"Eowyn, not too far!" Amyla's voice drifted after her offspring, momentarily spoiling Eowyn's plan to escape the immediate vicinity of the playground. The kybernetik, having shed the cape and adopted the highly durable outfit of a T-shirt and jeans, stopped where she was, turning around to look back at her mother.
Amyla was trying to keep from sighing. She hadn't thought that bringing three of her many children to this playground was all that bad of an idea, but when one child was a free spirit, another was deaf, and the final was prone to chewing on everything, it tended to turn things into a disaster. Yana was fine, simply running around, sliding down slides and being a normal sort of child. Caleb was chewing on her collar and happily trying to pull her hair whilst being seated in her lap.
And Eowyn, still wearing her prized boots, was trying to tromp off to gods-knew-where.
"I'm just going to be on the grass here, Mum,' Eowyn called back, ignoring the play equipment and deciding instead to 'play' on the large stretch of grass beside the playground. She was well within sight and yelling distance, so she doubted Amyla could protest this... much. She pulled out her wooden practice sword-- Amyla had refused to let her bring the real one-- and got down to practicing.

Leaving home Will and Kailee made there way to the park. Once there the two headed in the direction of a fairly large field where the two had grown accustomed to sword fighting with two wooden swords, since they realized that their yard just wouldn’t cut it.
Upon arriving the two were fairly baffled to see another person practicing swordsmanship on the fields. That was the first time that they had seen anyone beside themselves practicing on the field.
“Do you know who she is,” asked Kailee as she looked at Will who just gave her a shake of his head to indicate no.
“I haven’t, but I’m about to find out who she is,” said Will as he took this as a chance to have another sparring partner.
Running over to the other fighter, he stopped a few feet a way and watched her as she practiced for a second before taking a brave step in front of the girl. The he decided to try and start a conversation just to maybe find out a name. “So how long have you been sword fighting,” he asked the mysterious girl trying to see if indeed he would have a new sparring partner.

Eowyn, having just moved from her warm-ups into a few practice swings, was somewhat startled to catch movement out of her peripheral vision. Though she didn't halt her motions, she did watch as they approached, her attention caught by the wooden swords they held. Ah ha! She wasn't alone in her enjoyment of sword techniques.
After glancing over at her mother, the kybernetik turned her attention back to her sword practice. She was not in the least bit surprised when one of the newcomers approached her, and she executed one last move, a stepping lunge, that brought her swordpoint to within a few inches of his chest. "Since I was... born, really. Or since I got a body," she said, straightening up and bringing the arm and sword back to her side. "My dad and sister taught me. You?"

"For a while now. It comes naturally though, but my sister is helping me perfect some of my techniques. Anyway the name's Will, and this is my sister Kailee," said Will as he motioned at Kailee politely with his unoccupied hand. "And you are."
Will asked as he listened to the girl's words and taking note of the markings on her face and the comment about getting a body, figuring that she might be a kybernetik as well. Which would turn out to be completely awesome.

While the boy's name should have set off a few bells in Eowyn's head, the young kybernetik was either too absorbed in her swordplay or just not well-socialized enough to connect it. Either way, she simply nodded in polite greeting. "Eowyn," she said simply, more because she didn't have a designated surname. Well... she did, but neither her mother nor her father's name seemed to fit her well. Maybe she should just call herself Eowyn of Rohan, like the girl in that book Mum liked to read.
After making a mental note to get ahold of that elusive book, she tilted her head to one side to stare at Will. "Where is your sister?"

"Right here," Kailee replied as she finished walking over to see who her brother was talking to.
"Nice to meet you Eowyn," said Will as he stood where he was for a second wandering if he should tell her his surname, knowing full and well if he said it she would know exactly who he was.
"Eowyn you say," said Kailee looking at the girl and pondering at a thought she soon spoke allowed, wanting to subside her curiosity. "Would you happed to be named after a certain Lord of the Rings character?"

Eowyn nodded at the other girl, tucking her wooden sword beneath her arm. She looked mildly surprised at the question but nodded. Really, it wasn't a hard intuitive leap, was it? "Yes, that's where I got my name from. I'm trying to get ahold of the book from Mum, but I've been busy with school and sword practice and Dancer," she said, shrugging casually.
She glanced back and forth between the two. She had to wonder if one was of her kind. "Are either of you kybernetiks? From the lab?"

"The books are wonderful, hopefully you will have time to read them," said Kailee as she listened to Eowyn's schedule.
"Yeah, I am," said Will. "By chance would you happen to be based off the fictional Lord of the Rings character, then."
Will took a leap into assuming that Eowyn was in fact a kybernetik, but he had a good gut feeling telling him that she was.

"I hope so too. I just haven't had time," Eowyn said, shrugging casually. Truthfully, she was lucky she had enough time to come here to the park today. Granted, she hadn't wanted to, but her other option was working ahead on homework. This sounded better.
She nodded an affirmative at Will's question. "I think so, yes. I'm good at horseback riding and with a sword. Mum said that once I get older, I might be able to get a warhorse." Really, that was a long time off, but she could dream, couldn't she?

"Wow that would be so awesome for you," said Will as he heard Eowyn mention something about a warhorse and the comings of her character. "I would prefer a boat if anything though."
"Yeah, you would wouldn'tcha you little pirate," said Kailee in accordance to Will's statement. "You and your swashbuckling ways."

Pirate? Now that sounded like an interesting, if somewhat lawless, occupation. Eowyn had to shudder, though. "Boats... yuck. You have the boats the boats and the oceans. I'll take the warhorse and the big open grassfields to gallop on," she said, nodding emphatically.
She shifted, dropping her sword from beneath her arm back into her hand. She was restless; she couldn't help it. The day's work hadn't been tiring enough. "Do you work with longswords?" she inquired curiously.

Smiling at what Eowyn said about boats and her warhorses, Will just nodded his head. Knowing full and well that he would ride a horse only if need be, but never for fun. At least that what he thought of horses at the moment.
"Yes, I do work with longswords," said Will as he held his practice sword in front of him. "I presuming you asked because you do."

While Eowyn's mind took a temporary detour down the route of that odd dream she had had when she was at the lab, she missed much of what went on for a few seconds. When she came back to reality, she realized Will was answering her question and holding out his own practice sword as proof. She nodded. "Yes, I work with a single longsword and usually a shield. But I didn't feel like bringing my shield all the way here."
She cast a meaningful glance toward her mother and brother over on the distant bench. "I know a little of how to work with short swords, but those are harder."

"It just take some practice," said Will as he tightened a small nut on the hilt of the pratice sword. "Practice makes everyone better in the end."
Will had been practicing both with a long and short sword, so he knew how to use both. He still like working with a long sword though because a short sword seemed, well, just to short. It was just the way he had been practicing for a while.

"Yes, that's true. But I wouldn't ever have much need for a short one," Eowyn said with a casual shrug. Really, using a short sword from horseback wasn't possible, and if she ever did get into serious fighting, she planned to do at least part of it on horseback.
She took a step back and hefted her sword up before her in both hands in a beginning fight stance. "Go ahead and take a swing," she said, having noted the way his trip tightened on the swordhilt.
