Hello.

Here’s a bunch of rough sketches and such that I’ve done recently. (In the last year or so.) I really haven’t finished much lately, mostly because I feel like everything I do is worse than the thing I did before it.

Basically, I was hoping for some feedback on what I need to improve most on. I know I need to improve on everything, but I was hoping for some help on deciding what I need to do to become a better artist. My art teacher is absolutely no help (she likes everything everyone does.) So, please and thanks.


I am aware that her arms are really off, which is why I didn’t finish the drawing. >.O

Just off the bat; I think my faces should be more expressive. =/ And I need to finish stuff, maybe? Or is any of it worth finishing?

She's loosely based on a story my friend told about a woman he met at the supermarket. Only, the real woman was much creepier. Apparently, she collected bags. Plastic bags.

From what I heard, she went in, bought an apple with four fruit bags (the plastic ones) wrapped around it, asked the bag-boy (my friend) to triple bag it, and then stuffed it into a large plastic bag she was carrying... that was full of plastic bags. D: It didn't sound normal to me.

regardless of what you want to focus on,
the only way to get better is to draw draw practice draw

do studies from life
fill up sketchbooks
look at art books/ copy them

dont be afraid to make mistakes
dont limit yourself to drawing only certain things
be expressive,
dont throw out anything b/c it seems inadequate and don't be discouraged by people that are better

just focus on improving your own skills & you can only get better from here on out
