you some things for your next date with MacBeth," she winked, "How about Victoria's Secret?"
Laughing, she shook her head, "Or we could go ahead and look at rings... but I think undies would be a lot more fun right now. What do you think?"
Without waiting, she ran on ahead (barreling through some other customers) towards the models wearing the lacy underwear.

"I gu..." cut off shortly after she started speaking, Terra shook her head and hopped up, taking off after the blonde. Some kids just had no patience! Really.
Not that she hadn't already known what Rikku was wanting to do. Terra wouldn't complain though. She loved shopping for underwear, and the store sold some really nice hair accessories as well.
Yes, she was a material girl.
So sue her.
A few moments behind Rikku, she entered the store. The walls were dark colours. Rich reds, blues and a lot of black as focal colours. She figured it was to better show off some of their brighter coloured accessories.
Moving over to a table, she lifted up a leopard print thong and grinned over at her friend. "Hey Rikku! I think you'd get Locke's attention with these."

Rikku laughed and walked over, "I don't know, I prefer tiger stripes myself." She pondered, "I wonder if they have any..." She started to dig through, before pulling out some panties with silk roses embroidered into them.
"Kinda tacky, but I think MacBeth would like them... he's a corndog, anyway."

"That may be, but I still will not wear those. Eiw. Somehow roses on underwear makes me think of granny panties. Don't ask me why." Terra snorted as she almost recoiled from them.
"I prefer red, or black." she mused, "At least you're in the right direction with the silk." laughing she turned to start looking around the rest of the store. There were a great deal of mannequins standing around. All wearing the most up to date in 'sleep' wear.
Walking a bit further she came to a low cut nightrobe styled after a Kimono. It was green and she nodded for Rikku to come over. "This may look not so bad on yah."

"Oooh, now THAT I like," Rikku said as she pointed to the kimono, "Green's one of my favorite colors, other than orange..."
Rikku tilted her head, "But do you think Locke would like it? I want to drive him -crazy-..."
She grinned evilly to herself before announcing, "I'll buy it!"

"I'm sure you could convince him that he should like it." the woman behind the counter's attention perked as Rikku called out with enthusiam.
"Alright. Should we get anything else while we're here then?"

"No, I think I found something." as Rikku had been speaking, Terra's eyes had fallen on something she seemed to like. Moving passed her friend she came to a small white nightgown. It was short on the legs with a bit of lace at the top. Spagetti straps, and very satin-y.
"I think this will do just fine."

"Wow..." Rikku breathed, "Mack'll love that."
She quickly put the kimono on the counter and offered the card to the woman. After a quick swiping and signing, Rikku picked up her bag and waited for Terra to make her purchase.

Terra followed suit, waiting a moment while Jack's card went through for her friend's purchase. She put her card through when her purchase came around, signed the paper and took the bag in her free hand, looking down at her watch.
"Well, it's still really early. Where do you want to head off to now?"

Rikku swallowed nervously.
"Can we... look at rings now?" She held the bag in both of her hands, her heart beating quickly.
"I managed to get his ring size awhile ago, I hope it'd still fit..."

"Sure." A warm smile crossed Terra's face as her friend suddenly took on an almost, sky and scared attitude. It was so out of character for Rikku, it was almost, to Terra, childlike.
"There's a really good store for rings down this way, c'mon." she motioned with her hand down the lane towards a small, brick shop that was inset the strip mall. She pushed the door open and a bell chimed.
Inside was a large assortment of rings, bracelets and other accessories. An eldery woman was behind the counter. She had a soft, grandmotherly face. The kind that would get up in the morning to make breakfast and bake cookies.

Rikku peeked inside and saw the shinies.
"WOW!" she ran in, bouncing from counter to counter and looking at all the jewelry.
"Oh man, oh man, I wonder what he'd like? They're all so gorgeous, but I want him to look cool, too."
Rikku continued to fret about, her hair practically frazzled.
She was obviously very nervous.
