It wasn’t until Kami got home that night that she realized she had never set a time to meet with Ruri, and worst yet, she even forgot to get her phone number or give the girl her own. It was then she decided she would leave so she got to the park a little bit before noon, for if she did end up waiting, she knew it would be her own fault. The craziness of the shop had completely jumbled her mind, though this madness was much better than the nervous state in which she had been sense Cal locked herself away. Ruri did not look like the type to do that, so Kami’s mental state was probably safe for a while, if you did not count the fact that the whole Bellus Pupa thing had already made her slightly crazy, and only someone that was a little off could really deal with Zac… But in her own mind she was completely sane, and this fake sanity was telling her to just let the girl think Kami had just arrived and not waited long. Yes, the perfect plan.

The next morning Kami rose early (for she usually liked to sleep in on days off from work), dressing in her normal clothes: black pants and a long-sleeved red shirt. Yoru, despite his rejecting, was placed daintily into her purse, bought just for him, and after grabbing her jacket, Kami was quickly out the door.

By the time Kami had arrived at the park, she had realized they did not set up an exact place in the park to meet. When she had spoken before, she believed she had said something about “the park near Bellus Pupa, so she just found a place in the park where she could see the shop. After finding a bench, she sat and waited for Ruri to arrive.

Ruri stretched lazily, smiling to herself about the much needed rest she got. She glanced down at the small amount of weight on her lap, Sebastian turned over lazily and Ruri thought to herself that him living with her wouldn't be so bad, uintil she remembered that he was her responsibility. She groaned, moving him off of herself. He shifted slightly, but made no attempt to get up. Ruri stared up at the clock, it was 11:00, and something clicked, "Kami." She whispered to herself. All of a sudden she woke up and ran for her closet. She grabbed a plain blue T-shirt and loose fitting jeans before rushing to the bathroom to do her daily things.

A while later, she came out, her hair still dripping from the water and saw Sebastian up and ready to go. "Do you know what we're doing today?" She asked the little doll, which was just sitting there. He shook his head 'no' and frowned. "We're going to the park, to get some things settled." She answered, carefully picking him up and placing him in little pack. "Stay hidden." She whispered as they left the house. Sebastian answered with a small, "Okay."

Ruri frowned, "Okay, so, all I know is to met at the park, today." She frowned. It was close to 12 and she thought that she could wait and send Sebastian out to play if they were waiting to long --and there weren't many people around-- She made a quick look around the park, unnsuccessfully trying to remember if any place was given. 'Maybe they aren't here...' She worried to herself, a thought that was quickly erased by the sight of her sitting on a bench. She ran over tapped on her shoulder, prayiong it was the right person.

It was definitely the right person, but the way Kami jumped at the touch from another human, making a sound somewhere between “wow” and “eh” as she leapt off the bench to face the newcomer, may have made Ruri think otherwise. It took Kami a moment to realize at whom she was looking, but as her heart stopped pounding to return to its slower, normal rhythm, she finally recognized Ruri. “Oh, hi, Ruri,” she quickly said, trying to sound as calm as possible. “Sorry, I was lost and thought, so I didn’t hear you coming.”

Ruri's look of nervousness faded when she found it was th right person. "It's okay. I'm sorry. Was I late? I'm not sure if you gave a time to come that I missed." She laughed nervously before pulling Sebastian out of the pack. He smiled at the outside world. "Anyways, back on topic. What's up with these dolls? What else is he going to do? It's going to be extremely hardto get people to think I'm normal if I carry around a doll, and talk to it." She frowned as she thougt about the wierd stares she got on the way.

Kami was blown away with the sudden swarm of questions. The questions were not the thing that bothered her, really, but rather the memories of Paven. At least she paused a bit for asking more unlike the prairie dog boy. “No, you’re not late at all. I just got here,” she quickly burbled, trying to keep up with her plan as best as possible. As soon as she had the ideas in her head, she began to explain as best she could, “I cannot guarantee anything, but I have seen three different dolls grow to the size of children. I cannot tell you since none of them are my own, but one is now the size of a teenager. He used to be a small, porcelain doll just like Sebastian, but now he has human-like skin…and, well, fur. He has a tail and whiskers, kind of like what happened at Divinations but his is permanent.” She rocked back and forth a few times as she thought about her next answer, and then she started talking again, “And I don’t know what you are supposed to do about the whole talking thing. I just don’t talk to my doll, but then again, he doesn’t talk to me...Or anyone else for that matter. Speaking of which…” Finally it had struck her to bring out her own doll, so she took the bag off her shoulder, holding it out in front of her as she removed Yoru carefully from the bag, holding him up by the waist in front of Ruri. “This is Yoru.”

"You mean... There's a possibility I could have to take care of an animal kid? Great. That's wonderful. Just wonderful." Ruri sighed and thumped onto the grass. "How am I suppossed to do this..." She whispered to herslef, frowning. "Is it even legal to sell living things like they are?" She asked suddenly remembering what she learned a while ago. "Oh well, I guess I'm stuck with him." She muttered, and then quickly added, "No offense," when she saw Sebastian scowling at her.

Sebastian nodded like he understood and walked over so he could get close to Yoru. He waved a little bit and smiled. "You!" He exclaimed happily, remembering the short interaction they had at Divinations. He smiled, and sat down, patiently waiting for a response.

"Why don't you talk to him?" She asked quizically. 'Maybe it's best if you don't talk to them.' She thought to herself, but when she looked at Sebastian, his legs swinging off her outstretched hands, she figured it would be impossible not to.ruri pushed somehair behind her ears and plucked pieces of grass off of the ground. She twiddled them on her fingers and waited patiently for the answers, assuming she would get one.

“Well, I started out trying to talk to him, but that didn’t work out so well.” Kami put the bag about around her shoulder, waving her now-free hand languidly as she talked. “You see, he doesn’t talk.” She now gripped her doll with both hands, holding the grumbling doll up another moment in front of Sebastian. Finally she moved around the bench, placing Yoru on the ground behind it.

The little doll babbled complaints to her, but just as always, she could not understand him. It probably had to do with his treatment, for he expected to be treated equally or even as her superior despite his small stature. He shook his fist at her for added effect, but he finally gave up on trying to get her to react and stopped with a sigh. Before folding his arms over his chest he gave a bored wave toward Sebastian. “Bah.”

"I see." She said staring at Yoru. "He doesn't talk because he can't..." She mused turning her attention back to Sebastian. "Is Bah the on word he can say that makes since?" She asked, relieved that Sebastian wouldn't be like Yoru. It wasn't like she held a grudge against him or she didn't like him, he just seemed to mean for her taste.

Sebastian frowned at the response, not knowing if that was supposed to be hurtful or nice."Bah?" He questioned in a small voice, hoping that Ruri was right and it was all he could say. A smile slowly crept back over his face as he saw birds fly by. "Ohh, birdies." he said pointing at them and standing up. Ruri laughed.
PostPosted: Sun May 13, 2007 1:28 pm

“Well, he babbles some other things, but he uses ‘bah’ mainly when he says hi, and sometimes when he’s annoyed he yells it at me. I don’t know what he actually means by it, but it’s one of his reoccurring syllables. He also uses ‘Tsu’ when calling to his friend Tsurara, and he uses ‘Pa’ when talking to Paven. Those are the only three that really stick out, though. He will try to use his body language to answer, though,” Kami explained looking up at the birds Sebastian had pointed out moments ago.

Bored, Yoru kicked at the ground a few times with his feet, digging his heel in to make a small hole in the dirt. He mostly kept his gaze downward toward his feet, but he glanced up a few times toward Sebastian, giving him quizzical stares. It was as if he had no clue on what to do, so instead he was just waiting, hoping the other doll would do something first. Even if he wanted to do something, it would be hard to do much without being able to really talk, at least to a point where others would understand what he was trying to get across.

"Oh, that makes since.." Ruri replied, She was unsure as to what to do, so she just stood there nervously. "Umm, how many other owners are there, do you know any of them that well, and most importantly, have any of them been put gone, well, crazy?" She asked, thinking of another question she had wanted to ask.

Sensing Yoru's discomfort, Sebastian smiled wickedly and ran into the middle of the birds screaming and flailing his small arms.the birds ruffled their feasthers and flew of. On four legs, Sebastian scuttled up to some random person, pulling their pants leg and running off, unseen.

Ruri ran to Sebastian and picked him up, scolding him. "That was a very bd thing to do Sebastian." She turned to Kami. "I think Sebastians bored, is there a place that we can go so Sebastian won't attract attention to himself?"Ruri asked, noticing Sebastians mischevious grin as the person whose pants he pulled looked around in confusion.

Kami definitely knew the feeling of being nervous, for she was in the state quite often, especially when she was in an unfamiliar situation. She noticed that these types of things happened to her all the time now since she bought Yoru, but she was surprised to say she was not at all tense right now. She had gone over the whole deal with the doll before, so she had a plan. A plan was all Kami needed to feel safe. “I know a few others owners, and they all seem fine to me. Well, except for my friend, but she was that way before her twin dolls sprang to life and poofed into children.”

Silent, Yoru raised an eyebrow at the strange doll, arms folded over his chest as he examined him. Now this was something new to Yoru. Paven may be hyper, but he usually just talked his ear off. Strangely enough, the nonsense-speaking doll felt quite at home with the talkative prairie dog boy, and he enjoyed coming up with creative ways to answer him. Tsurara, on the other hand, liked normal child activities or just talking with Yoru. For some reason his friend could always tell what he was trying to say, even without hand gestures, and this made it very easy to talk while playing. He had no idea on how to speak to Sebastian, though, and he thought the best thing to do was to watch and be entertained that way.

For some reason Kami found herself watching Sebastian carefully, trying to guess what he would do next, but she never would have imagined his daring actions. Yoru may disobey her from time to time, but he seemed to understand that he should never draw attention to himself. It was just not the thing to do, especially since it was difficult to explain if anyone did find out. This was Kami’s opinion, at least, and even though she had seen some owners let their dolls run freely, she wanted nothing to do with it. At least this time the owner seemed to agree with her on this subject, and Kami was willing to help. “Yeah, I know a place. It’s not completely hidden, but nobody has caught me with Yoru yet.” She held her hand out down the park path, showing the direction they must walk. A few moments later she plucked Yoru up off the ground, causing him to grumble unhappily from the sudden movement, and started down the sidewalk.

So far, Ruri didn't like the impression she was giving Kami. Did she think she was irresponsable mother, or owner, of Sebastian letting him run around like that. She sighed.Sebastian was walking next to her, smiling happily, staring around at all the things happening around him. She suddenly got nervous, sure he was walking in such a way that no one could see him, but what if he ran out? The people would treat him like an alien or something of the sort. Ruri scooped him up and Held him tightly. "Remember, mind yourself. Don't run off and do irresponsible things, I don't want anything bad to happen to you." She told him softly, loosining her grip on him so he could sit on her hands.

Sebastian nodded slowly, sencing his mother's worry." I do my best." He said slowly, not yet use to talking. He dangled his feet of the edge of her hand. Sebastian didn't know how he thought of Your, he was so... so... hard to understand. It wasn't really his foult though, Sebastian understood that, but he wondered wjhat made it so Yoru couldn't speak...He glanced over at him, smiling slightly.

Ruri would probably like to know that Kami did not think of her as irresponsible at all, especially not with Sebastian. She remembered her own troubles with Yoru, seeing as he used to run amok, even sneaking his way into her bag. That work day, though entertaining, was not exactly a good thing; dolls should not go around biting the ankles of the one leading their owners at work. Of course Kami would never tell her this, particularly with the embarrassment attached to it, but it could also be because she could not pick up on these thoughts from Ruri, so she saw no reason to let this secret out.

Hearing Ruri talk to her doll caused a ginger smile to appear on her lips, but Kami remained quiet, not wanting to interrupt the moment. She instead led them down the path, making turns quietly. She would glanced backward to make sure she did not lose anyone from time to time, but as they continued it would have been hard to get separated. Slowly, the number of people around them started to dwindle, and Kami brought them into a little alcove in the park. It was circular, surrounded by trees with only one pathway leading them back to the main path. Someone could watch them from the woods around them, but this was doubtful, since no one would know to wait here. Someone could also watch from the pathway into the recess, but since Ruri and Kami only had that one spot to worry about, they could use their own bodies as a shield or notice another person before they got too close. As long as they didn’t draw attention to themselves, it was a safe spot for the dolls and their owners to hide. Delicately this time, Kami set her doll down. “This is the place.”

Carefully, Ruri placed Sebastian on the ground, scouring the area for animals that were bigger than Sebastian and could hurt him. She knew that she was paranoid at times, she just didn't want to loose him. "Umm, is there anything else I should worry about? Also, do you know how easily these dolls break? Should I be extra careful and Sebastian proof the house?" She asked glancing down at him. She didn't understand this maternal worry, he was only a doll after all, but still, she couldn't help it.

Sebastian stood up and strertched, reaching his way up, touching a tree branch and giggling when water splashed on his forehead. Sebastian flashed a quick glance to Yoru from the corners of his eyes. He had no clue how to talk to him, he didn't want to just talk on and on without a response, and it was to hard to get out even the smallest sentences. Plus, Yoru never responded so with talking and that made him feel foolish, even though he knew Yoru couldn't talk back. He flopped down onto a soft pile of dirt he quickly made and sighed.
