Both fighters are set in a field of grass where the wind is slightly blowing and the clouds are fairly overhead as the morning comes upon them both, a slight fog passing over the dew of the grass, lowering visibility by 30% (which means, with normal sight, both fighters can barely see one another if there is more than 30ft between them; if the distance goes over 50ft, they become invisible in the fog by normal sights). Around them was a circular boundary set up, designated by an unpenetratable magical wall that was transparent, but still a bit visible, standing at fifty feet tall. Outside this barrier, cameras were set up, giving people a chance to watch this fight from the safety of their TVs, while there were watches kept on the fighter's locations.

Both fighters stood from the center by fifteen feet each, making thirty feet between them both. And then a horn goes off....

FIGHT!

Quote:
Size of the Arena: 100 ft diameter, Wall equals 50 ft tall

Spectators' Location: All spectactors can only be present in some other place aside from the fighting area, using either the television to watch the match or any other appropriate method.

Ring Out: Going over the wall, which means past the boundary itself, or ascending into the air past 60 ft.

Special Rules: After the first post on Page 2, the fog will decrease, making visibility only 15% lower. So, both fighters can truly see one another no matter where they are, yet if they are more than 50 ft apart, they see the other barely.

After the first post on Page 4, the fog disappears as the sun rises, yet the sun will occasionally be blocked out by the clouds.

((Other events may randomly occur as the match progresses, assuming it prolongs.))

A single glance was afforded to Trei as the enigmatic greying man seemed to shift in and out of a coporeal state as he prepared for the impending fight. He personally did not know him, just the same as the Overseer did not know most of those he did not bring to Genesis. This, however, did not stop this one Tacitus Nusradai from having to fight and maybe even kill the man before him. A rush of wind would pass from the rear as Tacitus resumed a solid state, crouching low with his back up straight and arms resting on his knees while his two large pistols hung from the holsters on his thighs. Grey hair rustled as the wind began to settle and terrain data began to stream in on the inner side of his jade visor. He seemed to be speaking to himself, "Whosoever shed last blood, by man shall his blood be shed. For immunity of god make he the man. Destroy all that which is evil. So that which is good may flourish. And I shall count thee amoung my favoured sheep. And you shall have the protection of all the angels in heaven."

His eyes flitted over the information displayed, a map forming of the general area as it provided a diagram of things of note in the area. The Wall of Force that hemmed them in was a nice touch and earned itself a smirk from the man. He couldn't yet get a readout on his opponent, and had done his best to keep away from reviews and reports of his previous fights. He could potentially run some tests now, but there was never much fun in that. His smirk became a true smile, "You've made it to the finals of our bracket, kid. I could give some prophetic declaration that you wouldn't be getting any further, but that would be cheating, and rather corny, now wouldn't it?"

Trei's eyes open staring directly up at crystalline blue skies, almost unbearably serene in comparison to the frozen hell he was reliving in his mind.

Where am I? Am I dead?If so, he can't help but feel that he ended up in the wrong place...

With a groan, as if suffering from stiffened muscles like a normal human being, the young man sits up and takes in more of his surroundings. If this is heaven, it sure is boring... a giant, ethereal box, and a lone cell-mate in the distance. And to top it off, the strange man seems to be praying... A religious freak, perhaps. In heaven, they probably abound.

Next, his eye takes in his twin Tachi, gifts from the Neko-te Jans; the dark sheathes contrast the light green grass harshly, and he can't help but imagine pools of blood on a white tile floor. After all, this is the scene he's awoken to for the past several weeks, since his unfortunate meeting with Craven.

Well, if this is heaven, it seems that he's not a prisoner as he originally thought; rather, the powers that be seem to have set him up as some kind of gladiator, a toy to watch fight and die (can the dead die again?) for their amusement.

With a sad smile, the boy takes his blades in hand.

Might as well give the gods a show...

Slowly the ecclesiastical man would rise from his crouching position, his eyes never leaving the form of his opponent. A sweep of his hands across his thighs would leave two oversized handguns held firmly by the slider. A glance to each and a swift click would disengage the safety on each before his hands shifted, moving to hold the firearms as they were intended to be held. Each seemed to give a few contended clicks as they literally twitched in anticipation of what was to come.

Could Trei ever imagine it?

Could Trei even see it?

Could Trei stop it?

But of course! A slight blurring within the fog and a stream of bullets would take to the air. For but a brief moment they would hang in midair in a pattern that resembled an X with the cross centered directly on Trei's torso. After hanging for that brief moment the whole would be released in a wave upon Trei with the basic intent of perforating his shell.

"Motherfu~!" Reacting out of reflex alone, Trei swings his hands around into an X in front of his face and torso, as if to block the shots, not really thinking about anything other than keeping the bullets from piercing the organs that no longer exist...

However, it seems that that's a worry he can postpone for a bit; the Wisps seem to have followed him to the afterlife, though he couldn't have known it. The air in front of his body warps almost instantly, a curfed shield of iridescent light forming to deflect the wave of shots.

A moment passes, nothing... then, Trei looks up, his eye registering the warped figure of Tacitus through the pane of energy before him. There is silence...

And then, the window shatters, and Trei charges forward; with his opponent using guns, he's gonna want to get as close as possible... Already, the wisps sworl around his body, and a faint spiderweb crack is forming on the back of his right hand....

Trei would find the man staring straight at him as he broke through the defensive shield, one gun at the ready. The sound of a single gunshot would be defeaning as it tore through the air, quickly followed by a pulse of orange light moving in concentric rings away from the barrel. The bullet was moving at much greater velocities that it otherwise should have been, but would hardly do anywhere near as much physical harm as it otherwise would. Any shield produced this time around would find the bullet as almost nonexistant, passing through energy fields under the effect of a temporal phase variant that disallowed full contact with the timeline. It wasn't as deadly, aye, but it was moving incredibly fast and was a b***h to stop.

Why hadn't he fired with both guns...?

React...

As soon as he sees the levelled barrel, Trei's body will dip down as low to the ground as possible, reducing the shot from impact to graze if at all possible. It won't matter... in a matter of split seconds, the young warrior will be within striking distance, and a curt uppercut-style right will be his handshake with his nameless, gun-wielding opponent.

Should the fist impact... nothing. It's just a punch. What, were you expecting a kameha wave?

With the left-hand gun still extended the ashen haired man only seems to shift as much as is necessary. The fist will graze him, aye, but the right hand gun will shift into position, aiming at the poor boy's chest. The slider on the weapon almost seems to move in slow motion as each bullet issues forth, three doses of divine interdiction. Like the one fired but moments before these slip through energy fields with easy, though they have a lesser effect on organics. Each shell ejected seems to hang in the air, falling with a serene grace that contradicts the deadly payload they had only just unleashed.

Despite the implausibility of Tacitus still being able to level shots at Trei's chest when Trei has lowered his body into the sprint, and from as close a range as the fighters are, Trei still finds himself faced with yet another bullet-ridden assault.

"Bull..." Luckily, the man hasn't moved, so Trei simply swings his left arm up and out to the left, aiming to smash into the bottom of the gun's barrel and tilt the aim away from his body. Also, seeing as he's reached this particular proximity, Tac's probably gonna have a slight issue throwing up his wall of static molecules. This means that Tac now has to deal with a hard right punch, hurtling towards his kidney. "s**t!"

Pain sears through Tac's side at the strike, his eyes going wide as he watched the three bullets spiral out to the far side of the arena. He can see them spend their force uselessly against the wall in three brief flashes as the pain slowly ebbs away. Thank you. My pleasure. The only indication of this telepathic communication would be a series of clicks from the firearm in his right hand as Tac began to move. Fragments of orange light would begin to dance in the air as Tac flung himself away from Trei, back and to the side opposite the previous strike. A phantom would be left in his wake as he moved, a focus set against the light to trap his image in that location while he slipped away. It wasn't an after-image in the traditional sense, as he was not moving nearly that fast, but accomplished the same goal. Even after tossing himself back the aged man wouldn't stop, heading back into the fog at his best speed in a sideways motion, keeping the left hand firearm aimed towards Trei.

That's cute... you think I'm gonna let ya get away...

Rather, after Trei's fist impacts with his opponent's side, the young man's dark psyche will lurch into control, firing off a small spear of blood from between his second and third knuckles, aiming to penetrate the flesh and possibly the kidneys of his opponent, as well as introduce Trei's living blood into Tac's unwelcoming body. Any organ that the blood enters will probably go into a state of rejection that could very well cause it to shut down, Tac's immune system will go nuts trying to fend off the foreign bodies, etc, etc. The joys of introducing a new species into the environment.

If Tac gets away, Trei will feel it, so he's not gonna bother with the illusion... rather, he'll break through it, charging towards the man's escaping body with only one intent;

Go down fighting.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 28, 2007 4:01 am

He'd get away, aye, albeit with a nice hole in his side that he didn't even seem to feel, at least not anymore. Trei would find that trying to make contact with his blood inside Tacitus would be sluggish at best, as if it was just moving... slower. Furthermore, the blood didn't seem to spread, the whole of his circulatory system slowed down to the point where his heart beat about once every second. Trying to force beyond this flow would be incredibly difficult, like trying to push through molases, or something similar.

Another gunshot would slice through the air, but the bullet would not streak to connect with the thing that was Trei. Tacitus couldn't slow down the arena and he couldn't stand on air, the concentration of water vapor was simply too high, but that didn't keep him from knocking himself around a bit. A shower of grass and dirt would mark his location for a moment before he burst across the arena, away from Trei. The buildup of energy in the air began to become quite clear, divine will flooding the man's body and exuding from every pore. All the while his voice would dance through the air, distorted by the presense of the water vapor, "Try harder. This is pitiful."

Trei merely grins at the man's words; the man had a chunk of blood elemental inside of him, although Trei couldn't know of the difficulty that chunk was having. For its own part, the little wormy spear isn't trying to diffuse through Tac's blood flow; its going straight in, boring through organ and tissue in an attempt to cause as much damage as possible. Molasses or otherwise, its still going.

Trei's not stopping either... he draws one of his blades and gives chase, running diagonally to Tac's path in an attempt to cut the amount of space his little rocket burst puts between them. It would be foolish to give the guy with the gun a range advantage...
PostPosted: Sat Apr 28, 2007 1:07 pm

Its damned foolish to allow a cleric any time at all, and giving him range only compounds the folly. A pulse of orange light extends from his body, rolling across the arena with a minimal shockwave in its wake. Those that were watching close enough would find specs of blood dispersed through the pulse and take note of the pristine flesh under tattered clothes.

The b*****d was healing, no, pushing back time to undo the wound. He'd expelled the foreign blood cells and his flesh had put itself back together, albeit in a rather strange way, but it was done all the same. The man kept running, right hand tucked close to him as he fired rather erratic looking shots around the arena, even one just below his feet. Why waste the ammo?

Trei simply charges, ignoring the pulse and pushing through the shockwave that follows, disregarding the errant bullets, his eye trained solely on his opponent. The wisps have gone mad... they sworl around his body erratically, practically slithering across his arms as he draws one of his twin dark tachi.

For once in his life (or death, whatever the case may be), Trei doesn't seem manically overjoyed by the combat he's been thrust into. Something just seems different this time... its like the metallic scent of Fate's scissors has filled his nose, or a deathclock has chimed.

One last, rapturous battle.

A personal armaggedon.

A ghost's sensation, the feeling of cold rain and warm blood running across his skin.

As the blade itself begins to glow with iridescent light, and Trei nears the fleeing cleric, the young man's eye flares with determination and defiance; and I say this literally... the eye really does flash out a blinding white light. As it does so, the wisps roll into his body, and his blade begins to shine with the same overpowering white energy that his eye just gave off...

Silently, determinedly, he pulls his arm back to swing...
