What could have gone wrong and yet come out so right? He still felt like he hurt her by doing what he did even through the months of her pregnancy, but the product of it all.... this cub that he was carrying.... he could not have asked for more. He had a family with Trina now.... Ezekiel, named after his best friend, was asleep upon his back as the adult traversed the grassy savanna. Ger was a happy father, a happy brother to his siblings of Kujack and Aysha, and a happy male.
Ger's glossy brown mane was fuller than ever, crowned around his head and cascading down his chest and back, around his shoulders. His teal eyes, the well known eyes by all of his encounters, gleamed in pride and joy. His body was bigger and strong from training and practice, mostly from hunting. He had not known much about his own family, being gone from the Pride Lands since he was a cub. The only few that he knew were close friends, the late King and Queen, and his own mother, Jahazara..... whom he has yet to find again. With soft sigh, he pressed on.
He was nearing the border of the Pride Lands, the place where he would always stand, staring back into his home lands when he was gone from it with his family, his.... foster family some would call it. Little did he know... he might meet someone from his blood family.

The crimson female had been wandering the borders for moons now, after she had given birth her last born child had died. It had caused her such pain and distraught, it had even made her believe she had caused her child's death. She had been a first time mother after all.
Her soft brown eye's wandered over the pridelands, looking onto the ever omnipitent figure of Pride Rock in the distance as she stood out like a sore thumb. Sighing softly as she thought of her cubs, where they safe? Where they happy?...where they even alive?
But as she stood there, she was unaware of who she would meet. As her eye's scanned the horizon, she saw the golden figure, in her mind, it reminded her of the day she met the father of her cubs...she needed to find him...she needed him. She then shook herself and tentatively started to move closer before she was about 20 yards from the golden figure.
"Excuse me!?" She called out.

Immediately upon the call, the adult's ears perked up from the furry shelter called the mane and opened toward the direction of the call. His eyes also perked up to see that in the distance was another being, what it was was a bit unknown but it must have been a female by the voice that called out to him. Ger took a quick glance back to his son. Good still asleep... He made his way carefully to the female.
The two had spent the day running, just like any other day, running to the water hole and back, however today it seemed like it took longer than usually as the sun had already risen from when they got there. The truth was, Ger took the time to kiss his mate, a few stretches, and along the way, tripped.... many of times. Zeki had once told him that he "wasn't the most graceful" lion out there. In fact, Trina had said that when they were younger too. However, Zeki had left to the water hole and Ger went back home, when the son had not returned Ger set out to find him. So, that wraps up how they were as they were. Zeki was asleep, and Ger was returning home when a sudden urge drew him to the border, was it to look back at his life before returning to his home land, whatever it was, he was there.
The Pride Lander approached with a smile that was soft and sweet, if not a bit flirtatious (darn you Ez!).
"Good morning, lioness, I hope you call was directed at me, otherwise I would feel rather foolish to have interrupted you."

Kianga recognised the almost fliratious tone in his voice and her ears flattened against her skull, the young blighter. Didn't he know how old she was? She opened her mouth to scold him, when she noticed the smell of a cub on him...and...something else. Something familiar...
"I was talking to you, what are you doing so far away from the main den?" She asked him like she where talking to a cub. And compared to her age, he might aswell have been. Staring at him for a moment as she tried to place his appearance, he had a familiar pelt and eye's...who was he? Was he a relative of hers?

Ger chuckled and moved to sit down. First off, he gently plucked the cub from his back and placed it down before him, the cub still snoozing. Sitting down himself, he flicked his mane out of his eyes and smiled at her. He did not think twice about the voice of his, it had picked up on the flirtatiousness from being near his brother, Ezeoha, not really brothers, cousins really, but to Ger, he was one. His teal eyes glanced at the female as she spoke to him.
"The main den? As in Pride Rock? Seeing as you are dettering on the border of this land and the next, I could either assume you as a rogue or a local to the Pride Lands. But I am not one to judge until I know you. As for me, I do not reside at Pride Rock rather a den just nearby it. I have a family there and I'd very much be with them than the crowded main den."
This female, the one before him, he had never seen her before. No never had he seen her, her pelt looked different than those of the traditional Pride Lander, but her scent was so... familiar and yet so different.
"My name is Ger," he introduced then looked down at his son. "This is my son, Ezekiel. -whispering- (But please call him Zeki otherwise he gets rather agitated.)"
Ger could not help but stroke his son's head softly. His very own son, he has not disappointed that he only had one cub, just meant that there was only two beings to funnel his family love to, his mate, Trina, and his son.

Kianga wasn't agitated by this male, she could never be angry with someone. It wasn't in her nature to become angry with someone she'd just met. Especially when he had such a young cub with him. But his smell kept on bothering her, why did he smell and look so familiar?
Her eye's narrowed only slightly before a smile came to her at the mention of the cub's name, ears perking forward as he sat down in a relaxed manner infront of the cub's father. At his name, her ears perked and she had to test it slightly. Did she know a Ger? No...the name didn't ring a bell to her...
"My name is Kianga." She said softly, looking at the younger male before she lifted one of her cream forepaws and started to lap at it.

"It's nice to meet you, Kianga," smiled Ger, looking down at his son. "If he was awake, he'd say something like that too."
Ger chuckled and smiled at the little cub. With a soft reluctant sigh, he laid himself down and looked over at the other female. Something about her just seemed familiar, but something else seemed so different. It had been too long since he was back here in the Pride Lands, it had been far too long. His Dad was always around with his siblings and they around for him. But what about his mother? His birth mother, the one who reserved the title of "Mom"? Ger sighed and nuzzled his son. If only she knew.
"So, Kianga what are you doing way out here? Are you a Pride Lander or are you a rogue? Like I said, I won't judge you one way or another. Someone like you should find a good place to live, maybe around other lions like a pride."

The female watched him, cocking her head before she smiled at the sleeping cub. Such an adorable young one.
At his question, her ears flattened back and she gulped weakly, eyes downcast to her paws as she sat there. What was she now? Was she still a Pridelander or a rogue? Since what happened she'd never stepped back anywhere near the main dens. She was just so afraid. She thought she'd killed her cub and still held that hurt so deep in her heart.
"I...I don't know what I am anymore..." She said weakly. "I did live in the Pridelands with my siblings...but something happened and I left."

"Something happened? So then you were once a Pride Lander," Ger looked down at his paws as well, smiling at the cub. "I once disappeared from the Pride Lands too, when I was a cub. I just recently returned but I haven't gotten to talk with the....."
That was right, both his Uncle Mufasa and Aunt Sarabi have moved on in this time and their daughter had taken over with her own mate. But what bothered him most was that.... he did not entirely see Mufasa and Sarabi as the King and Queen rather he saw them as his family members. Being born of only a mother, no father in sight, he had a family from what he was able to. Knowing that they were gone now, it just hurt. A lot. He knew his mother was alive, he could feel it but where she was he did not know. He just wished that he was safe. Ger sighed and looked back at Kianga.
"I am sure you would be able to return, Kianga. I also need to speak with those upon the royal throne too."

Kianga looked at Ger and his son for a moment or two, mentally giving up trying to familiarise him with anyone she knew. Maybe he just reminded her of home. All those golden pelts and the exception of her father and some of her siblings and cousins.
At the words of the royal throne, she had to sigh softly. Her body stretching out lazily as she spoke.
"Yes...I'll have to talk to my cousins aswell." She said, not really knowing the impact of her words.

"Cousins? You're related to the main branch of the royal family?" Ger questioned. "I am the great nephew of the past.... king."
The last word of his sentence sort of fell off. He never thought he'd ever have to say those two words together. Knowing that Mufasa was bound to die, but he never expected it to be so soon. He regretted not being here to say good-bye to the older male and to his Aunt Sarabi as well. He wished there was a way to turn back time just for a moment to say those words but alas, that task was impossible even to the gods themselves. Best pushed such thoughts aside until he had his private moments.
"So, Kianga, how are you related to the royal family? I, myself, must hold some royal blood somewhere in me, I just don't know exactly where from. I only know is my mother and no one else but my Uncle and Aunt. Maybe a cousin or two. How about you?"

She blinked, he was Mufasa's great nephew? Did that mean he was a son of one of her cousins...or one of her siblings? What was she thinking!? It had to be one of her siblings!!! She looked over him again, eye's slightly wide in shock.
"I...I'm Mufasa's niece!" She exclaimed, standing up as she looked at him, now she was trying to make him recognisable once more. Who was he related to? Who!? "I'm the daughter of Mwali and Koho." She said softly as she looked at him.

"If you are Uncle Mufasa's niece, then you must be related to me. However, the only lion I know that are related to me are Mufasa, Sarabi, my mother, and my good friend Ezeoha. However, that's about it."
Ger spoke in bewilderment trying to get at where this female was trying to direct him. What did she want? What was she trying to do? Okay, now that the relation's connected, what now? If they truely were connected then how were they?
Ger instinctively pulled his son closer to him as he looked at her with teal eyes.
"Who is Mwali? Who's Koho?"

Kianga backed of a little, brows furrowed upwards as she looked at him as she thought over what part of her family he could have come from. He was so familiar in SO many ways. She then cocked her head at him.
"Koho was the Prideland's nanny and Mufasa's half sister and Mwali was the prince of the Motoujamii..." She said softly, looking at him as she thought for a moment or two.
She then looked over him again.
"I was from a litter of six, my three brothers Malik, Azeze, Kisogo...and my two sisters, Tekeza and Jahzara." Her eyebrow's suddenly shot up at the mention of her golden sister and she stared at Ger.
"You look a little like her...same eye's...fur colour..."
Oh God...was he?...

"....."
His eyes narrowed at her when she mentioned the name of his mother. Koho, Mwali, Malik, Azeze, Kisogo, and Tekeza as well as this Kianga are related to him directly? Where were they when he was born? Where were they when he was a cub? If they were his family how come he does not know them? Could she be lying to him? Kianga looked nothing like Ger and even the slightest to Jahazara.
".... Jahazara is my mother. How do I know you are not lying to me? Since I was born, I have never seen the faces of those directly related to me. So how do I know if you are telling me is true?"
For whatever reason, he felt threatened by this female. To lied to, then to go into a false sense of security.... he was not afraid for himself, but for his son.
Ezekiel groaned and shifted in Ger's paws, rubbing up against the strong, solid chest of his father making him wake up a bit.
"....Dad?...."
