J.K. has said that the last word of the last chapter of book 7 is 'scar.' So then what is the last sentence?
I think it'll either be something cheesy and conclusive, like 'And it was all because of a scar' or something to the jist of 'Harry no longer had a scar.'
Opinions? Theories?

No, it won't be cheesy. Rowling is good enough an author to leave us on a thrumming, deep note that reverbrates in our minds long after we have put down that book rather than a half-hearted pluck at the strings that fades away quickly. I can't imagine exactly what the last sentence will be--and I don't really want to, because it will take all surprise away--but I do expect it to be satisfying.

Personally, I'd like to think it'll be something along the lines of the way she ended the first book.

And placidly, Harry reached towards his forehead to tap the lightening shaped scar.

Queenie Jean AJ Bookworm Personally, I'd like to think it'll be something along the lines of the way she ended the first book. *thinks* I can't remember what that is. Can you quote it for us all? *bats eyelashes* It was basically just Harry's plans for tormenting Dudley over the summer. Of course, wanting it to be that light-hearted may just be wishful thinking on my part...

Not cheesy.
JKR wouldn't do that to us.
Dumbledore said in book 1 that Harry would have his scar forever. It's not going away.
Harry's going to die. I can feel it.
"Voldemort took one last look at his now defeated enemy and the gift he had given to him so long ago, what was almost his downfall, the scar"
I dunno. rolleyes

I'm not one of the Voldie wins people, but that's a good perspective

I kind of agree with the idea that Harry dies but then if she ended the book it would end in wonder of what happens. Harry and Dumbledore are dead and Voldemort lives. You know? I don't know, maybe they both die maybe something else. We won't know until it comes out.

As they gaze down at the wizard that held the wizarding community in constant fear they noticed he and Harry were matched yet again as he was marked with a familiar scar.
I think when Harry defeats Voldemort he will leave his own mark on him.

well, given JK's amazing ability to make us believe one thing, then take a sharp twist toward an entirely different finale of her books, i think that anything she tells us now is merely to make us more anxious for the books to come out. I think that telling us that is basically the same as telling us, "on the end of page 114, the final word is cookie". I can see this as being an attempt to stir up our imaginations for what is going to happen in the seventh book, so that when the book really does come out, the ending will be more suprising
