Ourania's home has not been illustrious in quite some time, ever since she received her first pet to be precise. The structure lies on a flat plain near a forested area rife with ancient oaks. A network of old, dirt trails pave the way to the house and the only well-worn one is the path from the backdoor to the gardens.

It is a mere two storeys but stretches out long enough, an approximate two acres, to house an assortment of housemates and guests in a semi-comfortable fashion. The exterior is a vision of slightly chipping violet paint and clean (except for the occasional snout/paw print) windows. The house possesses four bedrooms, a small library/writing room, kitchen, living room, a tiny laundry room tucked in near the kitchen and an ominous attic. All floors are hardwood so any 'accidents' are easy to clean. The only exception to this is the master bedroom, which actually has pale carpeting. The living room is mostly untouched, it is the writing room that shows the most recent signs of life. A single desk amidst towering bookshelves is covered in scrolling papers and pencils of various shapes and wear. In the kitchen there is a faint burned smell that tells of failed cooking attempts.

There are three separate gardens in back, one for herbs, one for vegetables, and the last for floral arrangements which hardly ever reach blossoming due to Odin's frenetic love of digging. A short fence around the perimeter keeps the smaller or younger housemates from subsequently ruining her faraway neighbors' yards as well.

Always there is the sound of laughter and music pouring forth from the open windows. Chimes near the front door call to weary strangers, inviting and full of poignancy that can only be half understood.

Welcome to the home of Ourania and her family.

Na'ir is a strict Kederi who keeps the rest of the household in line whenever Ourania is away. He often flies her to different areas, always muttering to himself about being the resident airplane.

Arun is a cocky, somewhat mischevious individual who likes to drive Na'ir up a wall. He is extremely opinionated and enjoys travel, though he appears to have settled down with little issue in Ourania's home for the time being.

Amaranthis is a .exe with a challenging attitude. She believes that she must be better than those around her or suffer some dire, made up consequences. She does have a softer side, however, which appears when she is occasionally helping Freya take care of the kids in the house.

Freya is a surprisingly tidy little winged-dustling who keeps order in the house when Ourania is absent. She enjoys quiet time to herself, not a commodity in the place where she resides, but will act as surrogate mother and referee if the need arises.

Odin is the opposing side of the coin to his housemate Freya, messy, clumsy and still a child at heart, he has a kind disposition and a protective attitude. He tries to bring the shy population of the house together so that they won't be as alone anymore.

Ourania cupped the strangely colored stone in her hands, feeling it emit a series of warm pulsations. She likened it to the beating of a heart although she was nearly certain that the little stone had no such available organ. She stroked it with her thumb, wondering faintly how she had managed to adopt such a little beauty.

The Teyco Sanctuary had been packed the day she had gone in seeking a child to adopt. People had been filling out forms crazily, piles of soon-to-be-scattered papers stacked on the floor and eraser shavings apparent on the soft carpeting. The pale woman had almost turned back and ran out the door right then, nervous at the thought of competing with these people for the right to act as guardian to these unique children. But her shaken resolve had strengthened just in time and so she had gone to the office and asked the harrassed looking secretary for the proper forms.

Filling them out had been a quest all in their own. She promptly forgot her social security number and so had to dig through her bottomless purse to recover it. She had finished last, all the other parents crowding around the office and shoving papers in the secretary's face.

She felt a brief pang of despair when she realized that the Sanctuary might frown upon single parents, but quickly forgot about it when she and a separate couple were lined up to go view the children.

When they entered the pleasantly decorated room, the silence was pervasive. Ourania shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot, wondering where the kids were. It was then that she spotted the stones, glittering fiercely on the velvet of their separate boxes.

"They're... rocks." she heard the husband of the couple murmur, quickly shushed by his wife's stare.

But they weren't, Ourania could tell instinctively that they were much more. There were only four, one that stared like a golden eye, another that boasted bright streaks of red and yellow, a pale, flowery stone, and then a purple stone with veins of paler lavender scouring its surface.

It was the last stone that caught her eye, but as she leaned in closer to examine it, the woman snatched it up from its casing, staring at it uncertainly. Ourania withheld a gasp, feeling slightly irritated that the woman had touched the stone at all.

The pale young woman watched with a mixture of satisfaction and astonishment when the stone sparked in the woman's hands, as though protesting at the rough handling. The woman exhaled sharply and dropped the stone, a stunned expression on her prim features. Ourania rushed forward and dove, catching the stone in her palm before it hit the ground. She breathed a sigh of relief when the woman, stuttering and red, left the room with her clueless husband in tow. It was only after they had left that Ourania realized the stone wasn't performing the same trick that it had with the woman, it was silent in her hands, accepting.

She had been approved shortly thereafter and the stone, as of yet unnamed and genderless, had gone home with her.

In all officiality, the pale woman should have been at work, shuffling aimlessly down aisles or sorting through books that would-be customers had left on inappropriate shelves. But Ourania had called in sick that day, and was now in bed, curling her fingers protectively about the stone. She had a headache that felt too big for her head and food that wouldn't stay in her stomach, but when she gripped the stone she could almost feel the pains abate and settle. Ourania knew that it was probably nothing more than a placebo-like effect, but she didn't try to question it.

The television was on, playing some odd seventies cartoons that were typically reserved for children. Still, reruns of Scooby Doo made her laugh and the bubbling feeling kept her stomach acids from rearing up into her throat.

"I hate being sick." she mumbled to the stone, bringing it closer to her face. "But, I have to admit, it's nice to have someone else around." Even if they were a stone and probably couldn't comprehend what she was going on about.

Ourania was gradually beginning to feel better, one minute she was certain that a running trip with a hand clasped over her mouth was the best option and the next she just felt somewhat hungry. "Make up your mind." she muttered angrily to her insides, throwing the covers off of herself and going to the kitchen to make some tea.

Na'ir was reading the newspaper, but when he spotted her he put it down, running his hands over the crinkled portion and giving her his full attention. "I thought you were ill."

"I am." she replied faintly, knowing that she probably looked a bit mad clutching onto a stone in her nightgown with her hair frazzled and her eyes narrowed in pain.

The Kederi sighed, gesturing for her to sit. "Tea?" he asked, grabbing for the pot she had been straining for and a tin of barley seeds.

"Yes, please." she did sit, feeling slightly dizzy and nauseous.

She heard the rainbow-haired male tinkering about, water splashing against the kettle and the burner being turned on. It took her another full minute to realize how unusual this was. "It's quiet... too quiet."

"Raziel and Vashiel took everyone out for the day." Na'ir replied easily, waiting for the water to boil. "There's a carnival happening in Barton. They decided that it would give you ample time to recover in silence."

"You could have gone." the pale woman said softly, feeling mild guilt well up; she was old enough to take care of herself, regardless of how sick she felt.

"Me? At a carnival? You know I hate those things. I stayed behind because of that, not because of you."

Ourania smiled slightly, turning the Teyco stone over in her hands. The only time she had taken Na'ir on a ferris wheel he had screamed and cried and begged to be let down. He had been a child at the time, but she was certain he could still remember. "Thank you."

"Hmph." he set down the tea cup before her, taking another cup for himself. "Do you know what it'll look like?"

Ourania looked up, startled and thoughts fuzzed over. "What?"

"The stone." the Kederi said patiently, gesturing toward the purple gem in her hands.

"Oh... no, I don't." she took a brief sip of her tea, flinching at the flavor. "Na'ir, how could you possibly mess up tea?"

The rainbow haired Kederi''s expression was one of faint indignation. He took a brisk drink from his cup and it melted away into one of sheepishness. "I haven't a clue... I could only assume I received my cooking skills from you."

"Brat. Hand me some sugar before I gag. Barley's supposed to be bitter, but you took this to a whole other level."

After drowning the concoction out with the crystalline granuels, the two sat in comfortable silence, eyeing the stone in the center of the table.

"I don't really know anything about the gem." Ourania confessed finally, the tea warming her hands. "I don't know even know the gender."

Na'ir shrugged, putting his own empty cup in the sink to wash it out later. "Then it provides you with more excitement when you do know."

"Yes... yes, I suppose." she handed him her cup when he reached for it, picking up the stone. "I'm tired... I think I'll sleep a bit more before they come back."

Na'ir nodded, washing the sluggish mix of sugar and tea from her cup. "Call me if you need anything."

The pale woman retreated to her room, shutting the door behind her and crawling back into the bed. The gem was warm against her palm as she began to fade in and out of consciousness, all the while wondering how she could love something that she knew almost nothing about.

[Thread Rp: Ourania, Unknown Stone, Adako, Sephiroth, Mei Ling, Keo, Lucifer]

Seraph:(( you can't be that bad dear. I will warn you though You will become the center of a very curious cat boy's world. xd ))

Seraphina_Angel
Walking along she held hands with her smaller brother. He seemed in better spirits today since the last time they had come here Adako had been sullen and quiet. Almost as though he didn't want to meet the others of this sanctuary anymore.

It would be a shame since he was so small and still had some many years with which to learn Mei Ling thought to herself.

Holding tight to Mei Ling's hand he looked around curiously as he went along. His large feline eyes taking in every detail no matter how small.

In truth he was looking out for that mean little boy that lived with them but he wouldn't tell Mei that cause she worried about him. One of these days when he wasn't so small anymore he was going to teach that meanie a lesson.

Trailing behnd the other two he looked as bored as he felt. Seraph had taken to making him go with these two to the sanctuary.

Hissing out a sigh he did his best to not get annoyed at how slow they both walked. He had things he wanted to do and spending time here wasn't it.

Ourania:((That's alright. I have a soft spot for kitties... heart And thanks DK, I was trying to make it not-so-sucky.))

Lady_Ourania
Ourania was outside the Teyco Sanctuary, biting her lip and trying to work up the nerve to go inside. It had been far worse when she had gone to claim a stone, but today she wanted to view some of the children and was uncertain if that would be considered creepy or not. She just wasn't entirely sure what to expect, and didn't want to prove to be a pathetic excuse for a guardian.

The pale woman sat on the pavement outside, looking at the stone in her hands silently and praying that whatever gender it was, whatever personality it possessed, it wouldn't dislike her.

Seraphina_Angel
Narrowing his eyes Adako picked the woman sitting on the curb out before anyone else.

Tugging on Mei's arm he said "Mei look there's a woman sitting there. What does she want?"

Feeling the tug Mei Ling looked down and smiled at Adako before looking where he was pointing.

"I'm not sure who she is and well we won't know why she is sitting ther unless we talk to her." MeiLing said gently. The lady looked nice enough so she hoped that Adako didn't get his feelings hurt again.

Looking up as he heard them speaking he noted the woman sitting on the curb. His lips drew into a think line and he had to repress a sneer of disgust at the sight.

Great another woman with a stone.

Lady_Ourania
Ourania felt vibrations of footsteps through the concrete and glanced up, spotting three individuals who had obviously taken note of her. Two possessed cat-like characteristics while the third was mostly human and she recognized them to be Teyco. She stood slowly, noting that while two of them simply looked curious, the silvery-haired one in the back was just barely able to stand the sight of her. Her mind raced, trying to remember if she had ever seen him before and acted in an ill-manner toward him, but she could think of nothing... did she have something on her face?

Seraph:((Sorry about him he doesn't like woman. he was abandoned by his last owner who was a female and he took it hard. sweatdrop ))

Seraphina_Angel
Letting go of Mei's hand he began to run off ahead of the other two, he wanted to know all about this woman and if she was a meanie he was going to getv rid of her before she could be mean to Mei or Sephy.

Running on all fours he stopped short of Ourania a small frown on his face.

"Who are you?" he asked starting a slow circling of the woman.

"Be careful Adako." Mei ling called after him as she watched him take off. She didn't figure this woman would hurt Adako but she still had to mother the boy a bit.

Hissing slightly under his breath he felt anger rise in him as Adako ran off to talk to the creature.

He had told Adako that woman were the root of evil in the world why would he want to talk to it? His anger turned to annoyance and he balled his hands into fists to keep from walking over yanking Adako away from the horrid thing.

Ourania:((Nah, I don't take stuff like that to heart if I've only just met them... and that's really sad...))

Lady_Ourania
Ourania watched the little cat-boy, trying very hard not to smile. He was simply adorable although it was not intentional. "I'm Ourania Eridanus." she supplied easily, watching him circle her. "And who might you be?"

She smiled at the woman of the group, hoping to show that she wasn't a crazy who would snatch up the boy and run. She attempted the same thing at the older male but stopped halfway through, figuring he wouldn't appreciate it and rubbed the stone in her palm with her thumb instead.

Demented Kid
Keo and the familar moody looking Lucifer were walking up to the Sanctuary as he noticed everyone standing outside of the building itself today. Raising an eyebrow Keo walked his way over to Mei Ling. "Hey Mei, why aren't you guys inside?"

Lucifer was just looking on in a moody fashion, his hair still dangling over his left eye with his arms crossed. Well, if this was all the people who were going to be here today then he shouldn't bother going into the building today. His eye galnced over at Sephiroth though and he couldn't help but smirk a little at how pissed he looked.

Seraph:((Yeah it was sad. I got heart broken when I heard and had to adopt him right away. sweatdrop Poor guy.))

Seraphina_Angel
Leaning in a bit he sniffed the air to get her scent better before sitting back on his heels to look at her. He had been told not to talk to strangers but he couldn't stop himself from doing so since she was new and he wanted to know about her.

"I'm Adako and that is my sister Mei ling and my brother Sephiroth. We live with my daddy at his castle. Where do you live?" He said in a small but fast voice that seemed to squeak every now and then.

Mei ling smiled back at Ourania as she walked up to where they were standing. Well she didn't seem too bad.

Seeing Keo she smiled and waved "Hi Keo we only just got here so we were on our way in but seem to have found ouorselves a new friend.

Feeling Lucifer's eyes on him he looked over his stare was cold and penetrating as he took measure of the small young man.

When Lucifer smiled at his obvious dislike of the situation he quirked an eyebrow at him as if to ask so what.

Lady_Ourania
The pale woman's eyes softened at the little boy's chatter, her heart light. "I live in a little house a few miles away from here, it certainly isn't a castle, but it's big enough for everyone that resides with me."

She suddenly realized that others had joined them, and snorted internally at the irony. Ourania had wanted to view other Teyco and was now overrun by them. At least only one of them was giving her a dirty glare. "Hello." she greeted shyly to the newest two, resisting the urge to stand up so that they wouldn't all be looking down upon her.

Demented Kid
"Oh I see." He grinned, his fox ears flicking up in delight. Turning to the new woman, he smiled welcoming and holding out his hand. "You must be one of the new owners? I'm Keo, the Teyco who looks after things around here. If you have any questions just come ask me, ok?"

Lucifer, did not reply to the hello that the woman gave, he was turning facing Sephiroth, a faint red glow appearing from under his black hair as he stared at him. The eye in view was wide with delight at the sight of him, and he was still smirking just a little. My My, wasn't Sephiroth an angry little boy? So much blood.... So much red...

Seraphina_Angel
"We can't live in a house unless it was really big cause I have lots of brothers and sisters. I have my own room it has blue curtains." Adako said starting to ramble as he decided he liked the lady.

Watching as Keo gave the woman a warm welcome she tried to memorize some of it so she could help later on if he needed her to.

Not liking how Lucifer was looking at him he practically glared at the young man as he turned away now bored of his mere presence. How exactly was someone to take an inquisitive stare like that?

Well he could run off to find his heart covered little boyfriend cause this guy was certainly not interested.

Lady_Ourania
Ourania nodded indulgently to Adako, trying to keep up. "How many siblings do you have? Is blue your favorite color?" she asked, tempted to pet him and wondering if the little cat-boy ever ran out of air. She took Keo's offered hand with the one unpreoccupied with a gem. "Yes, I am. And thank you, that's very kind and I'll probably take you up on it."

Demented Kid
"Very good, anyway, shall we all go inside? I could make us some tea or whatever you desire." He said with a pleasent grin. "You want to help me, Mei?"

He chuckled darkily before composing himself and returning to his cold features, his eyes still containing that shimmer of delight. He'd never seen so much blood on anyone other them himself, it was even trailing off of him onto the floor. Perhaps there was more blood on this teyco then even him and this intrigued the Teyco greatly, sparking his curiosity.

"You have alot of blood on your hands..." He said to the Sephiroth, the smirking appearing for only a second and then disappearing once more as the red glow disappeared from behind his hair.

Reaching a hand under his hair, his eyes became more cold and he walked away from everyone else and turned his head so no could see if he let slip his face in view. The edges were becoming painful again.

Seraphina_Angel
"Yeah I like blue it is good when it is dark cause it hides things better. I have this many." Adako said holding up his hands and showing all of his fingers.

Finally noticing Keo there his large eyes got bigger and he skittered behind Ourania. Oh no it was one of those big Teyco again. Grabbing hold of her leg he hid his face in the back of her knee. That meant the horrible one was here too.

"That would be nice Keo and yeah I can help if you want." She replied happily. She liked to spend time with Keo, he was very calming.

Seeing Adako run to hide from Keo she frowned slightly. "Adako honey don't do that, Keo is a friend." She said trying to get Adako to come back out.

Looking at Adako he huffed slightly under his breath. The stupid kid was cuddling the woman and hiding from the man he really hadn't learned anything.

Feeling less then alright with the situation he decided that he didn't feel like going inside after all. Walking off he figured he would just sit outside til the other two wanted to leave.

After the other teyco's comment he didn't feel like pretending to be nice right now.

Lady_Ourania
"Tea would be lovely... oh!" she glanced down at Adako who had before been displaying a dubious number of housemates on his fingers and was now clinging to her leg. "What's wrong, little one?" she asked gently, putting a hand on his head for extra comfort.

She had seen the chilling exchange between the two less-friendly seeming Teyco and watched them both wander off in different directions. She said nothing, knowing that not everyone would like her or at least act as though they could tolerate her presence.

Demented Kid
Keo gave a Adako a small sad smile, along with drooping ears. They'd been ok before, he didn't see why Adako should fear him atleast. But he wouldn't force the boy to like him again, he'd have to round of his own choice. "Ok, let us go in then!" He smiled, turning around and heading towards the door.

Lucifer scowled angrily, for what reason he didn't know. He just felt enraged for some reason, replacing the hair back over the half of his face and turned to watch where everyone else was going. He then walked after the small group going into the building. He''d just hang around in the garden to calm himself.

As he past Sephiroth, he just gave him one of his usual 'looking down upon you' glares before entering the doors.

Seraphina_Angel
Seeing Keo move he scuttled around Ourania's legs and back to Mei Ling where he grabbed her hand and stuck close to her. He didn't like the bigger Teyco they turned out to be mean all the time. No matter how friendly they looked or seemed.

"Nothing" he said quietly at the women asking him questions.

Smiling a bit sadly back at where Keo had turned to leave. "Ok Keo we're on our way. Come on Adako we can help make the tea." she said trying to brighten up the now slightly saddened mood.

Not even noticing the glare shot at him from Lucifer he walked off towards the outdoor benches to relax a bit before having to deal with the morons again.

Lady_Ourania
Confused but not willing to push it, Ourania decided that if Adako was having problems, he would go to someone he knew to discuss it. She had just met these people, she couldn't wiggle into their lives and unveil their secrets. "Okay..." she looked at him a moment longer before silently following Keo into the Sanctuary.

Demented Kid
Following after Lucifer into the building, he gestured to where the living room was by the kitchen, trying to be a positive as he could be. "The main living room is over there, so please, help yourself to a chair and I'll join you and see if you have any questions you want answering." He smiled politely. "Do you take, sugar, or milk, by the way?"

Lucifer just moved on before anyon could even bother him, making his way to the garden and sitting himself on the bridge that spread across the lake.

Seraphina_Angel
Quickly skittering over to Mei ling he grabbed hold of her hand and watched Keo through big eyes to make sure he stayed well ahead of him.

Smiling as she tried to make the situation return to the light hearted scene it was before she said "So what has brought you here to the Sanctuary, Miss?"

Watching Keo she knew how much it upset him that Adako had turned away from him. She hoped he didn't take it too personally.

Lady_Ourania
Ourania tried to keep pace with the Teyco, unwilling to let her short stature make her appear slow. "Milk in the tea, if you please." she responded, cheeks flushed but her smile bright as she could make it.

She sat in a chair when she came upon one, hoping no one else had wished to occupy it, and shrugged uncomfortably to Mei's question. "I actually just wished to observe, clinical as that sounds." she admitted. "I'm... not really sure what to do with the child while it is in this state."

Demented Kid
Lucifer scowled and brow frowned as he just stayed where he was, trying to not let the other bother him as much as he was feeling. Hearing the question, he turned his gaze to the ground, the scowl disappearing and his face becoming blank. "Eros.. knew me when I first came out of my stone and looked after when I was a child. He cares for me and was not afraid to look at my face... He said no matter what I always looked beautiful." He replied quietly.

"Everyone else is too cautious when they try to get to know me, because I'm a forsaken. It's stupid. But Eros left me! He abandoned me and left me on my own!" He said quite angrily as the reflection of the red glow could be seen again as he clenched his teeth. "I never let anyone get so close to me so easily for then on. But Eros did come back and he was sorry.. But I still won't trust people so easily about what they say."

Keo nodded his head and went into the Kitchen, putting on the kettle and taking some cups out of cupboard. Turning to the kitchen door, he had forgotten to ask about Mei. "Hey Mei, Do you take sugar and milk?" He called out to her.

Seraphina_Angel
"I see. So then you have learned that you really can't count on anyone besides yourself. It's admirable however you should have learned something else from that as well and that should have been never to take your eye of the prize." he hissed out as he slipped a rag up over Lucifer's nose and mouth.

Lets see if Chloroform works on forsaken. He so loves tests.

Setting Adako in a chair in the room she decided togo help Keo in the kitchen with the tea.

"It's ok Keo I'll come in and help." she called before turning back to the lady and Adako "It's not clinical to try to be a better mother just treat them as a baby and you'll see that love returned ten fold." Her grin was friendly and open as he rouched down beside Adako.

"I'll be back in a minute ok?"

Looking at Mei he smiled a tiny smile as she went off to get the tea. Looking back at the lady he had to curb his curiousity about her for a bit til the big teyco's went away.

Lady_Ourania
The pale woman smiled gratefully at Mei's assurances. "Thank you." she said, inclining her head slightly. "I'll take your words to heart."

She watched the female leave, feeling a pair of eyes on her and turning to see Adako staring at her. "Question?" she asked, feeling inordinately friendly towards this little cat-boy.

Ourania: ((Wow, Lucifer's smexy... O_O ))

Demented Kid
He had breathed in deep in a gasp before he realised there was something on the rag that was shoved on his face. Something sweet smelling and he didn't think it was just placed there just for pleasure. Holding on his breath to try and refrain from breathing in again, he tried to get up out between Sephiroth and his hand. But no luck, his body felt weak and he couldn't get up all that much from his position on the floor. Instead, he reached a hand behind his head to push away the other, the other hand gripping at Sephiroth's hand and trying to pull it away with not much strength.

Keo smiled at Mei before returning into the kitchen to prepare some snaks for them to eat while drinking their tea and having a chat. "Does Adako like tea? I'm not sure wiether to make him one or give him juice or something."

Seraphina_Angel
His laughter sounded almost like a hiss as it came out and he dragged the boy back against his chest with his free arm. As he did this he tried hard to push as much air as he could out of the others lungs. Time for a big gulp of air deary he thought as he grinned evilly.

It was such a shame that he had decided to be difficult in nature now he would have to use force instead of friendly persausion to find out what he wanted. Though the information he had gotten from him was indeed useful.

"I think milk would be fine for him. He seems to like it. Maybe you could give it to him?" she said smiling hopefully at him.

Reaching itno the cupboards she pulled out some cups and saucers for the tea to be put in.

Shaking his head he bit his lips shyly. He wasn't gonna say anything that might get him in trouble anymore. Sephy told him that when people expected things out of you they normally asked you lots of questions to try and get you to open up to them and trust them. That way it was easier to hurt you cause they knew how better.

Lady_Ourania
Tilting her head to the side, Ourania shrugged. "Okay, you don't have to talk if you don't want to."

He had seemed like such a hyper little boy before, but with the coming of the other Teyco he had become quiet and tight-lipped. Don't push, she instructed herself.

Demented Kid
"That's if he takes it off me." He said with a slight sigh as he smiled back at Mei, taking some biscuits out of a nearby cupboard and beginning searching through another for a plate. "Though, I guess I will give it a try."

Grinned, trying to be positive about it and wagging his fox tail a little. Perhaps Adako would change his mind about him, that.. Or think he was trying to poison him.

Seraphina_Angel
Looking from the left to the right he skittered off the chair and off around her chair to take a closer look again.

Coming up beside one of the arms of the chair he nudged her hand with his head looking for pets. He had treid but his little kitty mind wanted the pets her hand could provide and besides if it was just this once then it wouldn't hurt right?

"I'm sure he will take to you Keo. he is just a little put off by some of the other Teyco lately. He's so small and I fear that Sephiroth is warping his mind to be as hateful as his is." she said almost hesitantly as she didn't like to say bad things about anyone.

Looking down at the amazing face he had just uncovered he brushed a hand over the small frown before grinning and walking off towards home where he would satisfied his curiousity.

Lady_Ourania
Ourania startled when she felt something brush her hand, having been preoccupied with staring at the purple gem she was guardian to. "Adako." she giggled, stroking the little Teyco's red hair. "Silly little boy..."

Demented Kid
"Well, Lucifer didn't exactly help, did he?" He sighed, keeping the smile upon his face as he placed a few biscuits onto the plate and moving over to where Mei was with the tea.

"Things can't be helped though, Sephiroth is how he is, and the same for Lucifer too. Adako will just have to learn to have his own views of the world." He then gave her a big grin as he began pouring hot water into the cups with teabags. "It'll all turn out ok."

Seraphina_Angel
Unable to keep herself form grinning back she said "Yeah I guess you're right. He has a lot of time to work on getting to know people."

Picking up the tray with the tea on it she finished with "I guess we shall see how things will play themselves out in a moment hmmm?"

Purring as Ourania's hand stroked his hair he pressed his head further into the palm so it would scrub harder.

Turning his head slightly as he went he made it so her hand was rubbing his ear which caused the purring to become significantly louder.

In another moment he would likely slip into her lap for cuddles as well.

Lady_Ourania
Ourania rubbed the velveteen fur of Adako's ear, smiling at his reaction. She had always loved cats, they had comforted her when she was sad, kept her lap warm when she was busily working on some project or another, and laid upon her neck while she was sleeping. "You are too cute." she insisted, trying very hard not to gush.

Demented Kid
Nodding, Keo said. "Yes we will have to."

He picked up the biscuits and the milk and lead the way into the main room where the chairs were. "I've bought some biscuits incase you like some with your tea." He smiled, placing them down on the coffee table.

"And I bought you some Milk, Adako, Mei said you would like." He smiled at Adako, holding out his glass slightly.

Seraphina_Angel
Adako's purr became almost as loud as an airplane taking off before he suddeenly realized that keo was crouched in front of him holding something out to him.

His loud purring stopped suddenly and his small frame reeled back as he looked suspiciously at the glass in Keo's hand.

Setting the tray of tea down on the table there she watched as Keo attempted to give Adako his milk. Grimacing sadly as she saw the small cat boy hide away form Keo she almost went over and tried to get Adako to come out. However she realized that this was something that Keo and Adako had to work out otherwise they would need her around for all of their interaction.

So instead she handed Ourania her tea and then picked up her own before plunking into a chair with her own cup.

Lady_Ourania
Ourania removed her hand quickly so as not to scratch the little cat-boy when he swiftly shot back from Keo. The woman watched Adako uncertainly, wondering if it would be appropriate to offer words of comfort when Mei handed her a tea cup. She took it, warming her hands against the porcelain, and waited to see what Keo would do instead of trying to wriggle into the personal problem herself.

Demented Kid
Keo's smile fade slightly as Adako moved away and he titled his head slightly. He guessed that the young child was going to act like this. "It's ok Adako, if you think I've done something to the drink, I'll drink a little and prove it to you."

He then tried to make his smile warmer and more caring. "I wouldn't harm you, I've done no such thing before, have I?"

Seraphina_Angel
His small cat ears flattened against his head and a small hiss came out of his mouth as Keo spoke. His small frame was less then intimidating but he was trying hard to back the older Teyco off. He couldn't trust anyone that would travel with that nasty little creature scar face.

Sighing she tried her best to ignore the situation that was unfolding before her so she asked "Have you named the stone yet?"

Lady_Ourania
It was tougher than she had thought it would be, keeping silent while Keo tried to convince Adako that he only wished to be friendly. She turned at Mei's voice, flushing slightly. "Umm... no, I haven't, I'm not certain what gender it is... but I was thinking Morpheus if it was a boy and Ceridwen if it was a girl."

Demented Kid
Keo's smile fell, afraid to push the child any further away from him, he just placed the milk on the table closest to him and sat himself in one of the chairs, still retaining that smile upon his face. "They sound like good names." He said, picking up his own tea and taking a sip from it.

Seraphina_Angel
Looking at the glass on the table Adako moved forward and grabbed at it. Sniffing it he stuck his tongue in to taste test it first. Noting it tasted just like milk he skittered back to beside Ourania and extended his head again for more ear scratches.

Seeing Adako take the milk she said quietly "What do you say Adako?" He might not climb into Keo's lap and love him to bits but he could at least thank him for the milk.

Lady_Ourania
Extending her hand, Ourania laid it upon the small boy's head and smiled slightly. "Thank Keo for the milk and I'll scratch your ears." she instructed him, wondering if it was a good idea to give ultimatums to a child.

Demented Kid
"Heh, it's ok, aslong as he enjoys his milk." He said with a rather sad smile. He really couldn't understand it.

Seraphina_Angel
"No! We don't appreciate rude behavior. He knws what he is suppose to do so he is to do as he has been taught." Mei Ling said with a firm note in her voice that she didn't usually use. It was almost strage to hear it coming form the usually nonconfrontational young woman.

Looking up at Ourania he squinted kind of angrily before looking at keo when he spoke. that was right he didn;t have to thank the big Teyco he should make sure that smaller ones like him didn;t get hurt but he hadn't. He had let that meanie hurt his little arm.

Hearing Mei speak he almost cried as she used the mad tone on him.

his big kitty eyes filled with tears as he mumbled out "Thank you." Mei had never been mad at him before and he didn't like it.

Lady_Ourania
"Oh, don't cry." Ourania pleaded, feeling immediately like a monster. She quickly stroked his ears and hair. "It's just that Keo is such a nice person, why are you suspicious of him?"

Demented Kid
Keo's ears drooped at the sight of Adako, really he didn't want the child to be forced about saying sorry incase he got upset. "I-It's ok Adako, please don't cry!"

He placed his tea on the side and leaned forward off his chair slightly towards the young forsaken, really unsure of what to do.

Seraphina_Angel
Watching Adako she noted the other two getting sucked into that cute display of tears that he used when he got yelled at. Sighing she kept her mouth shut but she was going to give him a tongue lashing later for this.

He was just making things very difficult for everyone and she didn't know why.

Climbing up he cuddled in Ourania's lap as his little face filled with tear streaks. Burying his face in her tummy he tried to avoid the gaze of Mei ling that he knew he was getting.

Blinking up at her he asked "Am I a bad kitty?" Before pushing himself into her lap further. Looking back at Keo he stared blankly not sure if he should hiss or if he should get pets from him too.

Lady_Ourania
"Of course not. But you should try to be nice to Keo, he's not a bad guy." she rubbed the outside of his cat ears, a little surprised that he had crawled into her lap when he hardly even knew her. She looked to Keo and Mei Ling, wondering what it was that she was missing here.

Demented Kid
Keo just smiled comfortingly at her. "Don't worry about it, Ourania."

He felt a little relieved that he wasn't being hissed at but picked up his tea and sipped at it before it got cold. "Was there any questions you wanted answering?" He asked, hoping to move on from the situation.

Seraphina_Angel
Mei Ling's mouth became a thin line as she watched Adako turn on that cute draw he had about him.

Fine if he was going ot be like this then she wasn't going to yell at him cause at least he wasn't hissing at Keo anymore.

Doing her best to relax and go back to the happier mood of earlier today.

Curling up in Ourania's lap he simply watched quietly he wasn't going to talk about the big teyco anymore. Kneeding a bit he snuggled down and went to go for a nap as she scratched his ears.

Purring quietly in her lap he was content for now.

Lady_Ourania
She barely refrained from giggling when Adako performed a few very cat-like actions, continuing to gently massage and occassionally scratch his ears. "Actually, yes, I did have a few questions. This Sanctuary... how often do you all show up here to socialize? I'd like my Teyco to interact with all of you... and I really just don't want to be smothering." she admitted, red tinting her cheeks.

Demented Kid
"Well, I'm here mostly, other Teyco just drop in randomly." He said, placing down his tea and resting back in his chair. "Though Teyco do have the choice of staying here if they wish. We have a few beds upstairs, but they are all in the same room."

He then gave her a comforting grin. "I'm sure you won't smother your child, just be the best parent you can be and hope for the best."

Seraphina_Angel
"I come here with my borthers fairly regularily though you may not get to know one of them. He isn't exactly friendly." she said biting her lower lip.

She actually hoped that this lady never met her older brother as he was a nasty killer and she knew it.

Lady_Ourania
She smiled at Keo's attempt to comfort. "Thank you... I'm certainly thinking about it hard enough, aren't I?"

To Mei Ling she nodded, shifting in the chair carefully so as not to alert Adako. "Your other brother... the one with the silvery hair? He... didn't seem to like me much. Did I offend him in some way?"

Demented Kid
"Yes, so I'm sure you'll make a great mother." He smiled.

Looking between Mei and Ourania at this question, he wasn't too sure if he should reply. "You have done nothing to offend Sephiroth, he just dislikes females, quite a bit." He said this rather quietly.

Seraphina_Angel
"It's not a matter of doing anything to him. It's like Keo said he isn't fond of the female species at all. Just do your best to avoid being caught alone with him." She said with a slightly nervous grin.

Perking up his ears he blinked up lazily as he said "He is awesome. They just don't get him."

he yawned tiredly and snuggled down for another cat nap.

Lady_Ourania
"He... doesn't like women...?" she questioned Keo confusedly, listening to Mei's addition to the subject. "But..." she stared down at Adako, raising an eyebrow at his defense of the silver-haired male she now knew as Sephiroth.

"You would warn me against being caught alone with him. That seems, if you'll pardon my saying so, a bit frightening. Why doesn't anyone speak with him about it? Or... you know, seek out some sort of psychological aid?"

Demented Kid
"It was because he was abandoned by his previous.. Parent and it was a girl." He said, also with a hint of nerves in his voice. "I don't really know how to explain it, but it's best if you aren't alone with him and just leave him to his own devices."

Seraphina_Angel
Mei Ling's eyes widened almost scared. "Daddy tried to get a doctor to help him. I think they are still looking for him." she said her voice dropping to a whisper.

Lady_Ourania
Sharply contrasting feelings of dread and pity wound their way about Ourania's insides. It was sad that Sephiroth held such strong disgust against the female population, but perhaps he would have been unbalanced anyway. "I'm sorry, Mei... I did not know." she murmured.

Beautiful but dangerous. That probably described the silver-haired Teyco without unnecessary flailing.

Demented Kid
Keo frowned slightly. It really was a sad story for Sephiroth but he seemed pretty content at home. "I'm sure things will work out in the end for him and everyone else."

Looking around a little, he actually wondered where Sephiroth was. Normally he would of been sitting quietly in a chair with Adako, but he guessed it was because Ourania was around that he wasn't.

Seraphina_Angel
"It's not your fault he is weird Ourania. Just make sure to stay away from him. He is ok as long as you leave him be. He might have been bad with his other mommy but since she left him he only got owrse. He wasn't that bad as child but he grew into a rather hateful person over time.I think it's cause he is lonely but he doesn;t ever give people a chance. So we just leave him a lone." she said the sadness eating away her normally happy tone.

Lady_Ourania
Sighing and feeling heavier at heart, Ourania nodded. It was not something she could afford to worry about... not unless it came to her being alone with Sephiroth. She felt a sort of maternal longing to try to comfort the possibly deranged Teyco, but knew it to be a useless effort. If he disliked women, he would not open up to one strange female who had taken a year of psychology a few semesters past. "Don't worry about it, Mei. You can't fix something that denies being broken. Just... keep trying to get through to him... perhaps he'll recognize something is wrong with his attitude and mend his ways." Extremely doubtful... but she would not say so to this young Teyco.

Demented Kid
Keo just nodded in agreement, sipping more of his tea before asking. "Was there anymore questions you would like answering?"

Lady_Ourania
Ourania shook her head, taking a sip of her own tea and nearly spitting it out when she saw the time on her wrist watch. "Oh! Na'ir's going to kill me..." she carefully dislodged Adako so that she could stand, offering Mei and Keo a bright if somewhat distracted smile. "This was such a lovely visit, but I have to get home before my... babysitter decides to strangle himself. I'll make sure to stop by again soon." She bowed slightly to Keo and two cat-like Teyco. "Thank you so much for your time. I hope to see you again."

Giving Adako's ear one last scratch, the female took off out the door, stone glowing as though with slight amusement in her hand.

Upon arriving back home, Ourania received a stern and somewhat frazzled speech from Na'ir about the importance of keeping appointments. She couldn't blame him, of course, one of his old friends had arrived earlier that week and had been driving him up a wall ever since. Arun, coupled with the rest of the family, was too much for poor Na'ir to take.

She sullenly went to making dinner, potstickers and rice, chatting with her stone while she worked. "I know he's stressed, but he didn't have to yell at me like that."

The purple gem glittered but did little else in response.

"I mean, I know Arun's like... five kids having tantrums and learning about the birds and the bees all in one moment, but it isn't my fault he showed up."

Not even a glimmer this time, apparently she was boring it.

"Anyway," she began, adding rather too much soy sauce into the pan where the potstickers were defrosting. "Wasn't that a fun day? Weren't Keo and Mei Ling pleasant? Adako was so cute..."

It took her brain a few startled seconds to realize that the gem was flashing madly, and another full few moments for her to recognize why. "Oh hell...!"

The potstickers had somehow flamed up in a curious blue-green manner. Confused and frightened she turned off the burner and tossed the glass of water she had been nursing upon the fire. Blackened and soaked in more than the appropriate amount of liquid, the potstickers sizzled in weak reprisal.

She heard a sigh behind her and turned to see Na'ir staring at the pan with almost pained eyes. "... I'll call for pizza..." he muttered.

Arun appeared beside him, laughing and waving a hand in front of his nose from the smoke. "Honestly, girl, how could you make something burn up like that? Did you add something flammable?"

"Shut up, Arun." she retorted testily, remorsefully poking at one charred dumpling.

The gem went back to glittering occasionally; Ourania half-expected to hear a twitter of amusement from it though it lacked the essentials for making sound.

The stone had been acting strangely all that day and Ourania couldn't quite determine what she was to do about it. Na'ir had been no help, staring at her with curious blue eyes and asking how precisely an inanimate object could act anything at all. Arun had just murmured something about her lack of sanity into his tea, continuing on with the drawing he had been outlining.

Crestfallen, the pale young woman retreated to her room, placing the stone against the powder blue of her pillows and watching it almost beseechingly. Had she been carrying it around with her too much? Maybe not enough? Had the spell she was working earlier somehow affected the curious little gemstone? There were so many variables that she was frightened would somehow result in her child not arriving at all.

"... I wish you could just tell me..." Ourania said with a sigh, running her fingers through the tangles of her fair hair.

There was a small rumbling and the stone flashed brightly, alerting the startled guardian that something was indeed amiss. At first she thought that perhaps it was an earthquake adventing: The books on her shelves all bounced and flapped, the glass objects on her bureau rattling threateningly. Her first instinctively action was to yell to the rainbow-haired Kederi in the next room and grab at the shivering Teyco gem. The electricity flickered out and her seeking hand found only the soft fluff of her pillow. Ourania made another desperate grab and discovered that the stone had suddenly grown soft and pliable as flesh.

The lights came back on grudgingly, and the guardian could only gape in realization that she was holding on to a slim arm the color of irises, connected to a very confused and slightly frightened little girl of the same shade.

Na'ir was in the room in the next instant, as was the rest of the household, all vying to see what exactly had made their guardian squeal in such a manner.

"... So she's finally here." The Kederi said, relaxing from his defensive position.

The amethyst colored female looked around at the gathered people, eyes at once wild and curious. "... Hi?" she greeted cautiously, glancing down to the hand at her arm through tousled bangs.

Ourania's partially sane squeaks of excitement could be heard throughout the entirety of the house.

She wasn't entirely certain how the child had managed, but Ereshkigal had efficiently and effectively gone through every child-oriented book in the house, reading them from cover to cover with a verocity that stunned the remainder of the household. The unicorn paused only to eat, sleep, and relieve herself, otherwise she read, tiny mouth moving to form the words, from dawn until dusk.

"I want more books."

Ourania paused thoughtfully in the script she had been writing, turning to smile indulgently at her Teyco child. "Well, maybe we can run out to the market later today and get you something new to read."

Though I've no real idea how one book will sate her... and I've no real way to afford another library.

A thought struck the pale woman and she suggested instead. "Actually, I've got a better idea, why don't I take you to the library?"

Purple curls slipped over her shoulder as the child tilted her head and wrinkled her small nose. "Library? Like the book place in the story?"

"Um, yes, it is a book place." Ourania replied, not entirely certain what tale the youth was referring to. "And it has more books than I do, so it'll keep you occupied for a little bit."

"Can we go now?" Her tail lash against the carpeting, catching on a chair leg and sending it scattering to the floor. Ereshkigal flushed furiously and righted the piece of furniture, turning her still hopeful eyes on her guardian. "Please?"

Ourania sighed, running a hand through her pale hair and looking at the still primarily blank pages in front of her. "Well... yeah, sure, why not. Go get your coat."

Lady_Ourania
Ereshkigal was very taken with the library; it smelled a bit funny, she supposed, and the librarian had given her the strangest of looks when she'd entered, but there were books everywhere and the young unicorn could hardly contain her excitement.

"The children's section...?" She heard Ourania question as she occupied herself with looking around, eyes spanning to their widest as she tried to take in everything at once.

"Up the stairwell." The woman replied, voice containing sharp traces that would have better suited a military leader than a librarian. Her brown-silver hair was held up in a bun so tight it looked almost headache inducing, and her wire-rimmed spectacles were cut in a severe fashion. "Remember that this is a haven of silence, if you would, and tell your... child to keep that in mind as well."

Ereshkigal tilted her head, attempting her cutest, most endearing expression. "Yes, lady-ma'am. I'll be good, I promise."

Ourania took her tiny, violet-splashed hand and led her up the stairs, muttering something that the Teyco could only catch the barest meaning of. Ki had no doubts that her foster mother was angry, undoubtedly the result of the librarian's firm warning. The Teyco was a bit annoyed as well, but she kept silent, eyes cast down to the stairs so that she would not trip.

"Here we are, sweetie." The pale haired woman said, voice even despite the fire that was still dredging up in her eyes. "What sort of books would you like? I have a special card, so you can take out five at a time."

Ereshkigal removed her fingers from her guardian's grip, shooting across the small space to nearly run straight into a bench that was painted like a cartoonish caterpiller, the paint chipped off in places with a few written words that were not in a child's scrawl dotting one green section. Giggling, Ereshkigal went on to look at the stack that someone had left out, picking through the pile for ones that would catch her bright eyes.

Ourania sat down on a seat designed to look like a mushroom, smiling at the child's enthusiasm before taking the rumpled manuscript out of the hidden pocket of her coat and beginning to write once more.

The purple Teyco waited until she was certain that the woman was effectively distracted before skirting around to quietly descend the stairs. Ki smirked, pleased with her stealthy abilities, and came to the bottom floor, taking off her shoes so that her steps would not echo.

The little girl wasn't interested in reading about fluffy bunnies or ponies with rainbow-bright manes. She'd had plenty of those sorts of books in Ourania's home, and had found them rather boorish after a time. But her guardian had locked all the other books in the writing room, where she was not allowed to venture after she had accidently destroyed part of a novel with an unplugged inkwell. As such, she'd been subjected to only the bare minimum of authors, and had not been able to convince her catetaker that books on botany and psychology weren't entirely out of her league. Ereshkigal had given up after the arguement had become slightly heated, figuring that it was best to play the clueless child for a while longer.

The Teyco was not stupid, not in the least, but she knew to hide the glimmers of brilliance beneath a juvenile guise; it was safer, more tidy, and people found her less intimidating, which suited her perfectly fine so long as they continued to realize their place was not constantly pestering her.

It was tiring, to keep secrets at all times, but at least it was better than the alternative, which was being considered stuck up and stuffy.

She went to the Religion section, taking down a book on Buddhism and flicking through the pages, admiring the illustrations and reading only sparingly. The unicorn did not know how much time she had before Ourania discovered she was missing and came to seek her out, but she planned to utilize her time as best she could and find out as much as was possible.

Ki moved on after she'd created a vague reference as to what precisely Buddhism was, picking up a book on Christianity, another on Islamic religion, skimming until she had something concrete to remember the words by, a definition to put to the name.

It was fun, she decided, being sneaky and learning so much in so small a space of time. The Teyco took up a nook between offset shelves, surrounding herself in both thick and small books, resting her elbows on their covers while she struggled to read through some of the passages, working out words that were unfamiliar to her.

By the time her caretaker called her name, she'd sorted through what had been the controversy of Christ in the Byzantine empire and why precisely Taoism and Confucianism had began to blend.

"Umm... coming, She responded, cramming the volumes back into what she hoped were their proper spaces and pausing when she felt a shadow fall over her. She raised her amethyst colored eyes, biting her lip when she saw the librarian looming like a dark cloud over her burst of book related sunshine.

"I do believe the Legend of Christ goes in the early Christianity Section." The stern woman said, voice pitched low so that it would not carry. "Unless, of course, you were planning on checking it out?"

"... No," She'd broken the facade and it lay in shards at her feet, cluttering the pages of the book that had fallen open on the ground. She shifted, shamefaced and wondering what the older female would do. Would she tell Ourania? Forbid her from coming back?

"Well, if you change your mind or would like to take your research further, please say so."

Ereshkigal broke eye contact with the carpeting, gaze shooting up to eye the woman suspiciously. There was no malice there, no hidden intent or disgust, only an impassive woman, face so angular it could have cut glass, and an offer to help.

Ki relaxed, trying on a timid smile and considering it carefully before saying. "Some of these... I don't recognize all of the words."

"I will look up some things that may be more within your level of comprehension." The librarian responded, spider-like hands selecting a particular novel off a higher shelf and holding it out to the younger. "If you would like to try these once more, I would suggest reading with a dictionary handy."

Ereshkigal looked at the book, interest shining keenly in her features. She had already been reaching for it when something occurred to her and the Teyco lowered her seeking hands. "I don't have a card..."

And she could not very well use Ourania's, not without questions she was unwilling to answer being raised.

"Well, we shall have to remedy that, won't we?" Something that may have been distantly related to a smile quirked the woman's colorless lips. "Come by tomorrow and I will have one ready for you. Your name?"

"Ereshkigal Eridanus." She replied eagerly, tail lashing behind her, feeling swept away into a childishness she hardly ever displayed due to her excitement. "What's yours?"

"Benningham..."

The Teyco calmed, recognizing the faint disapproval in Ms. Benningham's tone and deciding not to ask for a first name. Her mouth twitched fearfully when she heard Ourania's footsteps on the wooden floorboards; she had already failed to maintain her childish ambiance around the elderly woman before her, she could not risk losing it around her guardian as well.

"I will put these away. You would do well to go back to your mother." Ms. Benningham warned, bending to gather those volumes that Ki had not managed to put away.

"Thank you," The girl said, still a bit wary but not willing to push the subject. She took off, slipping her shoes back on as she went, and tried to think of an excuse to give her caretaker.
