Yo! As the title suggests, I was wondering if anyone is handicapped and in martial arts. I myself am missing my right arm from right below the elbow on down.

I was born without it. And what's with Tat? I don't think anything is very funny in this matter.

Or, God forbid, have compassion for someone and not make fun of them. Takes a lot of courage to reveal something personal like that on here and then he gets made fun of? Screw that and anyone who thinks it's funny.

Screw that and anyone who thinks it's funny. You're officially my new best friend. Back on topic: Being disabled defenitely forces me to go at obstacles from a different angle. Alot of times, sparring partners think that they only have to worry about my good arm, so they trap it. Thats when I smack them in the face with my stub. The look on their face after that is priceless. Its a mixture of surprise and disbelief. My favorite catch phrase of mine: "You've been stub-smacked!"

Iconised Ghost stub-smacked mrgreen i have a friend who is blind that i am trying to encourage to join, any tips? i think it would be good for her to know at least some basic stuff, but i think she worries about getting hurt Hmmm..... It would be tough to convince one who is blind to learn martial arts. I think though, that anyone can be good at martial arts. I know people without legs who'd punch you to death; people w/o arms who kick you to death; etc. etc. I'd say that all she'd have to do is form a solid way of guarding her face. If she can learn how to do some grappling, all she'd have to do is wait for them to make the first move. That's about all I can really say.
