I'm not sure if any of you go on hikes or not, but if so, whats the most interesting thing you've ever found while on it?

An old 1950's-era (or older) car, all rusted and pockmarked with bullet-holes laying next to a stream. Apparently, as I read, up the hill from it is another one and nobody knows how they got there. The bullet holes were from hikers shooting it as they came across it.
I don't even remember where that was at....

By the way, this isn't really wildlife-related, but I'll let you slide this time. Pygmi may still decide to move it over to General Discussion, though.Upon further thought, it may fit in here since you are apparently talking about junk and trash that has been discarded along hiking trails and such. In which case, I do recommend picking-up whatever junk or trash you can and carry it out of the area with you, especially if you find anything that is hazardous to the environment. Important! - If you find anything that could be possibly hazardous to you, leave it alone and call the local forestry service office that is in charge of that particular stretch of trail and inform them of the spill and that it needs to be cleaned up A.S.A.P. I don't hike very often anymore, but I always try to have at least one trash bag on me for picking up other peoples' litter. Sadly, those bags often come back full.... crying Revised: 2007 Apr 16

Yeah I know what you mean. Theres so many trash in this one woods I hike frequently. There are so many piles and piles of it, you could probably confuse it with a junkyard.

For me, my most interesting find in the woods has to be most recent. I found 2 houses in the woods, one small one with a collapsed roof, and another that has no roof and looks like it was burned down. Kinda shocked me to find one in the middle of nowhere.

Oh, when you said "that you've found", I thought you meant wildlife-related.. Like interesting plants or animals that you've come across.
For me, it would be a snake at this river that my friends and I go to, sometimes. It's not really hiking, it's only a couple miles away, and most of it is on roads through out neighborhood. The river's even in our neighborhood. But it's as close as we can get in the suburbs. The snake was really cool, though, because mostly all that you see where I live are rabbits, and occasionally a deer or two.. It was black and about three feet long. Just another river snake, but still. XD

I once found an old rifle along with some arrow heads when I went hiking one day around this one place in Montana. And when I went to Peru (which is where I'm from by the way) I came across this old Incan burial mound and found some old mummies. And then I found some dramallama dramallama dramallama dramallama .They were te best. But when I trie to go hug one it spit at me so yea. If you ever see a llama hve eye protection on at all times.

Since this is not really wildlife-related (largely my fault - I apologize), I'm going to move it to the General Discussion forum.
