Yeah, so I've noticed that the general feeling is that Raoul should did a terrible, horrible death, and while I agree that that would certainly have been more convenient, Christine was the one who couldn't say take a hike, Jack. (Or,Raoul, you know.) She just strikes me as a rather wishy-washy girl who couldn't get her act together. It wasn't just Raoul's fault. Maybe he was pushy, and all that but, hey, the way Christine acts, acted, was simply bad for the Phantom. He should really have employed his attention somewhere else than a girl who was so clearly bad for him. Not that I blame the Phantom of course. He's great. We all know it. But you kinda have to step back and say, Christine was a bit of an idiot. Like Juliet from Romeo and Juliet. (pardon the analogy) complete airhead. So I don't think Raoul here is entirely to blame.

I daresay your impression is wrong, sir. We do have our debates about Raoul and his personality, but no one here (or so I hope not) honestly thinks Raoul should have died.

But what I want to know is what exactly are you saying isn't Raoul's fault?

Another thing: your impression of Christine obviously has extended no further than the 2004 Webber musical-movie. Christine was in no way foolhearty. In fact, she was more level-headed than Raoul in most cases because she often had to calm him down and keep him from doing something rash and hurting them both unnecessarily.

Christine may have been young, but she was not dumb. What I'm getting from you is that you think Christine was dumb enough to go with Raoul and that it wasn't entirely Raoul being a bossypants. If I'm wrong, do correct me as I hate to assume.

Simply put, Erik and Christine did not, will not, should not belong together. It was one-sided and all Christine knew of Erik was fear, hate, and pity. If there was an iota of love that she held for him, it was the equivalent of a child's love for a parental or teacher figure. Gratitude, really.

You might want to clear up what you are saying, you are very vague.

Yes, I know that. Like I said, I had just come from a very odd thread and my mindset was on random things. I think I should stay away from this thread, 'tis too serious for me, considering I wouldn't have much to add anyway.

Very true. But, I put my two cents worth into the second post in the thread, so I've got nothing else to add, and there's no reason for me posting here. 'nuff said.

For leaving Erik heartbroken? confused It's not like Erik will gain sanity and will live happily ever after if Christine chose him. Sad fact, but true.

I think you need to do more research than the musical/movie or clear up your statement.
