((This is a PRP with ELF and Mousey. Please do not post.)) It was night, and Tloc was struggling a little with his flight. Night flights were great, but they offered nothing in the easy-flying thermals allowed. His wings stretched, grabbed a chunk of air, and then pushed to gain altitude and speed. The fire around his hooves were dimmed, he was simply too lazy to concentrate on them right now.
Besides, this was his own time. The stallion had flown East, to the desert. He watched below as a myriad of desert creatures pranced along the sands. The sky was clear, not a cloud in sight, and the stars sparkled with beauty that was lost on Tlocatl.
It was then he saw a figure below, ever now and then the moon would shine of the interesting coat. Well, he would go investigate. Tloc banked and started a slow desent to see this creature, and maybe sneak up as well.

Wyrsa was enjoying the cool night air of the desert, relieved now of the heat of the day. It was nice to not have the sun beating down on her back, and nicer still to be out in the open on her own.
Alone, she didn't have to worry about others and their opinions, and she didn't have to share the grazing she found with stupid creatures. The mare sniffed in disdain and continued examining the sparse growth.
She never thought to look up, other than to admire the moon.

Tloc decided against trying to sneak up on the creature, which he now saw was indeed a wingless mare. So, he slowed his desent and hovered over her movement, matching her speed. His wings made little noise.
At just the right moment, he dove the last few feet and landed right by this shiny-coated mare. By now, the flames at his hooves were blazing, simply for effect.
"Didn't anyone tell you the desert isn't safe for lonely mares such as yourself?" His voice purred.

Wyrsa was decidedly stunned when out of nowhere something dove out of the sky. Then she saw the flaming hooves and, following that up, realized she was nose to nose with a Kalona.
Her acidic wit, thank the gods, didn't desert her.
"Didn't your mother teach you not to show off?" she demanded, her annoyance clear in her voice. There was also a faint tremor of fear...for those who knew what to listen for.

Tloc grinned viciously, his own fangs glittering in the uneven light his hooves gave off, "Thankfully my mother hasn't had the nerves to teach me anything. She's too weak to try to do such a thing!"
The kalona looked at the mare with a heated snort, "Why, my dear.... are you afraid?"

"Well that's a shame," the Soquili replied, trying to think of how to best handle this...situation. Nothing she knew had prepared her for meeting a real Kalona. Yes, she admitted to herself, she was afraid. But she wasn't going to let that rule her.
"And what would you do if I wasn't as afraid as you wanted?" she asked, baring her own teeth. If one looked closely, they might notice that she did have two pointed teeth...not long enough to be called fangs, but there all the same.

Tloc laughed at the spunkiness of the mare. How he enjoyed it when another actually bantered back.... so few did -one reason her pestered little Thistle so much. "Hmmm... I never mentioned that I wanted you to be afraid, simply asked if you were so."
His smile grew larger, as he did see her own pointed little canines.

He...he was laughing at her? Wyrsa decided this was a good thing. But she wasn't going to give anything, because then he might just decide to not be amused anymore. She liked her hide the way it was...without bloodstains.
She snorted at him. "You fly down out of nowhere, fangs and flames at the ready, and then tell me you didn't want me to be afraid?" She looked the Kalona right in the eye and glared at him, her whole stance radiating defiance.

Tloc stared right back down at her, his red eyes sparkling. "And who says that fangs, flames, and surprise.... are all scary things, Hmmm? Do you always follow the path of others?"
Maybe she wasn't quite what he thought she was... granted, it wasn't a common feat to cross the desert. He was on the verge of disappoint.... were all soquili so weak?

Wyrsa paused to consider that. He did have a point.
"My path is my own," she spat. "And I suppose that fangs, flames and surprise could be a courting gesture, but..." Wyrsa let the sentence trail off. He could fill in the rest for himself.
What was it with him? Was he trying to intimidate her or not? Was he trying to bully her? Was it because he was a Kalona...or because he was a stallion? The mare mentally cursed her inexperience in dealing with others.

Tloc gave a grunt, punctuated with a snort. "Courting gestures are for the weak-minded," he snapped, audibly clacking his teeth together. He gathered close to Wyrsa, spreading his wings and encircling them around her in an aggressive gesture. "If 'courting' was my intention you would have known by now," Tloc purred once again, this time in her ear. If she had any personal bubble he was well within it now.

If a horse could raise an eyebrow, Wyrsa would have. "I wonder if you're saying that because you've never courted," she said slowly, giving each word the inflection that she was thinking this through very carefully. In reality she wondered if that was true, and if it was true because this stallion had no problems finding partners.
Ah, it wasn't necessary to know. Not at the moment. "I wouldn't be so sure," she replied. "You seem to be skilled at keeping your intentions to yourself." She glared again and snapped her own teeth together a few inches from his ear.

Tloc purred some more -which sounded more like a growl from him- and nibbled at Wyrsa's neck. "Why court when you can simply take? There is no reason to keep such intentions bottled up."
When the mare turned and snapped at his own ear, the kalona nibbled a little harder. It still wasn't enough to draw blood, for he was very careful. Tloc tested the mare, see how far was too far with her. Despite his words, he did keep his real intentions to himself... for he didn't 'intend' to go far with her.

It was very...disconcerting...to have the stallion nibble her neck. She snapped her teeth again, this time closer to his ear.
"I am not your plaything," she hissed, rearing slightly in place. It was a daring thing to do, she knew, and only he knew how powerful those large wings were. But the physical action gave her muscles something to do...and kept them from the tremors that would show how scared she was.

Tloc finally backed away when the mare snapped some more and reared up. In the flickering light of hoof-fire, a rather amused grin could easily be seen on his face. So, he was done... for now at least. The stallion wasn't sure if he'd drop the subject, though, for this little mare was entertaining.
"Yes, mi'lady," the kalona mocked and eyed the mare carefully. "Didn't I warn you that the desert wasn't safe?"
