As embarrassing as it was, it was MacBeth's first date since he had become a full-fledged adult. So, there he was, in a casual navy suit with his hair tied back into a low ponytail. His blue eyes held nervousness in them as he fiddled with the boquet he had bought. It wasn't anything fancy, they had run out of roses so he prayed that tulips would do. They were left over from the Easter festivities, so the boquet also had a pink bunny nestled inbetween the tulips... he really hoped that she wouldn't mind.

Nervously, he rang the doorbell, his face suddenly feeling hot.

Terra had spent most of the last month getting set up in her new home. As an adult, she found herself with the need to live on her own terms, and in her own place. She still felt nervous most evenings, especially after what happened only a few months prior.

Regardless of that, this evening left her without a worry in the world. Except for what to wear, and of course. Her hair. Up in her room she ran her hands over the satin fabric of the red dress she had chosen. Peeking into her mirror, she fussed over her hair for a few moments, tending to loose strands that dangled about her ears.

The sound of the doorbell brought her from her fussing. She was late, as usual. Sighing, she gave one last tug at the hem of her dress and made her way down the stairs and towards the door.

"It's fine," she murmered to herself, "I'm sure he'll like it." Referring to her dress, of course, she touched the doorknob, pausing for a moment, before turning and pulling the door open.

The first thing she noticed was the navy suit. It set very nicely on him. Turning to his face, she smiled. First time she'd seen his hair pulled back.

"Hi."

MacBeth's face was still in the process of reddening when she opened the door, and when he saw her it was like someone had set his face to boiling.

"I... Hi!"

You are a warrior, MacBeth. This is the greatest battle, yet. Don't flounder about now!

"You look... absolutely beautiful," he breathed as he offered the flowers, "Um, these are for you. I'm really sorry... they didn't have any roses..."

Was he blushing? He was! Terra chuckled a bit, in spite of herself. She didn't want to offend him with it, she just found it rather adorable. The men in her life never really blushed, so it was almost comforting in a way. He was not like them.

"Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself." her eyes glanced toward the flowers being offered to her. Tulips.

"Roses are cliche anyways, these are much nicer." she gently took the flowers and sniffed at a nearby one.

"They're wonderful. Thank you , you really didn't have to." Of course, but she was flattered nonetheless.

"Here, let me put them into a v..." she stopped, finally noticing a floppy ear from amidst the arrangement. It was so familar. A pink bunny.

"How... how did you..." she shook her head. No, he couldn't have known about that stuffed toy. She really wished she knew what happened to that child, Yuna. She'd seemed so scared at the time.

"It's so cute!" it came out as a squeel as she motioned for Mac to enter the house.

MacBeth would've blushed more if he could've, but his face was red enough as it is.

"I'm glad you like them," he said, smiling at her reaction when she noticed the bunny. He nodded and walked inside, making sure that he didn't have dirt on his shoes first.

"Your place looks nice," he said. He thought about what it would be like to live in a smaller building. He thought about it, and then decided that it would be rather nice. She probably also didn't have ghosts running amuck...

"So, how have you been? It's... been awhile."

"Busy." She laughed. "Super busy even. Getting this place into shape wasn't all that easy. You never know how much stuff you really have, until you decide to pack it all up and shove it somewhere else."

Making her way into a room that was quite obviously the living room and kitchen, open concept, she moved to a cupboard door and upon opening it pulled out a black and gold vase. She filled it with water in the sink, removing the bunny from the flowers and placed them into the vase.

"What about yourself? What have you been up to?"

MacBeth absent-mindedly rubbed the bunny plush behind one of his ears as she put the tulips in the vase.

"Me? I've... been writing. I don't know why, I just think it'd be fun to write a book. I've also been practicing with my sword," MacBeth made sure that his ponytail was straight.

"I don't know what I'd do if I ever tried to move all my books."

At the mental image, he cringed.

"Hah, I imagine you'll do it someday. I can't see you living in your mother's home for the rest of your life. Something tells me your sanity wouldn't remain in tact that long." she grinned knowing full well the lot of children his mother had.

"A book?" she inquired, "Really now. That's interesting. What sort of book?"

"The thing is," MacBeth mused, "That castle technically belongs to me. I could throw them out... I wouldn't do that, though. I guess I'll have to find another place of my own someday, then."

He shrugged, "It's... a fantasy, of sorts. It's about a wandering bard chronicling legends of dragons. It's a bit silly, really."

"I can't even imagine you throwing them all out. Besides, living in a castle isn't all that great anyways. Too many rooms, and too many places that you can't be found in." she snorted.

"Mind you, it was really great for parties." Ah yes. Parties at Seraph's had been quite common. Usually Vincent's idea. Not that she had ever complained.

She motioned for him to follow her as she moved back towards the entrance, "I'd show you around, but maybe later."

As she moved down the hall, she pulled a small, white jacket from her coat rack. "I like fantasy. I used to read fantasy novels when I was younger actually." she thought for a moment.

"You should let me read it when you finish it. I'd really like to."

"As long as I had enough room for my books, I could probably live anywhere," MacBeth smiled. He looked at the bunny once more and noticed that it looked like it was smiling. He understood completely-- he'd smile too if Terra loved him.

"I'd be honored if you read it. Oh, here, let me help you with that," being the gentleman, MacBeth offered to help her with her coat.

"Well, there you go. When you go looking for your own place, you could always go hunting for a place that had a library in it." She grinned, accepting his offer to help her with her coat.

"Thanks." adjusting her purse over her shoulder she paused suddenly.

"Where are we going anyways? You never really told me where."

"Well, it's ... not exactly a special restaurant, but I've been talking to some people in the castle and they said that they'd be happy to put on some entertainment for us. The MC just arrived there a few days ago, actually. He, ah..."

MacBeth paused to blush.

"He said that he'd be happy to perform dinner for a lady as lovely as you."

"Really now? You best be careful Macky dear, he sounds like a charmer." she gave a sly wink and moved out beyond the door.

"I'm looking forward to it. Do lead the way."

MacBeth flushed fervently before following her, "I... he's not what you think he is."

The night air was cool, but not too cold. MacBeth was looking at Terra's shoulders, and pondering whether he could put his arm around her or not. He was visibly pondering this, his eyebrows furrowed.
