Cutting Containment

Taking a deep breath of the ocean's clean air Sarina moved quietly across the sandy beach, her hooves leaving little if no imprints. In the morning sunlight her luscious purple coat appeared darker and left for a mysterious shadowy figure. Wings laying silently at the mare's sides she stopped firmly as a swift wave lapped at her ankles. She had been too busy daydreaming to realize she'd walked into the ocean, not far but just enough to make her whole body shiver just a little.

"Such a beautiful morning,"

The words flowed calmly from her lips and were caught by the ever present winds. Feathers fluttering and mane curling wildly around her neck Sarina was at peace in this place, at least at the moment.

Walking around snifing the air.He looked around and spoted a mare.He shifted his hoofs and pranced up to the water. He watched the mare."I guess it is a good morning isn't it?"Vartan looked at the mare more."Boy your very pretty."He drank some of the water and shook his head.

Peering up from her drinking the cool but salty water Sarina sniffed the air before hearing the stallion's chatter. Her eyes lowered quickly in ill nature as she moved her head to stare down the rosy colored male. He was rather cocky in a romantic sort of way, well he attempted to be, but damn it all he was another bae.

"How dare you, think you can speak to me like such. Do you know not who I am?"

Knowing herself that she wasn't anyone important in her own herd Sarina was still in the imaginary mindset that she was the supreme breed. A whispering hiss escaped her lips as the dark purple mare continued to eye down the bae.

Vartan jumped and put his head to the ground backing away."I wasnt trying to be mean....."He was almost crying.

((Sorry not very much))

The Jala mare took a step back, attempting to get closer to the shoreline in case she had to bolt. It was completely unheard of to speak to anyone but Jala, well unless they were your slaves. None the less unlike what she'd been told about the bae breed, this stallion didn't seem in any way harmful. His reaction to her stern response was that of a foal's, how was someone like this any threat to any Jala, let alone another breed less powerful. Rolling her eyes the purple mare flicked her tail and peered around her, looking to see if anyone else was about the ocean trail.

'Good, nobody. I suppose this couldn't hurt, he's just a stallion. Worse comes to worse I'll see if I can't lure him in to be my slave...although I'm no slave trader.'

Her deep eyes shifted once more watching for any other movement around her and the stallion before taking a step forwards.

"Hi, I'm Sarina. I, um..."

Her voice was soft but paused, it had been years since she talked to anyone that wasn't in her herd. Unsure about what topic to discuss, or how to make him understand she wasn't naturally rude as she was before her ears sank.

"I'm sorry about my tone before, I'm not normally rude. It's just, you're a bae....and I'm a Jala. You know how that goes right?"

Vartan's ears went up.He watched her."Hi....And its ok.I just thought you didn't like me...I only wanted to meet someone new.And no i really dont know how that goes."He said puting his head back to the ground and sighing."I really dont have very many friends...I thought if i talked to you i could maybe get to be your friend."Vartan watched the waters.

Lightly shaking her head she almost appeared to smile for a brief moment. Her smile dimmed easily as Sarina's ear flickered and her eyes wandered around hoping one of her herd members hadn't came about looking for her, then again why would they....she wasn't anyone important to them.

"Friend? A bae? You haven't been around here to know what the past is have you?"

Sighing loudly the Jala mare decided to try and explain what she could of the matter, without her own opinion popping inside.

"Of course you haven't, must not have since you don't know anything of this land's past. Alright, well here's a basic outline. I am a Jala, and I am of a herd of Jala which would think of you and other breeds as worthless and slave-material. Reyna however, that devilish...er...that breed is know to my herd as the equivilant to satan, the devil and all that. Needless to say, I highly doubt my herd....would approve of a Bae and I having any relations, including friendship."

Sarina's eyes dropped to the oncoming ocean wave, her hooves were the only things feeling it's cold touch and yet the air and all around her seemed heavy and freezing all of a sudden. No doubt it was from the conversation she was having with this bae, and yet it had been such a wonderful day.

'I wonder how he doesn't know anything, where was he raised? Who the heck is this bae?'

A strand of Sarina's mane dangled wildly as a strong breeze took the mare by surprise. She was jumpy considering the danger she had put herself in just by speaking to another breed, but as long as nobody saw them it didn't phase her much.

Vartan shook his head."So your not even soppose to be around me.....So...You may leave and go if you want.I'll try to find someone else to talk to but i wanted to talk with you sence your thw only one i could talk to that was around."Vartan started walking off with his head to the ground.Unsure of what to do next he just kept walking slowly."I just wanted to be your friend sence i hardly have any..."He said softly.

Feeling wrong about her approach Sarina almost turned and returned to watching the crystal clear waters wade on her hooves, but it was useless. At this point, and for whatever reason the mare felt wrong just letting the poor stallion leave on the bad note. It was all true, she wasn't supposed to be talking to anyone but Jala unless she had them as her slave or whatnot but she too could certainly use some company. Ears flat to her head she called out to the leaving bae,

"I...I mean, we could be friends if you wanted....But it'd have to be a secret...."

Her voice was no longer soft, more of like a shy child's calling out before they lost something important. Not that the stallion himself was specifically of touch to her life, but the thought of a roughly nice conversation partner was always welcome, even if she was a bit touchy on the subjects of first appearences. As her voice left the tip of her tongue the mare felt like a part of her old ruthless self had appeared once again inside her, as she always knew it would.

'Stupid pasts,'

The young mare muttered under her breath and out of hearing range.

Vartan stoped just before he got out away from the water. He listened to her."Ok..But wouldn't your heard find out sooner or later?"He asked standing there waiting for her to respond.'Is she really meaning this?I really do not want her to be hurt for me and her being friends and then someone from her heard finding out about us being friends.'He sighed and his ears went to his head.Waiting and waiting he finally turned around and looked at her.

"They might, they might not. I personally think they're too wrapped up in their own lives to care about my own, I'm a little more worth than other breeds...but just as easily enslaveable. I worry not about them, not as much as I used to. They show no fear, but they have it."

She smiled, the first time she had in a while before watching his stance. He seemed a little unsure but it was to be expected. For a while, maybe even forever Sarina and the stallion's friendship would be chained by her herd's thoughts, but it was alright. A friendship should be stronger than it's peers.

'I wonder what he's thinking about,'

Sarina pondered shoving her hoove firmly in the sand and watching as the incoming waves took the sand particles out with it's passing.

Vartan smiled a little."Oh ok i see now I understand."Vartan ran past her.Nipping at her mane."Do you play games?"He looked back as he slid to a stop in the sand.Watching her he winnied a little and reared up in happyness.'Hm.....Could we be for than friends if my other friend and my relation ship doesnt work out?'

"Games huh? Of course!"

Sarina laughed lightly as she took off after the stallion. He didn't seem harmful to anyone, her kind or otherwise, he actually seemed very friendly and all around a good guy. Her eyes spun around looking for any Jala, or rats in general, but the oceans were a peaceful place. The mare's hooves hit the sand parting it in every direction as she came upon the bae, he had stopped and playfully whinnied to herself. Bucking softly the mare returned her own whinnie and nipped at his mane before taking off past him and down the beach. Her dark purple mane whipped in the bursts of wind and her feathered wings ruffled as they were clasped tightly to her sides. The purple female kept up a smooth trot across the sandy shore turning to look at the stallion's last question.

"More than friends?"

Her head tilted as she slowed her trot,

"What do you mean?"

Vartan smiled and ran after her."Uh.....If my other relation ship doesnt work out then i wanted be more than just friends with you....But i thought about your heard...."He sighed and stoped and looked away from her."I'm sorry..."

The mare's eyes widened, she barely knew this Bae, was he kidding her? Was he that lonely? Perhaps there was more to this soul than she had first given thought to. Eyeing him in a stunned way Sarina chuckled and smiled,

"My herd. I barely know you, I don't even know your name. Give me your name, and give me time....then we shall see about, well....mates I believe the word is."

Her voice trailed off in waiting for a response from the stallion, he seemed desperate or strange, or maybe he was just attempting to get a piece of backside, whatever it was it certainly interested Sarina to find out.
