The Child Born to be chosen... Name: Kiemna Surname: Ki Power: Metal Stage: toddler Hair: Mud brown with metal tips Eyes: Crimson-hazel Personality: Ki can only be described as a hyperactive child. Wanting to be a knight, he has a strong sense of honor, and respect towards ladies, as well. He is always ready for any type of play combat. History (As told by Dartsmoore in post 17): "As you know Alera, Eriyan is the reborn god Dijenko. And Kiemna is well.....Kiemna. The two of them were best friends in their previous lives. Dijenko was the god of dragons and Ki the god of metal. They were quite like brothers and even had twin blades forged as both were similar body types, strengths, skills and had similar weapon preferances. Ki ended up getting sick near the end of his life due to a fight he'd been in with a giant serpent. He ended up becoming very weak from the poisen as the deity of life was dead and he could not be healed. So this made him succeptable to mind control by Jujike. He was forced to fight his best friend and rather then allow Ki to die knowing that he'd had to betray his friend under the control of an evil being, Dijenko had to strike him down. He buried Ki with the blade that belonged to him and Dijenko used his own sword kind of as a headstone. However while he was mourning Ki's death Jujike captured him and stole the sword, later using it to torture and finally attempt to kill Dijenko twice." Types in: Silver

The Guardian Pure heart, tainted wings...
Well, hello. My name is Ghast. No, I do not have a last name, since I was born in what you would call '1500 BC', but we did not count our years back then. If we did, however, it is estimated that I am 25 years old since my last death. Back in 1500 BC, my life was somewhat simple for a Nothierian battle warrior. I performed my skills daily there. What is a Nothierian? It is my people from the old Nothier Mountains, where I grew up. My brother, Pujaar, was banished from Nothier for being insane- attempting to murder our leader. He came back during one of my performances, furious that I had joined with him in his solo rebellion, an killed both of us in anger. As souls in Limbo, we were recruited by the Unknown Being- a shapeshifting demon who promised us another chance at life if we collected 10,000 souls for him, and we blindly agreed. During our huge task, we were flung every way into the future and past and gained our life back, but under contract, to do our job. It was soon that we met "Lucy"- a mafia leader and past costumer of U-B- and Heroll- U-B's bastardous son who also possessed a gift of shapeshifting- fighting. It was then that we learned the Unknown Being's true goal of commiting a complete genocide of the Raeme, a species of undead elves who compete with U-B with control of the underworld. Stelfie, the heiress to the Raeme throne and a dear friend of mine tries to discuss with him, and puts rules on us collectors that we can only take renegades to U-B. Soon, there were many battles between the Unknown Being and the Raeme, causing many of us collectors to choose sides. I, being a friend of Stelf's, joined the Raeme's side along with my brother and many other collectors. Before we defeated the Unknown Being, he brandished us traitors with a set of black wings.
Right now, I've been coping with my second death and ressorection, which makes me feel as if the Gods do not wish me to die. I am now taking care of Kiemna and Shinju in my new home, The Sanctuary, where any Tison parent who do not have a current home can reside.

Metal Shaping our future... In chemistry, a metal (Greek: Metallon) is an element that readily loses electrons to form positive ions (cations) and has metallic bonds between metal atoms. Metals form ionic bonds with non-metals. Metals are sometimes described as a lattice of positive ions surrounded by a cloud of delocalized electrons. The metals are one of the three groups of elements as distinguished by their ionization and bonding properties, along with the metalloids and nonmetals. On the periodic table, a diagonal line drawn from boron (B) to polonium (Po) separates the metals from the nonmetals. Most elements on this line are metalloids, sometimes called semi-metals; elements to the lower left are metals; elements to the upper right are nonmetals.
A modern definition of metals is that they have overlapping conduction bands and valence bands in their electronic structure. This definition opens up the category for metallic polymers and other organic metals, which have been made by researchers and employed in high-tech devices. These synthetic materials often have the characteristic silvery-grey reflectiveness (luster) of elemental metals.
The traditional definition focuses on the bulk properties of metals. They tend to be lustrous, ductile, malleable, and good conductors of electricity, while nonmetals are generally brittle (if solid), lack luster, and are insulators.
Chemical properties Most metals are chemically reactive, reacting with oxygen in the air to form oxides over changing timescales (for example iron rusts over years and potassium burns in seconds). The alkali metals react quickest followed by the alkaline earth metals, found in the leftmost two groups of the periodic table. The transition metals take much longer to oxidize (such as iron, copper, zinc, nickel). Others, like palladium, platinum and gold, do not react with the atmosphere at all. Some metals form a barrier layer of oxide on their surface which cannot be penetrated by further oxygen molecules and thus retain their shiny appearance and good conductivity for many decades (like aluminum, some steels, and titanium). The oxides of metals are basic (as opposed to those of nonmetals, which are acidic), although this may be considered a rule of thumb, rather than a fact.
Painting or anodising metals are good ways to prevent their corrosion. However, a more reactive metal in the electrochemical series must be chosen for coating, especially when chipping of the coating is expected. Water and the two metals form an electrochemical cell, and if the coating is less reactive than the coatee, the coating actually promotes corrosion.
Physical properties Traditionally, metals have certain characteristic physical properties: they are usually shiny (they have "luster"), have a high density, are ductile and malleable, usually have a high melting point, are usually hard, and conduct electricity and heat well. However this is mainly because the low density, soft, low melting point metals happen to be reactive, and we rarely encounter them in their elemental, metallic form. Metals conduct sound well, that is, they are sonorous.
The electrical and thermal conductivity of metals originate from the fact that in the metallic bond the outer electrons of the metal atoms form a gas of nearly free electrons, moving as an electron gas in a background of positive charge formed by the ion cores. Good mathematical predictions for electrical conductivity, as well as the electrons' contribution to the heat capacity and heat conductivity of metals can be calculated from the free electron model, which does not take the detailed structure of the ion lattice into account.
When considering the exact band structure and binding energy of a metal, it is necessary to take into account the positive potential caused by the specific arrangement of the ion cores - which is periodic in crystals. The most important consequence of the periodic potential is the formation of a small band gap at the boundary of the brillouin zone. Mathematically, the potential of the ion cores is treated in the nearly-free electron model.
Alloys An alloy is a mixture of two or more elements in solid solution in which the major component is a metal. Most pure metals are either too soft, brittle or chemically reactive for practical use. Combining different ratios of metals as alloys modify the properties of pure metals to produce desirable characteristics. The aim of making alloys is generally to make them less brittle, harder, resistant to corrosion, or have a more desirable color and luster. Examples of alloys are steel (iron and carbon), brass (copper and zinc), bronze (copper and tin), and duralumin (aluminium and copper). Alloys specially designed for highly demanding applications, such as jet engines, may contain more than ten elements.
