"I assume he'll be alright," The woman replied, watching as the markings upon his forehead dissapeared after a small amount of time. "As for what he is I do not know, and how he got his power is a mystery to me, but he's supposed to have it I suppose."

She looked around curiously for a moment, nibble on the en dof her thumb, "Where is that boys mother?" She asked, point over to Ment.

May stared at the woman. ‘assume’? She looked at the child she had brought down with her and moved to lace her fingers through his hand while standing up. “Assumptions make an a** out of you and me.” May chanted the childhood tune that had been created in order to help with spelling.

She looked at the boy in the skirt. Boy? Seriously, what was up with all these boys dressed in female clothing--

And looking better then her?!

“I don’t know where his mother is…” She spoke truthfully before offering the boy a smile “Do you know where your mommy is?” She asked.

Crystal was surprised and disappointed by the answer from the strange woman. "I don't know," she said uncertainly, before asking, "May we ask who you are, ma'am? You seem to know...a bit more than the rest of us." She turned her eyes back to Ment and May, feeling that the festive atmosphere was certainly gone and near beyond salvaging. This had all seemed too convenient...too much controlled chaos for her to feel secure that all was well. Rather than try to puzzle it out, she cast a glance to Irene. Whether she liked it or not, he made her feel more like herself, like she had a firmer grasp on th strange reality around her. Taking a deep sigh, she stood, hoping her dizziness had retreated once and for all.

Kyoko was going to say something, to comment on the goings on...
Until she heard another voice, one she had hoped to never hear again.

"What on Midori went on over here?" Kyoko mistake number one: turn to face source of voice. The woman who had spoke was a tall, willowy woman who hadn't taken much damage from age. Black hair done up in a loose bun with chopsticks pushed into it to keep it together, pale skin, sharp green eyes of an almost draconic nature seen behind a black lacquer half-mask, and a black and white kimono-dress.
"You..." Mistake number two: speaking up. The woman's eyes immediately went to Kyoko, a sneer on her face.
"Yet another commo-" The sneer disappeared and was replaced by interest. "Those eyes of yours..." Kyoko gulped and smiled nervously.

"Excuse me...I have to go." She looked to May and the others and made a quick dancer's bow. "Sorry, but I think my date is looking for me." With that, she took off through the crowd. The woman's eyes narrowed after her.
"Really now..." Without bothering to hear the situation, the woman followed after Kyoko, easily making her way through the crowd.

Degas had decided that enough was enough and with everything being left as it was he knew it was time to go. The scent picked himself up and left the ball wandering home cautiously not afraid of the city but concerned if he would remember his way home.

"Ahhh...." The bob haired woman gave a nervous laugh, and rubbed the back of her neck. "I'm afraid I cannot say..." Her ears twitched a abit at the sight of a rather large man in uniform-ish garb, sporting many medals and bars. She ducked down slightly as it would seem she feared him for lack of better words.

"It would be best you did not say either." The man said, his voice harsh and deep, yet commanding respect. It was a real man's voice alright. "Magic like yours isn't allowed within five clicks of this part of the city."

The man's eyes scanned the group of people before him and fell upon poor Dark Carnival and Ment. His brows furrowed and her frowned greatly, "Has it been these two children that has ruined my Masquerade?!"

Ment looked up at May tiredly before cringing under the tall man's gaze, "Where's 'Livia?" He murmured, "Where'd 'Livia go?"

Livia? That must be his mother’s name. The tall man before them almost had shivers going down May’s spine. How was it you acted around crazy medal men when you were almost killed again? She smiled warmly and gave Ment’s hand a light squeeze in an attempt to comfort the child. “We’ll find her in a second dear.” May promised and gave him a friendly wink before turning to the man in front of them.

It seemed like it took forever before her free hand rose in offer to shake with the other man. “I’m May Taurt.” She introduced with a smile. “I’m sorry for any…damage… that may have been done in the process of your event sir.” She frowned at her lack of much needed words.

Why did her mind suddenly stop working? She wanted to say the children were innocent of accusations, but the words were stuck in her throat, and she couldnt seem to bring them forth.

"Please, your Lordship," Crystal made her voice clear as she addressed the imposing man, "they are but children. Nothing is truly ruined; why, we could move the tables and be dancing again in no time." Her grey eyes turned to May, her smile a little tight around the edges, before looking back to the man. She knew who he must be, so she was careful not to make eye contact unless he insisted. Such was her station.

She moved gracefully towards May, extending a hand to light comfortingly on Ment's shoulder. "No one is hurt, your Lordship," she purred lightly. It was true; she was the only one who had fallen, and she felt better. Maybe it was just her sense of self preservation, but it was working. "The only damage is a table that I will replace if it pleases you," she curtsied to him, although her hand stayed on the boy's shoulder. "Truly, your grand Masquerade will only be ruined if we allow it to be, your Lordship. There are enough spirited people here to carry on dancing, despite the minor set back."

Was Crystal afraid? Certainly! However...there was no use in cowing and scrambling for comforting words. She hoped he would agree that the best recourse would be to continue with the Masquerade, that he would dismiss the child's interference as a mere bump in the road.

Esme watched as Kyoko took off -she didn't recall the girl being so skittish when they last met- then turned her attention to the others around her. Especially the tall man. She had felt small before, most certainly...but this man made her feel smaller than ever. She took a deep breath to steady herself, but made no move to speak. At the moment, everyone else seemed to be doing fine.

She went to stand up, only to find she had a bit of difficulty. "Oh dear...Excuse me...would someone be willing to help me up?"

"Fine, fine..." He grumbled, waving a hand dismissivley in Crystal's direction. He looked down upon Ment, than to Dark Carnival and finally to the woman. "However," He continued, "She leaves. Magic isn't allowed here unless given written consent, and since I'm feeling charitable, I won't send her to jail. Now GO."

The woman murmured an apology quietly and left quickly, her heels clicking against the marble like little hail stones. Within minutes she was gone from the Masquerade, leaving poor Dark Carnival by himself.

"And you." He said, pointing to May. "You take these two children back to their mother. and tell her she needs to give them a good spanking." He walked off brooding before announcing for everyone to continue their dancing and ordered some servants to clean up the broken table and glass.

Near the wreck site Olivia laid, unconscious, having felt the full force of the table falling upon her. She would be alright, but for now she was in La-La-Land.

May stared at the man before nodding her head. Children? Did that mean she had to take care of dark carnival as well? What if he attacked her suddenly? She didn’t like the idea of carting them both around. The one in the skirt was cute, but she already had one brush with death today. She didn’t need two.

Thankyouverymuch.

But never the less she smiled at Ment before moving her hand from his. “Okay then.” She murmered walking over to the clown like child. "How about you take it’s ball, and I’ll carry it. We can bring it to your mom and see what to do with it from there. Does that sound good?” She asked looking at the child.

Pleasegoddontwakeup. Was May’s first thought as she reached to pick up the child.

The next happened to be: Pleasegodletmewalkoutalivetonight.

Crystal let out a breath she didn't know she was holding, watching the strange woman leave. She didn't like this, but she'd made the first move. Now, she had to follow through with it. The woman smoothed her gown, a nervous gesture, before stepping back so Ment could manuever the ball. She'd follow them, and make sure his mother was found...and maybe ask her what in the blazes he was. The woman felt like she was losing her mind!

Her hand snaked over her heart, feeling the wild beat as her fear started to leave her. That could have ended so, so badly if he had decided she was speaking out of place. She had taken a gamble and won. But for what? Crystal looked wearily at the children, namely the Carnival. Why had she put her neck out for him? And Ment, he--

"Wait!" she said suddenly, taking a brisk step towards Carnival with a swish of her skirts. "Ment, young Lord, what was it that he had that you wanted so badly?" Her gloved hands slipped into the Dark Carnival's own, hoping to find an answer.

Ment struggled to get up and follow May to grab ark Carnival's ball. He groaned and rubbed his pain with a few held back sniffles and cries as the pain and the foot print that was now inmbedded in his back and dress. He liked this one too...

"Huh?" He said, wearily before realizing the question and having a mini freak out. "Where is she!?! Is she ok!? Where's the Vial!? Where's Lemon!?!" He cried, tripping voer the ball and onto the floor again with a THUD.

Crystal found the vial as soon as Ment mentioned it. She very gently withdrew it, the glass secure in her gloved hand. "This?" she asked, holding it close to her body but turning to Ment in case he wanted it. "If you'd like, I'll roll the ball and you can carry...her." The woman looked at the vial quizzically. Was it like Carnival? Is that why Ment said it was a she? "He had a good grip on it. S-she seems to be all right, young Lord."

May stopped and held the child still in her arms as Crystal pulled the vial out of Carnival’s hand. She had to stifle a giggle as the child fell to the floor, but quickly covered the action with a “She looks fine to me. Are you okay?”

She felt a tad awkward not adding the child’s name to the end of the question, but she feared she was lacking in that department. It seemed as though she had a bad habit of interacting with people before even catching their names.

Shifting the weight of the child in her arms, as she carried him bridal style, the child’s head gently resting against May’s chest she nodded at the idea. “Yes, I’m sure Crystal can handle the ball. She’s a very capable young woman.” May smiled at the woman in question whom she had met earlier that day.
