<- My current avatar is my submission for THIS week, and this is the description:
It was cold, and the wind was howling. The little bride, already in her white gown, looked anxiously out over the surging sea, trying to find the land where her lover waited. Then lightning struck the water, turning it an eerie green; and thunder shook the ship; and the waves did capsize her little boat!
She sank and sank below the water, did our sweet little bride; but she was glad, for she had almost joined her lover. So sweet, so pure, so wondrous was he!
She died in love, but he did not mourn her. But he did not love her! She knew his secret happiness, his fresh-faced bride. A fish stole her eye, and the sea stole her heart. She has dwelt so long in silence...
But she's back, she's back! And it will be cold when you start howling, and you shall dwell evermore in silence! For the little bride has come for you, and her wrath holds the strength of the heartless sea.

I've never really looked at the avvie arena, but I would give you a 10/10 for style, originality, and theme. I totally made up those categories. Mmhmm... but I think it looks shiny :3 And it's better than my cat pirate! Edit: She's a counter to my turning Kel's avatar into a puppy ninja. This was all my idea... but he does prefer ninjas over pirates. Silly boy.

Currently, I'm at 7.282 and ranked 0. The highest I was ranked all week was 395.
I opposite of won. razz
Apparently people hate brides?
Comments I received:
"cool" (a lot)
"eww" (a few)
"ugh, bride" (a few)
"not enough stuff" (an idiot without composition skillz)
Thanks for the votes, though, e'er'body. I think I'll just stick to drawing things.

No one wins in the avi arena. Unless you flood peoples' inboxes... in which case, you're a winner to me! biggrin wink
And hey, if you were, at any point, in the top 500, then that's terrific! People could only dream of getting that far! 3nodding
When I put Luigi in the avi arena, I was actually in the top 100! Then it quickly dropped more... and more... until I, too, was at zero. sweatdrop I guess it wasn't the most original design to begin with. According to those oh-so-friendly posters, the Luigi idea had already been used by a past top-ten winner.
