So I was enjoying a little stroll through Towns, and I happened across a seemingly nice fellow whom I shared my love of Kingdom Hearts with. Until he asked me one thing. "Do you like Kairi?"
"Yes, she's cute. :'D"
Oh, wow. Wrong thing to say to this guy, apparently. He went on and on about how much he disliked her because her outfit made her look like "an under-aged hooker" and how much of a horrible mary sue she was. Wow, so I told him that I disagreed with his points of view on her, and stated my points, and he kept going, like it was some sort of mission of his to get me to hate Kairi. Anyway, I kept as polite as possible until he finally got pissed enough to walk away. Why do people hate characters so much?
Anyway, the discussion is this: Has someone ever expressed their dislike for a character you like in such an aggressive way to you? Have you ever gotten into a heated debate with someone about a Kingdom Hearts character? Why do people hate Kairi so much? :< ( Better not answer that one, poor girl gets enough crap. )

Yeah, but, Kairi didn't have a weapon until the second game. And don't forget that her heart was basically inside Sora during the entire first game. I mean, you can't run up to heartless/nobodies and smack them with your hands. Sora couldn't even kill heartless until he had a keyblade. Remember on Destiny Islands? I mean, people are entitled to their own opinions, but sometimes they're a little hard on the poor characters. :<
And what people say about Roxas is dumb. xD Oi. I don't like Jesse McCartney's music so much, and he's a punk irl, but he is cute and does a great job on Roxas's voice, so I don't really see the problem people have with it.

Before the second Kingdom Hearts came out, I hated Kairi, but I can't remember why.
When the second one came out, though, I liked her.
I hate it when people force their beliefs on you. I admit, I haven't really gotten into any arguments that I can remember like that, but you are totally free to like Kairi and he had no right to jump on you like that. I hate it when people do that. I'm sorry you had to suffer that but I hope no one does that again!

Its kind of the opposite with me. I know its kind of straying away from the topic of Kairi hating, but people have been resorting to any means nesscary to get me to like Riku (No lie. After I told a friend I didn't like Riku, she tried to whack me in the head with a biology book multiple times while yelling if I had brain damage). I don't like him for good reasons, not crazy ones like a lot of Kairi's haters have, and I do point out things about his character I think has been improved, but that's not enough for some people, apparently.

in the first KH game, i really did like Kairi. i think i liked her so much because she was a female character, and i was rooting for her all the way, haha.
but then, in Kingdom Hearts 2, my feelings for her faded.
not only was she m.i.a. for the majority of the game, but when she finally did appear, and fight, i was just not impressed--at all.
point being, i really have no major issue with her.
sure, she was a bit annoying nearing the end of KH2, and she fought like a pansy, but ultimately, i'm cool with her.
in KH3, if Square Enix chooses to continue with Sora, Riku, and Kairi as characters, i'm actually really looking forward to seeing the other sides of her. i want her to be just as interesting and dynamic as all the other characters 3nodding

Omg I think Kairi's so cute! 4laugh I don't understand the Kairi hate myself. >_> She's what you call a Damsel in Distress, how was she supposed to do anything until the second game anyway?! She offered to help plenty of times in the first game (towards the end) but Sora asked her not to and she respected his request. In the second game, there wasn't much she could do for the first half of it except wait for someone to come get her. And Axel did just that. 3nodding

Kairi's my favorite and I seem to have favorites of the characters that don't get the greatest review from other people. I don't get it why people hate her just because she does nothing. That's no reason to absolutly hate or even despise someone for. Seriously, the people who think that probably have no life. But then again I don't want to get into a fight with them.
