Dood. D:
I was just typin' random stuff right, and I came across this article - Clickie
How awesome would that be if they made the movie, with David Bowie as the Goblin King... If they can cast him again for it anyways... It might not have the older movie's charm, but it'll be nice to see a second movie. :3
Also, the article's from last year... But the idea might still happen! ^^
Discuss. ;3

I don't know how I'd feel about it is they made a sequel. I'd go to see it, of course, but there's always the question of whether or not they'll butcher everything that was charming about it. What sort of plot could they possible create that would not make me roll my eyes? I can't see Bowie returning to do another one since, after twenty years, he probably wouldn't want to move backward in his career. And if they touch his costume, I'll sue. But they could have some pretty kick-a** special effects in there. We'll just have to wait and see what news pops up!

I doubt Bowie would replay the Goblin King.
ninja As long as they had the same magic I'd watch it.

Generally it's not good to mess with cult classics. The cult fans will hate the new version, and the people who saw the first one, and didn't like it will not go see the new one. lol Plus, it just wouldn't be the same without Bowie.
There has been this same problem with them remaking The Man Who Fell to Earth. I think this one is supposed to come out in 2008 (I think).

As of yet there haven't been any real 'magical' movies besides Disney stuff. But I agree, there are quite a few drawbacks.

If they recasted Bowie I'd definately see it. But if they butchered it.... I'd see it anyways just to see how bad it was. And for Bowie.

I mean, suuuuure, the Special effects will be totally awesome etc' etc', but then it'll take all the attention away from the puppets, and I mean- Who Wants that?
And They're WHAT with The Man Who Fell to Earth?

Smack, baby, smack!
If David's in it, I'm playing the Goblin Queen.
Is that all that you feel?

For some reason I really doubt Bowie'd play Jareth again. It'd lose its originality.. it's amazingness.. I don't know.

With Bowie in it, how could it not be amazing? :D I don't know.. it's like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was amazing with Gene Wilder, the Oompa Loompas, and everything really there, but the remake was all animation and well.. SHITTY. I'm just scared they'll do the same with The Labyrinth.

We'll whack them with a frozen tuna fish if they use more animation than they did in the first one. Okay?

I would see it. With David Bowie or not. But I would go opening night to the theater and in the most annoying voice I could muster I would declare how much better David Bowie was. As often as possible. And ruin it. For everyone.
And Gene Wilder -IS- Willy Wonka in my mind. <3
