Has anyone else seen the commercial--I think it's for Cingular--with the kid speaking in txt talk? It made me cry a little tear...
It's got a mother scolding her middle school-aged daughter about how high the phone bill was because of all of her text messaging. And the kid says "OMG. INBD" with subtitles reading "Oh my God. It's no big deal." And it goes on like that for a few more exchanges. It short, it made me cringe. If I ever would have dreamed of speaking like that to my mom, well, I'd have a lot more than my phone taken away.
Just had to share with some people who would appreciate the ghastliness of the commercial. The horror, the horror!

(*shudder) It makes the idiotic masses assume that this is a recognizable and perfectly legit way to speak and/or type... and it's so wrong!
You know what they say when you assume...

I rolled my eyes, but I didn't hate it. I don't think kids actually talk like that (I hope), it was just exaggerating how much texting is a part of life now. I personally never do it, it takes too long to type everything out right.

I don't live in North America, so I have not seen this, thank goodness.

I actually laughed at it and wondered how long it'd be before someone here mentioned it.
