"HEY, JERKFACE!"

And impact was made, a muffled cry escaped poor Ment's lips and he was accidentally kicked in the back by someone behind him whom was obviously trying to aim for Dark Carnival. Wow. Talk about bad aiming.

The force of the impact caused Ment and Dark Carnival to fling forward off the ball and onto the floor. By this time, Dark Carnival was now furious. The child's eyes could be mistake for that of a tiger's as it let out a low growl and pulled for something from inside its sleeve, "You wanna play? WE'LL PLAY."

Ment lay on the floor, the wind knocked out of the poor child, and his precious skirts dirtied. He groaned, "Ughhh..." before making his attempt at crawling away from the crazy child.

Kyoko had wandered away from Kyuubi for a bit to get something to eat and drink. She didn't get to her intended destination before being confronted by two kids. One looked like he belonged at the masquerade, the other...Wait. Was that a boy in skirts? How adorable! However, the darker child looked like he was about ready to try and go after the boy in skirts. So...what did Kyoko do? Simple.

"Uh...Excuse me..."

Irene gently brushed his hand across Crystal's face. It felt cool, but at least her breathing was even and strong. He looked around for placed to set down the girl, and eventually found a cusion chair that seemed comfy (and high class) enough. The young man carefully laid the sleeping beauty onto the soft fabric. He stood, and looked down at her, hesitating wether he really should go back into the crowd. Crystal's calm face looked so beautiful, that it drew him in, wanting to touch her skin. Irene shook his head, then paused, and looked at the girl again. He moved closer, and stepped back, looked around, and repeated his actions about three or four times before he deicided to just let the lady rest. He turned and walked a few steps, then turned back, agonizing over his choices. From what he had seen during the few hours, the girl did not seem to like him around very much. He thought she'd feel better if she was left alone, but....

With a switf leap he made himself close to Crystal, and laid a gentle kiss upon her cheek. He then got up and walked back to the crowd, trying to re-focus his thoughts.

Irene reached the crowd in time to see the clown getting thrown off the ball. He smirked, and tried to squeeze himself though the people to get a better view of the incident.

The tales of children born from scents had been told to May by Carrie, and was concurred by the whinny child of Solace scents, but seeing Dark Carnival’s ‘birth’ so to speak had been the icing on the cake. The journalist’s eagerness to jot down as many facts as she could about the child, however, were short lived as screams were heard, and children were flung.

And May had done nothing but watch with horror filled eyes as she took in the events, her mind categorizing them and storing them for later review, when she was in a position to think. However at the current moment her mind only screamed ‘do something you fool’. And yet she watched.

Watched as the other child was spun around and eventually flung onto Crystal. And watched now as the peppermint smelling child (Was he one of them too? She couldn’t ignore his scent…) was flung onto dark Carnival and was crawling his way away from him.

Still her legs were frozen in spot though. Her mind screamed on, but was ignored. No more games. No more playing. This wasn’t as fun as she thought it would be. Whenever she thought of carnivals she thought of cotton candy, and bubble gum. Of clowns and rides, and generally a friendly kind of atmosphere.

This was something different. Something terrible. Something…dark. It made sense if she thought about it in that manner. Her bottom lip was busy being worried, and with her head full of thoughts, May never once noticed that she had moved from her spot where she had been rooted to before, to where Ment now scurried.

“Here” She murmured offering her hand to pull the child up and away. Even though the other scent born from oil seemed to be much younger (And May in her panicked frenzy imagined stomping on it to decommission it for awhile) she was still frightened of it. Her eyes danced with worry as she looked not at Ment, but at the child who was the cause of Chaos and willed her voice to be strong.

“Stop this! Now!”

…Too bad it came out as a hoarse squeak.

Crystal had lain as still as she could as Irene carried her, eyes squeezed shut as she pressed her cool cheek against his warm shoulder, feeling rather comforted by his surprising bid to help her. Certainly, he was raised to be respectful, but he didn't need to carry her to safety, or be so gentle as he rested her upon a chair that was kind to her sore back. She kept her eyes closed, even as she was put on a solid chair, feeling the nausea starting to recede.

The last thing she expected was the sudden warmth of Irene's soft lips on her exposed cheek. Her eyes fluttered open, but when she turned her head to look at him, he'd already disappeared into the crowd. Crystal absently arranged the mask back on her face to cover properly, unwilling to admit that she was trying to keep the sensation of her flirtatious date's kiss on her skin. She touched her mask over her cheek, feeling her stomach leap for a reason that had nothing to do with her previous spill. This night was going to be the death of her.

She took in a deep, shaky breath, which hurt; it was good, though, that she could take a breath with the sharp pain she'd had earlier. There was nothing she could do, not immediately. She had to allow her body to rest so she could move without falling right over.

Ment was pulled up by May, but only for moments as the child was so out of it he could barely stand. He hung, like a limp doll from May's grasps and groaned every now and again just to let you know he was still alive and kicking.

Dark Carnival looked over to May, distracted by her squeaking and quirked his head. "No." He said plainly, juggleing the items in his position as he turned to face her. "I don't want to stop, I think I'll continue. Why? You think you can stop me? You can barely speak up against me silly woman."

Kyoko watched as May picked up Ment, the poor boy quite shaken up, it seemed. Her eyes went back to the other child. This kid was really rude. Even Kyoko had some respect for those older than her. She stepped in front of May and Ment, eyes narrowed behind her mask.

"Ya know...you're a little twerp. How about you treat others with some respect." She crossed her arms and stood up straight, trying to make herself look a little taller.

May clung to Ment almost possessively. She offered small comforting noises from the back of her throat and the occasional “Shh” as she glanced from him to the crazed child before her. Creepy, or not, he was still a child, and she didn’t like being talked to like that.

Did she think she could stop him? DUH! As a result of her thoughts she produced the small notebook from her shirt and chucked it at the kids head, over Kyoko's shoulder, keeping her possessive grip on Ment.

Only then did the doubt start to kick in. Did she think she could stop him? …really? Of course! …Maybe. …probably. She frowned. Hopefully?

Damn. She needed to learn to think before taking action. Seriously.

The clown child's words somehow amused Irene. Somehow, the words ran through his head as something not so offensive, but something...rebellious. For an instant an image of him rebelling against his mother flashed across Irene's mind, making him stumble on his footsteps. Irene shook his head, and smiled half-mockingly to himself. He didn't think rebelling against his mother was possible. She was...so powerful, so overwhelming, so cold.

But this was not the time to admire what the child said. Irene remembered how the child had carelessly hurt Crystal, and he was not about to back down because he was so stubborn and arrogant. The young man walked beside the lady that was speaking, and stared at the clown child, inspecting his looks. Did this child just poofed out of no where?

"We think that we have enough adults here to stop you, kid." Irene said after the other lady finished her words. "And we think that we will have a lot of fun dragging you and torturing you."

"Adults can only do so much, do so much, do so much~ Adults can only do so much, all before you die!" He shrieked, aiming to throw the objects in his hands at May, Irene and Kyoko. He thrusted his arm forward, flinging them.

"Excuse me?....I think it's time you stopped." A quiet voiced echoed amongst the deeper and more adult voice speaking and panicking. A small curly bob-headed woman wormed her way betwen May and Irene with a gentle 'Excuse me please.'

Dark Carnival starred at her wide eyed as she approached, suspended in mid-air during his attempt to launch himself at the three adults before him with his objects.

Her pointed ears wiggled a tad as they brushed against the fabric either of them wore as she passed. "You've already hurt so many, many people. Why don't you sleep a little?" She quirked her head a tad, watching the eyes of the child start to heavily close.

Kyoko immediately shielded her face from whatever it was that was thrown at her, trying not to scream. Thrown objects were not something that sat well with her. When she put her arms back down, she blinked at the woman that had appeared. Her eyes widened, and she removed her mask. Damn thing was starting to get hot anyways.

"What the...DUDE! How'd you do that?!" To say the least, having a kid stop in mid-air, and then get put to sleep like it was nothing was something Kyoko couldn't do.

May dropped to her knees, bringing the child in her arms down with her, as she saw the child ready to take action on the three of them. She curled herself over the boy in a protective motion only to hear another woman talking.

May looked up from the curl she had taken to see the woman. She never moved, merely held her breath as she watched the child’s eyes close. “Woah.” She murmured softly. Who was this woman?

Instead of asking the question that ran through her mind, she looked down at the child in a skirt and poked her cheek softly. “You okay hun?” she asked in a whisper, still cautious of the clown kid.

Crystal had practically leapt to her feet at the child's horrible words, feeling the world swim in her head as though she was looking through a glass of water. She squeezed her hand into a fist, willing herself to gain control of her own body; she was not going to be beaten by a mere fall! It was careless of her to get involved, but she could see May and Irene from where she had been seated...she couldn't sit by while they confronted the terror.

Putting one foot in front of the other, it seemed like an eternity before she reached the three who had stood up to the demon-child. She kneeled by May, touching Ment's hair in worry while her eyes rested wearily on the curly haired woman. There was no mistaking that there was strange magic afoot; surely, the one who had brought this heathen to the party knew what it was capable of. Perhaps this new woman could shed some light on the chaos that was finally settling into something more manageable.

Nicollo was shocked at the child's words of hate. He knew somewhat of what the child was feeling. He had been there himself. Ducking low, he inched his way towards the child in the apperance of a blue moth. He was a sorcerer after all. As soon as he was close enough, he threw off the disguise and reached a hand out to the boy with a kind look on his face.

Abigale ran towards the Dark Carnival scent, keeping the bandaging held between her and the merchant-woman taunt. Hopefully, she'd be able to wind the bandaging around the lad to stop his movement and get him under control. After all, who didn't want to tie up a rambunctious youngster?
