It was a very cool night.. Even though it was Spring now. Snow no longer lay on the ground, and instead, new grass and tons of flowers covered the soil. Bees buzzed about and crickets chirped quietly, making a soft song flow through the air. The sun was on the verge of the horizon, setting slowly, lighting up the remaining sky with brilliant oranges, pinks, and purples.
Laying underneath a willow tree, a light purple mare watched the colorful horizon, her soft purple eyes taking in the sight. It wasn't everyday that the breeze felt this good, or that the sun put on such a fantastic display, so this, for her, was the chance of a lifetime.
If only she had someone to share it with.. But with being new to these lands, as were all her flower cousins, they had no one yet... Still though, such a mare could dream... Right?

Sunset...always a gorgeous time of day, both for its own merits and for those it provided to others. For example, the setting sun was always very becoming when gleaming on his wing feathers. Similarly, it was the best time of day for making the acquaintance of others, particularly those of the opposite sex...after all, who didn't like having a warm body to curl up to on cold nights?
That aside, evening was his own time. It was like he had a dual identity; devoted father by day, freelance lover by night.
Not that he had any troubles with that role; it was one he loved, and there wasn't much else he could have hoped for in his life.
That didn't mean he couldn't do with a little more in his life RIGHT NOW, though...which was why he was out now, roaming the countryside in search of companionship. Now, if only he could find someone...

As the sun slowly drifted off to its own slumbering time, the light purple mare shook her head some, her long mane swaying in the cool breeze that blew by, making the stalks of lavender behind her right ear dance. A slight smell originated from them, making the air smell sweet and lively. It didn't bother her at all, as she was used to it, but more than likely, some creature would be attracted by the smell... Which was usually what this mare was looking for anyway.
As innocent as she may of looked, she was a real sweet talker, and she loved to mess around with other's heads, especially those of stallions. Not all of them were too bright, but when you got one that was, playing games with them to get them all riled up was such fun.
So, just lying under the willow tree, the mare put her head down, trying to look kind of sad and lonely. Of course, she wasn't sad at all, but she was lonely, a factor that she couldn't help. Company would be so nice to have... Even if it was another mare... Even though a stallion was heavily preferred.

Tossing back his head, Guilian ruffled his curls and adjusted the black rose behind his ear at the same time. Much as he adored the flowers, they DID have a nasty habit of migrating.
However, the gesture did have it's perks. As his head turned to the side, a flash of purple caught the stallion's eye, causing him to all but pause in his walking as he saught out the source. As he did so, the stallion's face curved into a pleased smile, and with good reason. Lying under a lone willow tree was a graceful vision in lavender, a mare all be herself. Well, that was certainly an unpleasant thing; mares should NOT be left alone in the evening, for such was both dangerous and unkind.
How lucky for her that he was around...and how lucky for him, if he played his cards right. Still smiling, Guilian once again checked his roses, then purposefully started off straight for the mare's tree. This evening had potential, alright...

With her eyes watching all directions, she instantly caught sight of a bright red stallion trotting her way, looking so smug and confident in his travels. His mane and tail were so curly, and his coloring was so unique. He even had wings, and he seemed to sport black roses on parts of him. Was he a floral soquili that she had no met yet?
Quickly hiding her curiosity in him, the mare went back to her sullen state, trying to gain his attention. Finally.. She wouldn't be alone tonight. She hated to be alone some nights, for she never knew what.. Or who.. Was watching her... And it scared her, greatly.
For this interesting stallion's presence, she was quite grateful.

Noting that the mare was eyeing him even as he was approaching, Guilian's expression shifted into one of amusement. So she was sizing him up, huh? Well, that was probably a smart thing, given that she had no idea who he was, but it was amusing nonetheless.
As soon as he was within speaking distance, though, he was taking advantage. "Good evening, Chica; forgive me if this in an intrusion, but I couldn't help but notice you lying over here by yourself. Would you mind if I joined you?"

Raising her head and turning it towards him, the mare did her best to look a little startled but his sudden appearance, but couldn't help but to crack a small smile.
"Umm.. Sure. Why not. However, my name is not Chica. It's Lavandula, and it's nice to meet you... What's your name?"
He was quite the handsome one, and pretty smart too. This would be kind of interesting to see happen with him... Would her mind games work on him?

Noting the smile, Guilian's own smile widened a bit as well, though whether or not the mare would know why was anyone's guess. So she was a playful one, well? Definitly not a bad thing.
Then again, he's been wrong before, so for now he'd simply play it safe. That in mind, the bow that he swept the mare was absolute perfection, not a feather out of place. "Lavendula...a lovely name for a lovely mare, though I hope you forgive me if I keep using the term "chica". It's a habit I can't seem to drop, I'm afraid...and my name is Guilian."
That said, he gracefully dropped down onto the ground beside the mare, folding back his wings as he did so. "But now that introductions are over, Lavendula, I hope you don't mind if I ask what brings you out here. I have been around this area many times, yet this is the first time I've ever seen you." Not that he was complaining!

Well, at least he was polite, right? What better than to have a polite stallion, instead of one who was rude and just plain ignorant. Those were ones that Lavandula couldn't stand, no matter how hard she tried. So, at least with this stallion, she didn't have to pretend to be nice.
"Guilian.. I like that name. It's different from the names I'm used to hearing."
Watching the bright red stallion, whose name was Guilian, Lavandula, looked at his wings, seeing each and individual feather now. They were all beautiful and so well kept. Not many of her own kind had feathers, so this was something that was a bit new to her.
"Well, seeing me around here for the first time is practical. I came from another land, along with quite a few of my cousins. We're all floral soquili, a breed of horse that is resembled after a flower. My particular one is lavender, which is where my color comes from. If I may ask... Do you resemble a black rose?", she asked, nosing at his necklace that he wore, sporting the black flower. "You wear them.. Yet... Your color is that of a bird. It's... Strange..."

"Well, I'm a different sort of Soquili from most, I've been told." In more than one way, to be honest, but who was keeping track? Smiling, Guilian propped his head up with a wing, watching the purple mare as she spoke and noting the little things, like the way her eyes danced as she spoke, or the way that the breeze played with her mane. She was a lovely mare, alright, and likely the kind who knew it, too. You didn't keep flowers just for the hell of it, after all.
Still, her innocent query about his own nature brought a chuckle to his lips, and he had to shake his head in dismissal of that idea. "No themes here, Lavendula; I am merely fond of the scent of the black rose, and since they match my coloring so well have taken to toting them about with me. If nothing else, they provide companionship when there is no one else around."
Not that he suspected that to be a problem, not at the moment. As the mare lowered her head to the rose at his neck, he took advantage of her lowered head to scent the prooffered bunch of lavender tucked behind her ear, his muzzle lightly brushing through her mane at the same time. "Such a lovely, lovely flower..."

Not expecting this chain of events to happen, the light purple mare jumped a little bit when she felt something large brushing through her mane. As she calmed down a little bit and looked up and over, she saw that it was the handsome stallion, apparently noticing the small bundle of lavender behind her ear. It must of only been a mistake that he touched her mane with his muzzle, or so she was leading herself to believe.
"As is yours... The black rose is not one that likes to be tamed by others. I'm surprised you have tamed it at all. As far as I know, I do not have a black rose cousin, which is really saying something."
Sniffing the necklace, she could smell the sweet scent of the dark flower, making her eyes flutter some. Black roses smelled quite wonderful, but she had only gotten the chance to once or twice, as they truly were a wild flower. Nosing it some, she felt its soft black petals, also being able to smell the sweet smell again.
"Such a beautiful flower... In so many ways... I'm impressed..."

Her open admiration of his roses caused Guilian to chuckle; after all, most Soquilis were of the same opinion, so the reaction wasn't surprising. However, he had always found the belief in the rarity of the black rose to be amusing, since he had three different places he got his from, including one in the winter. He liked the reactions, though, so he kept his sources secret, like now.
Smiling, he tilted his head slightly to the side, allowing the mare closer access to the flower at his throat. Her breath was light at his neck, a very sensitive spot, and the longer he could keep it there the happier he'd be.
"Not tamed, Chica, merely brought along for the ride. I have several others as well." Such as the one tucked into his mane, and the several that nestled among the curls of his tail. "Perhaps it's a sentimental thing, but I have always been fond of the flowers."
So saying, he once again investigated the small bunch of lavender at her ear, sniffing daintily as well as, this time, gently nuzzling.

"Not tamed, but brought along for the ride.. Interesting...", she whispered to herself, smelling the rose a bit more before she brought her head up some. She looked at the stallion's mane, and then his tail, indeed seeing that he black roses in other places among him. What really caught her off guard was the fact that the rose behind his ear and the one on his neck were in the same places as her own, making her even more curious.
"Well, in any case, they make you stand out. Also, like you said, they match you quite well, and they sort of make you look like a... Like a.. Prince of Roses."
Smiling, she mare bent her head down once more, getting yet another whiff of the beautiful rose. As she did so, she felt Guilian's head go back over hers, smelling the small bunch of lavender behind her right ear. As his warm breath tickled her ear, she flicked it some, it hitting his muzzle. That's when she realized that his muzzle was on her ear, slightly nuzzling it. Blushing some, she kept her head lowered, enjoying the nuzzling too much to lift her head.

A Prince of Roses, eh? Charming nickname, to be sure, but one so misleading...then again, that was like Izusa calling him 'Roses', no? A nominative term based on his accessories...though he had to admit, he'd rather be known for other things.
Not that he was discounting the possibility, though. As he nuzzled the flowers, he was aware of the rapid increase in earflicks the mare was giving, noting with amusement the fact that she was probably unaware she was even doing it. Charming, really, of her to try and hide the fact that she was reacting to him, but hardly necessary. Unless she was unsure herself?
Then again, the fact that she wasn't pulling away or making any negative action made him a bit bolder, causing his muzzle to drift away from the lavender to nuzzle gently at her mane, then lip at it gently. "Such kind words, Chica; if I am the Prince of Roses, though, then you must be the Queen of Lavender."

The Queen of Lavender, huh? Well, that was sure an interesting title to have, and it definitely wasn't one that she had ever heard before. Smiling, but still keeping her head down, Lavandula, very boldy, nuzzled the bright red stallion's neck, right above the silver necklace that held the black rose. She wanted to show him affection, but at the same time, hide it.
"A Queen? I doubt that... While I may be sweet, I can also be very sour. Plus, I'm sure that there is another soquili somewhere that is covered in lavender, as I am."
With her ear still flicking, Lavandula suddenly felt a little tug on her mane. Keeping her composure the best she could, she sat still, trying to determine what had caused the tug. When she felt it again, she also felt a pair of lips along with it, instantly implying to her that Guilian was tugging on it. Smiling and feeling very slap-happy, she went back to nuzzling his neck, occasionally stopping to smell the rose.
